- RandomEyes, on 07/15/2009, -3/+74Am I the only one who really liked Lucky Louie?
- bubgz, on 07/16/2009, -2/+55Bring back Deadwood, *****!
- lolipop99, on 07/15/2009, -2/+44Carnivale was epic IMO.
- AmyVernon, on 07/15/2009, -3/+39This list made me a sad panda because of Deadwood, Carnivale and Rome. Didn't care about JfromC, though.
- helikopter, on 07/16/2009, -0/+33dead like me wasn't on hbo. showtime.
- CB810, on 07/15/2009, -5/+36Mr. Show & Tenacious D were amazing, groundbreaking shows...
- superdupergome, on 07/16/2009, -2/+28Deadwood was ***** literature, and those hoople-headed ***** at HBO ***** killed it.
- bcardarella, on 07/16/2009, -1/+22+1 for Lucky Louie. It was a good throw back to the way sitcoms used to be, and had that adult twist that put it over the top.
- mikeyernst, on 07/16/2009, -1/+19Love Mr. Show.

Carnivale
Tenacious D
Deadwood
Mr. Show
John from Cincinatti - trendygamer, on 07/16/2009, -1/+18Lucky Louie was absolutely hilarious...and was allegedly canceled because HBO didn't feel that one of their "Originals" should be that low-brow.
Ah-booo. - LucasKane, on 07/15/2009, -1/+17Nope, it was great
- Surferess, on 07/15/2009, -6/+21I totally miss John from Cincinnati.
- groundlevel1, on 07/16/2009, -1/+15Lucky Louie was hysterical. They were idiots for canceling that.
- freeridstylee, on 07/15/2009, -7/+20I think the Wire could have used another season.
- ProfessorRiffs, on 07/16/2009, -3/+16Carnivale FTW.
- fugazied, on 07/16/2009, -0/+12Yeah True Blood is getting better every episode. Funny, strange and great.

Deadwood is, by far, my favorite TV show of all time. Shakespearean dialogue dirtier than the inside of Courtney Love's vagina that is equal parts Gunsmoke and The Godfather with the only redeemable ***** character who is an even bigger ***** than House and a sheriff ripped right from the pages of The Watchmen, all set in an actual historical setting. The humor was so subtle but apparent as well. Nothing even comes close for me. House is a distant second.
I also don't think any TV show has kept a real cinematic pace and quality quite on par with Deadwood. There were maybe two slow episodes. - slider121, on 07/16/2009, -0/+12Judging from the DVD sales, I wouldn't worry about True Blood. Remember HBO doesn't make money on ads like the networks do, they rely on subscriptions and DVD sales to make money. True Blood is doing REALLY well on DVD.
- andrewlotta, on 07/16/2009, -2/+13***** ***** website
i come home after 10 hours of work and i can't even digg in peace - smpaisnutrients, on 07/16/2009, -0/+11good point. tell dan to give you a ball of dope.
- paidhima, on 07/16/2009, -0/+10It's an utter shame that there have been some absolute masterpieces of entertainment cut down well before their time by HBO. Then again, these shows would never even have gotten a green light by another broadcaster. Could you imagine Deadwood on Fox or NBC? Each episode would be a minute and a half long and consist mainly of various characters looking at each other in meaningful ways, trudging up and down the thoroughfare and an obscure hint that somewhere someone is getting cheated, tricked, swindled, blown, *****, shot, stabbed, maimed, killed or eaten. As much as I shake tiny fists of rage at HBO for canceling some of the best written shows in the history of television, I'm at least consoled by the fact that I can watch them - even in unfinished form.
- IgorUnchained, on 07/16/2009, -1/+11It sucks that Lucky Louie got canceled and then turned into my life.
Actually, I would prefer if Lucky Louie was my life...at least then I could hang out with Jim Norton once in a while. - SteveTheSultan, on 07/16/2009, -1/+10Welcome to f***ing Deadwood! You F**ing C**nts.
Please bring back that show. Better than the sopranos. They way they used the word C**NT perfectly - andrewlotta, on 07/16/2009, -1/+10...was not cancelled, it ended, like all shows do.
- paran0idslacker, on 07/16/2009, -1/+9Thirteenth! Thirteenth! Thirteenth! Rome was definitely the finest show on HBO. While I'm glad they had the opportunity to create a proper series finale, I'm certain that the second season would have been much better if they had not been forced to condense so much history into so few episodes. Would it have killed those greedy bastards at HBO to give Vorenus & Pullo a third season? Perhaps they wanted to kill it off in its prime, to spare it the slow, lingering death suffered by The Sopranos. Deadwood's cancellation was also a damned shame. John from Cincinnati wasn't the worst show I've ever watched, but I would gladly trade every WTF? episode of it for a Deadwood series finale.
- constantine111, on 07/16/2009, -3/+11Rome, one of the greatest TV shows ever created and the 13 gladiator scene is one of the best scenes in the history of television.
- dnite, on 07/16/2009, -1/+9I died a little inside when Lucky Louie was canceled.. x='(
- fuzzytank, on 07/16/2009, -1/+9maybe that'll please the hoople heads.
- VermiciousKnid, on 07/16/2009, -0/+7swedgin, woo... hangdai
- DeltaOne, on 07/16/2009, -2/+9Losing Carnivale was tragic. One of the most visually stunning and atmospheric shows I've ever seen.
- blitZedSYR, on 07/16/2009, -1/+8Deadwood was freakin' awesome, i still search for news of a revival every now and again. No luck so far!! Bring it back HBO!!!!
- jba68, on 07/16/2009, -1/+7I didnt catch either on hbo, Watched em on Dvd, and Rome felt like it ended at a good closing point. Deadwood left me hanging :(
- ogre2112, on 07/16/2009, -0/+6*****!
- Barnolde, on 07/16/2009, -3/+9I know The Wire ended, but I wish it kept going :(
and Lucky Louie was amazing. - Yage2006, on 07/16/2009, -2/+8I never knew Rome and Deadwood were canceled I thought the story just came to an end on both.
So sad those were too of my favorite series.
They had better keep True Blood going or I am canceling my subscription. - Schmapdi, on 07/16/2009, -2/+8Big Love is awesome.
- bornfreeid, on 07/16/2009, -1/+6That was the first thing that came to my mind... Lucky Louie. Glad someone else felt the cancellation was ridiculous. According to Louie it had nothing to do with ratings, rather HBO was nervous about it's reputation with critics that disliked it.
- IgorUnchained, on 07/16/2009, -0/+5I like to think Im of average intelligence...that I can see the symbolism in The Great Gatsby and Stairway to Heaven....and that tv is dumbed down to the point where a 7th grader can get the deepest the medium can offer.
That said, I watched all 10 episodes...one a week while it was on.....and I didnt "get it" after the first viewing. I felt like I wanted my 10 hours back. Thankfully, I was so upset at the show (and I had DVRed them along the way) that I gave it another shot.
Im glad I did. Things were said in the first episode that dont make sense until the 10th and I was spending too much time on obvious questions (is he an alien? Jesus?) that I missed alot of subtle things.
It is ALOT to ask to watch the season through twice...with full attention. I dont think most people have that in them.....and that is what it took for me to realize that this show literally contains the meaning of life within the episodes.
This show was far too in depth and intelligent for a wide audience. That said, it is a perfect show for people who enjoy their entertainment along the "in depth and intelligent" lines.
Ronfez......NO! I got my eye on YOU! - maxer64, on 07/16/2009, -1/+6Yeah.. they missed that for sure. CK is in the new Ricky Gervais movie.. looks awesome.
- CourageWulf, on 07/15/2009, -4/+9John from Cincinnati introduced me to "TV on the Radio" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHrTOQ18yzU
I'll remember this show forever. - Schmapdi, on 07/16/2009, -1/+6I can't see the site, but I can pretty much imagine the list already. In order of their tragedy.
1) Deadwood.
2) Rome
3) Mr. Show
4) John From Cincinatti (weird, but ok - it might have gotten either really good, or really bad)
5) Carnivale (I never actually watched this one, but I've heard people rave about it for years now)
6) Uhmm, Lucky Louie maybe? A Louis CK show that I didn't actually find that funny, but alot of people I know liked it.
I can think of a few other canceled shows on HBO, but none that I'd consider "great" or anything. (The Comeback, Mind of the Married Man, Tell Me You Love Me, etc)
*Doh, now that I finish I see someone posted the list. I forgot the D was on after Mr. Show for like 6 episodes. - 8u11d066, on 07/16/2009, -1/+6I LOVED Lucky Louie. I guess we were the only ones though...
- hackiavelli, on 07/16/2009, -2/+7Carnivale definitely wasn't over. Daniel Knauf planned the story to run out six seasons.
- ronfez, on 07/16/2009, -0/+5I've got my eye on you IgorUnchained.
- merdiesel, on 07/16/2009, -1/+6Louie's relationship with his daughter was ***** hilarious. Great show.
- fugazied, on 07/16/2009, -1/+6Agreed. Not a good show in comparison to deadwood, the wire, rome, 6 feet under and carnivale.
- groundlevel1, on 07/16/2009, -1/+6Yo -- how about Lisa Kudrow's most disgusting portrayal of a TV sitcom star ever, The Comeback.
- coheedcollapse, on 07/16/2009, -1/+5Seeing Mr. Show as the story image makes me tear up a tiny bit. I can only name like two skits in the history of that show that I didn't think were absolutely hilarious.
- dc45, on 07/16/2009, -0/+4Did you watch the movie that was released earlier this year? It was horrible...
