That show was an incredible representation of childhood life in lower middle class suburbia in the 90's. I'm lucky enough to actually have the soundtrack, and everytime I hear that theme song the nostalgia is almost painful. Something about that song is so innocent but kind of sad at the same time. It sounds like a tribute song, but with a farewell flavor - perfect for reminiscing about childhood. If you look it up, it's really a lot more than a random theme song for a show. It's actually said to be about the Kent State shootings, and the references are really strong... but the songwriter has refused to this day to reveal the full content of the lyrics (which are very hard to distinguish) or his intended meaning.

Talk about a show that knew its audience -- managed to cater to kids while throwing in enough jokes for adults.
