hubba hubba - stonedslacker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Great list. Though they left out some great ones. These are way better moments than Britney announcing her pregnancy:
1. Crispin Glover's wacky appearance which ends with him almost kicking Letterman in the face and Letterman walking out
2. Andy Kaufman slapped hard by Jerry Lawler and then comes back to abuse him and almost has an on-air fight. This was later (years after Kaufman died) revealed to be a stunt.
Also almost all of these moments can be found on youtube. - mattsidesinger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16This should not be on the list:
"Britney Spears tells Dave that she's expecting her second child during an appearance on May 9, 2006." - mraustin1337, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16When was Drew Barrymore that sexy?
- ibjhb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Wow. She used to be sooo hottt.

- themarq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4indeed, missing those two was a glaring oversight.
As for Britney's brood... who fkkiing cares?
Furthermore, I totally agree with the Drew Barrymore deal, I remember seeing that and wishing my VCR had been running. - skored, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4A few more YouTube clips:

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Letterman knocked him off balance and didn't play by the rules. I thought it was great. Finally someone said everything I wanted to have said to O'Reilly, and for once, Bill wasn't in a position to shut the other guy's mic off, and he couldn't shout over him. Dave might have been more blunt than we were used to seeing him, but it was well done.
Backfire? Not hardly. You're the first person I've ever heard say they had a negative reaction to that show. - robojames, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4what about harmony korine completely stoned?

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you see the interview that's pretty much it. She's spaced out in a narcotic sort of way. She's about as vacant and ditzy as you can think of.
- mohaine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Have you seen her playboy spread? She was damn yummy back in '95.

- Nougat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The Crispin Glover thing was awesome. I remember seeing it when it aired. "I can kick, Dave. I can kick." Dave stands up and walks off the set, they go to commercial, when they come back, no more Crispin Glover.
- diggsIt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thanks for the link. That was the funniest appearance of them all.
- Crass22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Strange, Cant find the Rather on Letterman clip (used to be easy to find casue it was so emotional to watch). Looks like CBS wont let google/youtube use that video, but they can use pretty much every other Letterman clip. Is it a conspiracy?
- Humptydank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, "Slutty Redneck Announces Second Young Pregnancy" is an incredible television moment?
If she'd come on Letterman and announced she'd made it through a weekend with her legs shut, now that would be amazing. - Thuktun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2In case people can't figure out what you're saying, TFA sayeth, "Letterman turned his normally light show into an ideological battle with Bill O'Reilly over the Iraq war and protester Cindy Sherman ..."
Cindy Sherman? - CarolFil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What about the alka seltzer bit?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoIFGxh9IhA - chadu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Chris Elliot in the Alka Seltzer suit was damn funny, too.
- finalbroadcast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Considering that it was one of Dave's defining bits, I'm suprised, but it did end rather badly.
- Nick519, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1what? no clip from when he got terri garr to shower in his office? no crispin glover? i demand a recount!!
- cprincipe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thank God someone mentioned it!
- monarch00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"2. What did she say?
Farrah Fawcett bamboozled the big man in a June 6, 1997, appearance. She barely finished a sentence. At one point, she stopped in the middle of a statement, stared at the show's backdrop and said, "Wow." "
Is it just me, or does this tell us nothing? - rpcollins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I totally agree. how do you leave out the Kaufman/Lawler one, and leave in Britt?
- hsoj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What's the thing that the guy in the audience yells out to Dave when Madonna asks Dave if he has a girlfriend? I can't make it out.
- finalbroadcast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1See this is what is called a coloumn, and there is no recount as the author has the only vote. You're more than welcome to post your own.
- fober, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2One of the greatest television personalities of our time.
- graemee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No stupid pet tricks?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The Crispin Glover Incident confuses most people. It is abstract and very funny, hence why it was not included. Madonna whoring it up though - the writer could "get" that, and was thus a big fan.
- cannibal666, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I still can't believe they left the Kaufman/Lawler stuff out!
- honestlywhagwan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yea, i was a little confused about it not including Pekar. I thought for sure it'd be on there. ***** Britney.
- Takfam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, a Letterman thread with no Conan or Leno bashing. There's something you don't see on every d-... hm, come to think of it I don't think I've EVER seen that.
I'm so proud of the Digg community! - honestlywhagwan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Cindy Sherman is a famous photographer. She's done a lot of self-portraits playing with female gender roles.
- Humptydank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Forget Letterman -- the Crispin Glover interview was one of the all-time top moments in television history!
Glover: "People seem to make me seem a lot weird. And I'm just (flexes arm muscles); I'm strong, you know. I'm strong. I can arm wrestle. Do you want to arm wrestle?"
Letterman: "No."
Glover (Standing): "I've been taking... These aren't mine... I can kick..." (Does a high kick near Letterman's head.) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm pretty sure they replaced Letterman with a robot when he moved to CBS. A robot that says things like "Stuart Smalley...Yup, that Stuart Smalley is a smart, smart man. What a smart man! Would make a great senator".
- brotherfranciz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A shout-out to Rupert at Hello Deli...
- stockjones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And the Kaufman slap
http://www.evtv1.com/player.aspx?itemnum=5337&aid= - evilmonkey422, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I cant believe they left out a Thanksgiving classic: Richard Simmons being chased around in a turkey costume by Dave with a fire exstinguisher! I can't be the holidays without it...
