- RazarX, on 10/22/2009, -0/+89The Adama Maneuver deserves its #1 spot.
- yngtimmy, on 10/22/2009, -0/+51"Big Balls Bill Adama". Awesome.
- cuevas4711, on 10/23/2009, -0/+50[Spoiler]
Tory getting killed was ***** awesome, hated the bitch. - slicky803, on 10/23/2009, -0/+33I'm guessing Baltar's top moment was when he got to be in a Xena/Six sandwich.
- sbcea, on 10/22/2009, -2/+33Any moment with Grace Park.
- AmyVernon, on 10/22/2009, -0/+27Absolutely. I actually got chills just reading about it. When that happened, I was all, 'NO FRAKKIN' WAY!'
- AmyVernon, on 10/22/2009, -0/+26If someone hasn't seen the whole thing yet and clicks through, they deserve what they get.
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 10/23/2009, -0/+24"Nobody's balls are bigger than Big Balls Bill Adama"
Truer words were never said. - Shaggy6ster, on 10/23/2009, -1/+24Any time Six was wearing her little red dress.
- Ghostalker, on 10/23/2009, -0/+22The million-ton battlestar crashing through the atmosphere, with a kick-ass musical score, is STILL the best avi in my collection. It comes close to Daybreak part 2, but still falls short in the area of creativity.
- slicky803, on 10/23/2009, -0/+20I must've watched that scene at least 20 times. And I would still watch it again.
- cdastros, on 10/23/2009, -0/+19I can't believe Boomer shooting Adama is not on the list. It was an amazing end to season one.
- DownIsTheNewUp, on 10/23/2009, -1/+17The final five reveal to the lyrics of "All Along the Watchtower" was pretty damn win.
- Juaquin, on 10/23/2009, -0/+16That was the most badass thing I've ever seen. My jaw ***** dropped as soon as Galactica popped in, freefalling through the atmosphere, shooting vipers out of the sides.
Even Kanye can't argue with that. - mklopez, on 10/22/2009, -4/+20FRAKKING SPOILERS AHEAD!
- jzh1554, on 10/23/2009, -0/+14Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.
- FujiwaraTofu, on 10/23/2009, -0/+14I can't digg this enough.
- cuevas4711, on 10/23/2009, -0/+13One of the best episodes of the series.
- Tyrghast, on 10/23/2009, -1/+13Lucy Lawless is a much hotter blonde than brunette, and that can't be said for many chicks imo
- mdwstmusik, on 10/23/2009, -0/+10When Dualla committed suicide I was totally shocked and caught off guard...one of my top ten BSG moments.
- inactive, on 10/23/2009, -1/+11Yeah #1 was a great moment, but the scene that kicked my ass was the army of centurions marching into New Caprica as Baltar surrenders. Maybe it's just me, but that was one of the most intense cliffhangers I've ever seen.
I liked the rest of the series just fine, but that will always be my BSG moment. - DownIsTheNewUp, on 10/23/2009, -0/+10Grace Park doing tai chi.
- netant, on 10/23/2009, -1/+11(This one is gonna get buried...)
One of my favorite BSG scenes, was the Lee Adama soliloquy testifying at the trial. All season you're wondering "Why the f**k would Adama quit the service to defend a scumbag? Was it the biggest waste and retarded decision of his life?" And then *boom*, you saw what drove him to that moment, and see how everything was rationalization.
The other scene which had to be there, although it was the most emotionally brutal (and unfun), was the Dualla suicide. It just really showed how much the fleet had lost hope.
The "Fragged" scene needs to be dropped. I can't even remember it.
Honorable mention would have to be the end scene of Season 4(?), when everyone finds out Earth is a radioactive dump. I could have lived with the series ending on that episode. (The actual final episode sucked ass.) - shinepdx, on 10/23/2009, -0/+9Dropping the battlestar takes some frakkin balls #1 indeed.
- jorazzle, on 10/23/2009, -1/+10#6 - the boxing episode? really?!?! come on.
- spookyttws, on 10/23/2009, -0/+9I came into the show in it's last season, downloading and watching all the episodes in a few weeks. Needless to say most of the 'final five' cylon stuff had been spoiled, as well as many of the other large revelations. The one thing I was not even remotely expecting was the "ADAMA DROPS A BATTLESTAR ON NEW CAPRICA" moment. That episode blew me away.
- Awwzm, on 10/23/2009, -2/+11I can't get enough of Grace Park!
- skcolb, on 10/23/2009, -0/+8This list reminded me how awesome the show was. I think it's been long enough since the first time that I can watch it all again.
- DirkBelig, on 10/23/2009, -0/+7I don't have cable, so I hadn't been watching BSG until I borrowed the first two seasons from a friend and torrented the 16 that had aired by that point. (note: I bought S3 the day it hit DVD, so spare me any "you be a pirate!" junk.) My boss at the time was a fan of the show and I walked in the day after I saw this episode and the first words out of my mouth were, "I watched the episode with the escape from New Caprica last night an OMFG THAT WAS THE COOLEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!" I called my g/f babbling about how cool it was and even showed her and she was like, "That's nice." ARGH!!!!
- shadowspawn, on 10/23/2009, -1/+8I gotta admit that #1 is really #1. My jaw dropped when watching that and felt like "holy *****, bout time!". I walked away happier than any other episode.
Then again to me #1 in Farscape was a toss between Crais convincing Talon to starburst in the hanger deck in self-sacrifice, or one of the Crichtons moving part of a sun to destroy a ship before he dies, #1 to me with Firefly was the scene where Serenity did a burn in the atmosphere. - kevro, on 10/23/2009, -0/+7The great thing about BSG is that they never played it safe. Most shows would have a clean and tidy resolution at the end of a episode that would generally be happy, while some shows like The outer limits would almost always end badly. You never knew what the out come of a episode would be on Battlestar. It wasn't afraid to go in surprising directions and frack with the audience, this made it edge of your seat entertainment that was some times astounding , some times shocking but never boring.
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 10/23/2009, -0/+7Seasons 2 and 3 almost got me to stop watching. I was just too damn depressing. But in retrospect, they were fantastic.
- Stormwern, on 10/23/2009, -0/+7Yep, and Baltar signing the execution order is another great one.
- inactive, on 10/23/2009, -0/+6Yeah.. in retrospect, season 2-3 were probably my favorites. There was a lot of interesting and unexpected character development there. The last season kind of became a parody of the best episodes of 2-3 in a way.
- Dustmuffins, on 10/23/2009, -0/+6Naked
- contradictator, on 10/23/2009, -0/+5So say we all.
- Kidddrunkadelic, on 10/23/2009, -0/+5Anytime Racetrack was on screen.
- Rachy88, on 10/23/2009, -0/+5#2 was the most satisfying moment in television i'd ever experienced.
- viserov, on 10/23/2009, -0/+5One of my favorite scenes was in season 1's "The Hand of God" when Lee and his Viper squad popped out of the decoy container ship to attack the Cylon fleet guarding the tylium mine.
This is the scene I'm referring to... minus the stupid music:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHg2EwMZ_4c#t=1m2s @ 1:02 - MysterySword, on 10/23/2009, -0/+5I watched the whole escape from New Caprica 20 times...
- newsound6, on 10/23/2009, -0/+4#11 The akward camera zooms on balls and ass in the dvd version of "the plan"
- curtisag, on 10/23/2009, -0/+4There so many good ones it's difficult to make a top 10. One I think they left out is when Felix Gaeta starts a mutiny on Galactica. I was worried about season 4 till I saw that one. So many conflicting emotions in that one.
- LarkStew, on 10/23/2009, -0/+3Even when he's rat assed drunk and drooling like a retard.
- inactive, on 10/23/2009, -2/+5I loved the Pegasus scene. First time I watched it I was baked but that song has stuck with me ever since. Before I even clicked the article I was crossing my fingers it would make the list.
- rpgmakr, on 10/23/2009, -0/+3LOL. None of this are on my top 10. The suicide bomber scene of one of the webisodes is definitely there, along with many scenes of the third season.
"Humanity is *****. They settled on a ***** planet they named New Caprica.."
I always laughed at how New Caprica seemed like a ***** planet when they were presenting the bad times the humans went through there but also looked like a very fine planet when Adama remembered boning the president. - ebcreasoner, on 10/23/2009, -0/+3Thank the gods. It's the frakkin' voice of reason.
- curtisag, on 10/23/2009, -0/+3Download the music for that part, it's ***** amazing.
- Chalks777, on 10/23/2009, -0/+3seriously. I had NO idea it was coming.
- JeniBurns, on 10/23/2009, -0/+3Agreed.
- JeniBurns, on 10/23/2009, -0/+3I (Unfortunately) came to the BSG party late...but having seen the whole series over and over (Thanks, Netflix!)....I can definitely say that this is the first show I felt worth my time.
Some of the moments listed, I'm thinkin' "meh". But, the top 5 definitely deserve to be the top 5. Especially 1 & 2 (although, personally, I'd switch 'em).
A series I was sad to see end...if only because it felt like saying "Goodbye, I love you, but we'll never see each other again" to a really great friend. -
