- OtterStratton, on 12/08/2008, -5/+188There are at least two that should be on such a list:
Darkwing Duck: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czCqMWRFVg4&fea ...
Let's get DANGEROUS
and Talespin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKe91DO-5iA
HAH HAH HAH SPIN IT LETS BEGIN OOO-EE-YAY TALESPIN OOO-EE-OHH TALESPIN - chronobyte, on 12/08/2008, -1/+108Not in the list, but I've always thought ThunderCats OP is pretty darn good. The intro animation is slick for an 80's cartoon series.

- GeeksSpeakFont, on 12/08/2008, -2/+63oh i love that "inspector gadget" song. the song is so much better than the show!

No Thundercats? - the_d, on 12/08/2008, -0/+40I'm sure this link will be dead in about 5 minutes, but here's an open directory full of old theme songs. The captain planet theme is now my ringtone.
http://themes.stumpnet.net/ - KevlarRelic, on 12/08/2008, -0/+38I ENJOY THINGS I REMEMBER
- irfanmp, on 12/08/2008, -0/+38I was thinking the same thing about all three (Darkwing Duck, Tale Spin and Captain Planet) and then I looked it up and saw that neither were in the 80s, but were in the 90s.
- WatchDragon, on 12/08/2008, -1/+38Good one, not 80s though.
- Twitchzor, on 12/08/2008, -2/+32Dugg for M.A.S.K
- BoneStamp, on 12/08/2008, -1/+30Gummi Bears was one of my favorite 80s cartoons... then I sing someone the theme song "bouncing here and there and everywhere..." and they're like, "nope. don't remember that show." The same artists did the DuckTales, Rescue Ranges and TaleSpin themes.
- lukemit, on 12/08/2008, -0/+28Holy *****! Try going through and clicking on all of the "play" buttons at the same time... my head almost exploded.
- nik15, on 12/08/2008, -3/+31I still think Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles should be number one
- OtterStratton, on 12/08/2008, -2/+28Also, although it is a outro and not an intro song, Captain Planet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQqfcIc9tkA
Earth! Fire! Wind! Water! Heart! Gooo Planet! - AndrewJC, on 12/08/2008, -1/+23As amazingly awesome as Animaniacs was, it was SO not during the 80s.
- DarkShroud, on 12/08/2008, -1/+20That's a 90's cartoon. Still awesome show though.
- PleaseJustDie, on 12/08/2008, -0/+19the 80's ended with 89... your childhood may not have, but the 80's did...
- joshmoney, on 12/08/2008, -0/+18http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDtdQ8bTvRc Yakko's nation song is still genius!
- addrake, on 12/08/2008, -0/+18C.O.P.S.
Fighting crime..in a future time.
Awesome intro.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye_VY-Ewh2M - burstaneurysm, on 12/08/2008, -1/+17You mean, 'did anyone see Vader's TIE Fighter in that clip?'
Take the needle out of your arm and pay attention. - ericdano, on 12/08/2008, -0/+15I believe Animaniacs is a 90s cartoon
- DarkShroud, on 12/08/2008, -0/+15At least Rugrats had great stories and was entertaining. Of all the crap my neice watches the only one that didn't make me want to kill myself was Kim Possible.
- AcousticBoom, on 12/08/2008, -0/+15There's no need for the videos. I can sing them myself as i normally do skipping around the office.
- jkendal4, on 12/08/2008, -0/+14Smurf #1: Hey, did you have a good time last night?
Smurf #2: Smurf-tacular!
Smurf #1: Yeah, I saw you leave with Smurfette.
Smurf #2: Oh man, as soon as we got out of the bar, she started smurfing me.
Smurf #1: Shut the Smurf up!
Smurf #2: Yeah!
Smurf #1: Right in the Smurfing parking lot?
Smurf #2: Smurf-Yeah!
Smurf #1: Oh! That is freaking Smurf! - da_bradler, on 12/08/2008, -0/+13Man when I have kids I'm going to make them watch all the old Dinsey cartoons. Darkwing Duck, Chip and dales, Tailspin, Gummi Bears, Duck Tails, Goof Troop. I mean man those along with the muppet babies and inspector gadget was my entire childhood. Although I did like Bobbys world, Life with Louie, and rocket robin(if I got up really early) I refused to watch Rupert(the worst), Babar(unless I was really desperate), and the smurfs.
and then like later childhood shows like Beast wars, i mean man i grew up during the ultimate era, now all the cartoons are just mass produced adobe illustrator garbage that looks like it could be made in an afternoon.
80s early 90s was the best era for cartoons, the money they pumped into making fewer but super high quality shows I don't think we will ever see again. Now there are more cartoons, but they are nowhere near the quality - wickensworth, on 12/08/2008, -0/+13Spin it when you spin it and you win it just to spin it and begin it when you're in it so let's spin it just to spin it
- inactive, on 12/08/2008, -0/+13G. I. jooooooooeeeeeeeeee
- Indierocka, on 12/08/2008, -0/+13but no tailspin?
- marv0, on 12/08/2008, -1/+13Ducktales should have been #1
- OtterStratton, on 12/08/2008, -3/+15Yeah, I had to pull a wikipedia journey too. All three were started in 1990 and in many ways were similar to these shows, especially the songs. And the 80s didn't necessarily end with 1989.
Also, all these shows were still part of my childhood. - vi3telit3, on 12/08/2008, -6/+17I'm not too old, but here's some of my favorites from my child hood that I still remember (although they aren't from the 80's). There way too many more to name.
Street Sharks - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ug5NdQ1zLHE
Samurai Pizza Cats - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXiJYcK4-GU

Albeit. . .an amazing theme. - Ghoztt, on 12/08/2008, -0/+11OOooh. Sorry, my bad.
- Br3ach, on 12/08/2008, -1/+11The show was awesome, the movie with Matthew "Ill be in anything" Broderick sucked ass
- cmadach, on 12/08/2008, -2/+12I really liked the Dr. Snuggles theme (not the bastardized American one).
- cyrusuncc, on 12/08/2008, -1/+11Life is like a hurricane, here in Duckburg
- djjustinjohnson, on 12/08/2008, -1/+11Dugg for 80s cartoons. My faves are 'Battle of the Planets' (AKA Gatchaman), 'Star Blazers', 'Thundarr the Barbarian', and 'Captain Caveman'.
- TheMidnight, on 12/08/2008, -0/+10It was Jungle Book characters. Shere Khan was also in it--the evil businessman-tiger?
- CurlyFoot, on 12/08/2008, -0/+10...and all of them from the 90's...
- ThinkRad, on 12/08/2008, -1/+10The TMNT theme gave me goosebumps on my balls.
- JasonAdams13, on 12/08/2008, -0/+9That's the only reason I dugg this.
BEST THEME SONG OF ALL TIME - jiqiren, on 12/08/2008, -1/+10I thought this was a bit creepy for the author to say, "My girlfriend likes this song so much that she insists I play it whenever we smurf". WTF?!
- nik3t, on 12/08/2008, -5/+14Anyone remember Swat Kats and The Centurions? Best shows ever.
- asskicker32, on 12/08/2008, -0/+9your generation's cartoons suck
