- popzero, on 06/05/2009, -1/+139I'm sure he'll be safe. Iraq has a much smaller bear population.
- idavidtang, on 06/05/2009, -2/+121ASCII what you did there.
- mizusajt, on 06/05/2009, -6/+103Take that liberals! You don't see Olbermann over there, do you?
- TheTaoOfBill, on 06/05/2009, -1/+79Colbert is an American Hero. By the end of the week his massive iron balls will rub off on our soldiers' massive iron balls to create a pair of gargantuan iron balls. This war will be over by the end of the week. Mark my words.
- elnerdo, on 06/05/2009, -3/+62Poor roflmaololstorm, a victim of the very thing he hates.
- irkalla, on 06/05/2009, -0/+54What's Egon from the Ghostbusters doing here?
- mandarin, on 06/05/2009, -1/+51man that sounds so gay
- jeffstevens199, on 06/05/2009, -3/+53Going Commando!
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -1/+44Balls touched, it's gay.
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -3/+46But... but... he's a liberal. Everyone knows all liberals hate the troops! I don't understand!
- MichaelCorleone, on 06/05/2009, -2/+41Wrist Strong
- Beatmiser, on 06/05/2009, -1/+36Pretty sure OP was being sarcastic...
- Langford, on 06/05/2009, -2/+33Something is wrong with my Digg, it's making me read all the comments in this thread in Colbert's voice.
- Ruger11mcrdpi, on 06/05/2009, -1/+32Good for Colbert, he has been a huge supporter of our Armed Forces. He's currently running a competition amongst the services via his website to raise money for school projects across the country that have high military-family numbers. Awesome Guy.
BTW There's ton of musicians, bands, comedians and actors that do trips like this, and trust me it's always a nice break to be able to come of patrol and have someone like Chuck Norris shaking hands and eating dinner with the guys. - SSPink, on 06/05/2009, -1/+31All real conservatives know that Stephen Colbert is a secret conservative who has pulled the wool over the libtards' eyes.
- divinediva, on 06/05/2009, -3/+32Stephen Colbert is heading to Iraq to entertain the troops.
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -8/+35OH MY GOD
THE BEST ASCII EVER MADE - mgraham80, on 06/05/2009, -3/+27He is a national treasure.
- SpinningHead, on 06/06/2009, -0/+23Funny that O'Reilly (aka Papa Bear) bailed on his trip to Iraq once he heard the military couldn't give him a 100% guarantee of his safety.
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 06/05/2009, -0/+20Yeah, it was pretty obvious last night's episode was pre-recorded. And since it was the Thursday one (last of the week), I assume that meant he had left the country already to prepare.
Safe trip, sir! - getoffmybridge, on 06/06/2009, -2/+22Great ascii, or the greatest ascii?
- mgraham80, on 06/05/2009, -3/+23oic wut u did there
- FuZi0nDET, on 06/06/2009, -0/+16How'd that glass of fail taste sir?
- nullx42, on 06/05/2009, -1/+15Shhhh. Lets keep the joke going on the conservatives. Steven is a conservative.
- defektiv, on 06/05/2009, -0/+14""Operation Iraqi Stephen: Going Commando" is taking place at an undisclosed military base in conjunction with the USO, with all shows taped in front of an audience of troops."
Thank God they got it right. I honestly read that article totally expecting someone to have disclosed the location. I would say congrats to media for finally getting it right, but comedy central has kind of always been the light in dark times, and more competent than all mainstream outlets combined. - guntario, on 06/06/2009, -0/+11@smokestack
The troops I know, including myself as a former Navy ET, my brother who is still enlisted and has done two tours in Iraq, and my father who served in the Army at Vietnam, don't really give a crap about liberals or conservatives. We care about what the person does. You may be so petty as to take a name and place a value to it, but we aren't. - inactive, on 06/06/2009, -0/+11From one Canadian to another: STFU! Just go to the Comedy Network site and see the video.
- Equinamin, on 06/05/2009, -0/+11They deserve the best.
- siszam, on 06/06/2009, -2/+13Oh really smokestack? I'm a Christian Socialist. My father was too and he served over 20 years in the Army. My oldest son is a Marine who served in Iraq. He told me most of his friends know the war is based on lies and know they are being killed for nothing. He voted for Obama as did many of his friends. I think the troops see through the lies and know that Republicans only want to profit and pretend to be armchair warriors while they sacrifice the troops. But you go on believing that people enjoy being maimed and killed. I guess it helps you deal with all the blood on your hands.
- getoffmybridge, on 06/06/2009, -0/+8Yeah, shocking...
/s - Sil369, on 06/06/2009, -1/+9those are some big lips he has
- pfhayter, on 06/05/2009, -0/+7I can't remember how the words go BUT when they take out the clues and ran the segment song I almost fell off the chair.
- crazystar, on 06/06/2009, -0/+7"I have two last pieces of advice. First, being pre-approved for a credit card does not mean you have to apply for it. And lastly, the best career advice I can give you is to get your own TV show. It pays well, the hours are good, and you are famous. And eventually some very nice people will give you a doctorate in fine arts for doing jack squat."
- demiz23, on 06/05/2009, -0/+7let us all forget that ever even happened
- birch25, on 06/06/2009, -0/+6You can't learn sarcasm in school ;)
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -5/+11Nothing much. The Right just need someone to point to when they want us to turn a blind eye to Rush and Hannity.
- dsmx, on 06/05/2009, -0/+6don't worry I've already got my fleet of c47's shipping the bears in sealed crates to iraq so it feels just like america when he gets there.
- gforce051, on 06/06/2009, -0/+6Where in the world and when in time is Stephen Colbert going to be in the Persian Gulf?
How many weeks? How many Sheiks? Do they cover their women or will we get a peek?
Where in the world and when in time is Stephen Colbert going to be in the Persian Gulf? - inactive, on 06/05/2009, -1/+7Iraq is still rated as the most dangerous country on earth. worse than Afghanistan.

- sfelton, on 06/06/2009, -0/+4Watch out terrorists, Colbert is going to put an end to your job in Iraq in just one week.
- bpwrinn, on 06/05/2009, -0/+4Can't wait to see him take to the streets.
