Wow, a Star Wars show set in space. She clearly has some good contacts on the inside. - inactive, on 07/15/2009, -1/+32Star Wars is dead. Treasure your memories.
- Pxtl, on 07/15/2009, -1/+28Penny Arcade did it 4 years ago.
http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2005/04/27/ - hokans777, on 07/15/2009, -0/+23I doubt this woman knows what she's talking about. She said "family drama...or something."
And for some reason she felt the need to tell us that a Star Wars TV series will be set in space. Really? I had no idea. - everyonegohome, on 07/15/2009, -0/+16please let it be the onion, please let it be the onion, please let it be the onion, aww *****
- Xaevier, on 07/15/2009, -1/+16Oh Lord please take me now before this TV series destroys what little hope I had left for this franchise to survive Spielberg's rampage...
- reuscel, on 07/15/2009, -0/+13"Anakin: You are so...beautiful.
Padme: It's only because I'm so in love.
Anakin: No. No, it's because I'm so in love with you.
Padme: Then love has blinded you?
Anakin: Well...that's not exactly what I meant.
Padme: But it's probably true."
If this is the kind of family drama we can expect from Lucas and Co., consider me uninterested. - kiffar, on 07/15/2009, -0/+10WHAT. THE. *****.
- travisg100, on 07/15/2009, -0/+10A New Hope
- indyGuy, on 07/15/2009, -0/+9I can hear my kids now... "Daddy, are the bears with the spears going to be in it??"
- rightmindx, on 07/15/2009, -0/+8I think you mean Lucas, not Spielberg.
- antoniuk, on 07/15/2009, -0/+8Up next National Lampoon's Star Wars Vacation starring Zach Galifianakis as Chet Cloudsmoker
- ahhell, on 07/15/2009, -0/+7Worst dialog...EVAR!!
- OLTP, on 07/15/2009, -1/+7Why do I care what extra from Attack of the Clones thinks? She's not even attached to the TV show at all.
- bjs3171, on 07/15/2009, -0/+6wow. awesome interview. and yes. the new show is gonna be"set in space", and "like, a family drama...or something".
I believe this is definitive proof. i mean, if she knows it's gonna be set in space, clearly she has detailed information. - Amadeus2490, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5Timothy Zahn kept it alive*
- indyGuy, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5You still have hope?
- DarkBlueAnt, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5Damn you for beating me to it... here's your stinking Digg... :(
- smitas, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5See family traditions are respected and accepted now too............;)
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4You're comparing Star Trek and Star Wars, the only things they have in common is that they are both in space, and "star" in the title. They're both great, but you can't compare the two, they're doing different things.
- Scrappy1850, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4KOTOR
- LeeMaple, on 07/15/2009, -1/+5Raped and left for dead like Indiana Jones.
- ZenMojo, on 07/15/2009, -1/+5Even as a little kid I only really liked Empire. That and the Ewok cartoon...hm. Maybe my priorities were messed up.
- masterkenobi, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4I hope the show becomes as successful as Ewok Adventures! :D
- viper001, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4Just when you thought they couldn't ruin it anymore. There's no such thing as rock bottom with Lucas -- star wars is a god damn bottomless pit.
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4Well wasn't X-Wing Alliance kind of a family drama story? That was a pretty bad ass game, I dunno why everyone loves Tie Fighter so much but not Xwing vs Tie Fighter or Xwing Alliance, I thought they were both better games...
Actually though, they should make a show based on the X-wing alliance family, it was really good it was like a family shipping business that got caught up with the rebellion because the dad helped the alliance out evacuating people from Hoth and then their home got blown up and they fled to the rebel fleet and your character joins red squadron or whatever, it was cool. - ErrorLoading, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3I got it. This has to be true. Somewhere, a group of people sit around thinking of ways to ruin everything in existence. They find something good and eventually find a way to ruin it. If it is too good to ruin it, they shove it in your face until you are sick of it. If something once existed that was good, they have to revive it to ruin it. It's all a plan. I see it.
- jupaneanu, on 07/15/2009, -1/+4Oh yes, that's gonna be a big hit...not!
- Scrappy1850, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3did you see the xmas special? this is nothing new...
- punisher101, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Epic Fail! Lucas just wants shovel in more money by diluting his Star Wars brand into family oriented drivel. What a complete sellout!
- swizzcheez, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Yeah! They should build a series from the Star Wars Holiday Special too!
I mean, there's plenty of back story where Chewy falls in love with Snuffalupagus and all... - Yage2006, on 07/16/2009, -0/+3How ***** stupid can the producers of this show be.
Why not just make a daytime soap opera.
It is almost like they are going out of their way to make a show that no STAR WARS fan will be able to enjoy. - indyGuy, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3I tried to be a good geek dad, introducing them to the trilogy. I ... tried. *sob*
- ViscidGobs, on 07/16/2009, -0/+3Excuse me but you forgot the best or should I say worst line from that exchange in Revenge of the Sith.
Scene on landing deck.
Padme
I don't know you anymore.
Ya. Even Carrie Fisher had better lines than that. - sanman, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3was that the one with Chewbacca's family?
- falconear, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2Suddenly this makes me want to find copies of the old 'Droids' cartoon.
- inactive, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2this may be ***** but rosa byrnes is ***** epic. id advise you all to watch Two Hands, it stars her and a young Heath Ledger. It's one of the few great Australian films.
- spookyttws, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Why can't we just let the property be?!
- MattM0914, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Damn, you beat me to it.
- edwadokun, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2this proves nothing.. she barely even knows anything about it
- threon, on 07/16/2009, -1/+3I heard it will basically be "The Brady Bunch" in space.
- AraleNorimaki, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/187269/?sear ...
- Amadeus2490, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWaLxFIVX1s
- Darksoul, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Why are you people bitching about this, it seems like she doesn't know ***** about the new show and even if her friend is a writer I seriously doubt that he could say anything about the show without getting fired. Come on most of you people are basing off somebody that said this "the new show is gonna be"set in space".......
Buried and janinekahn your an idiot. - mlvassallo, on 07/15/2009, -1/+3I knew they were going to ***** this up. They had examples. BSG was sooo good and something along those lines with the material built in the Star Wars EU could have been Ratings ***** Gold.
- Cartman86, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2I'm telling you guys this show might actually be great. Star Wars not written by Lucas? Written by a group of "good writers", does not contain any of the main characters from the films as primary roles, and it's going to have a huge budget, and Lucas has always said he is going for a Sopranos feal to it. I don't know about you but that sounds awesome.
- UselessTrivia, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2This should inspire hope in everyone! Fear not that it is a family drama....LUCAS IS NOT WRITING IT!
That's good news as far as I'm concerned. - sanman, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2and left for Shia
- sanman, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Padme: I - I've been hiding something. I'm pregnant.
Yoda: Know, does he? - seanthebond, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1I miss The WB.
