- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+27Why, so he can deliver his forced unfunny puns too fast and get mad when no one laughs?
Norm MacDonald owns this skit for eternity. - pooper, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13They just need better writers... thelonelyisland crew has revived SNL somewhat with their Digital Shorts... if only Lorne would keep more of their skits..
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+18SNL died a long, long time ago.
After Chris Farely passed and Will Ferrel, Jimmy Fallon, and Chris Kattan thought they were actors, the show has sucked big time. - msecoske, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10apparently you, since you looked at the post.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11One of the people on the show that's actually funny.
- daberkman, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Do you really find Dennis Miller funny or do you just like his politics? I find him unwatchable. He's like Bill Maher to me, smart and overeager to prove it to you. I don't even think he's conservative, he just thinks it's a schtick that'll help him appeal where he's not funny. Apparently, for you, it worked.
- SpacemanSpiff, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9I like the "The couple that should be divorced!" skits.
- Supafly, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Claim: Comedian Dennis Miller is the author of "A Brief Overview of the Situation," an Internet-circulated essay about the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Status: False.

"This diatribe is actually part of a column by humorist Larry Miller which appeared in the Daily Standard on 22 April 2002. It is a reaction piece to a 10 April 2002 FOX News Network interview conducted by Greta van Susteren with Ishmael Abu-Shanab, spokesman for the Hamas political wing in the Gaza strip, and American attorney Stanley Cohen, who has represented the head of Hamas."

[sarcasm] Yeah, you're right. All those years with Will Ferrell ('95-'02) were torturous. [/sarcasm] - jer2eydevil88, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9SNL had a revival period yes, and those were the comedians that revived it. Yet you cannot dismiss it entirely because there are still funny people born everyday and there is a good chance that the best of them will end up on SNL and later become the big name celebs of tomorrow.
- op12, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10She's already married to Gob, guy.
- Jrr6415sun, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7definitely the best choice. Amy and Seth have the best chemistry, when they first joined I thought they were married.
- humblepatience, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9Who the heck is Seth myers

Thank you. - adamnikyo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5actually, you're all wrong. the episode hosted by natalie portman last season was one of the funniest ever. the current cast is one of the best. maybe you could write a letter to Lorne and ask for more Star Trek skits. i'm sorry you suck.
- Pile, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Colin Quinn.. perhaps the least talented human being who has EVER appeared in front of a tv camera. This guy can't say a single sentence properly. He must have blown half of hollywood to get where he is today.
Dennis Miller was relatively decent until he turned into a spineless whore. His career lasted shorter than Andrew Dice Clay at a Melissa Etheridge concert. Norm McDonald... drunk no-talent ass-clown... saw him in person.. he's even less funny, if that's possible. - Pile, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4The 80s absolutely sucked for SNL (hello? Joe Piscapo??) Of course, Eddie Murphy shined, but he would have done well anywhere. The 90s with Dana Carvey and crew was pretty funny, but without Phil Hartman, the show took a huge nosedive. Phil was the anchor for the show, and some of his skits will probably go down in history as being the best ever of SNL (Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer is my favorite). Chris Kattan with the stupid monkey boy skit was beaten to death, as were all his lame skits -- the B&T disco guys were funny for about ten seconds-- and they made a movie of it? The show is mostly dim now... you have to wonder how some of those utterly stupid skits get approved... they are just plain BAD. The whole show probably needs a completel housecleaning. Or better yet, it needs to be cancelled.
- elebrio, on 10/12/2007, -7/+8those would be some ugly kids. ;p
- Nobi-Wan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I loved it when they covered it with a blueberry pancake, deep fried it, then put it in an extra large bag filled with chili.
- tzuriel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I will be interested to see the chemistry between Meyers and Poehler in WU. He has a hard to act to follow in Tina Fey. I thought she and Amy worked really well together. Plus they're both pretty hot.

http://tzuriel.servehttp.com:81/snl - virtualball, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Lorne Michaels needs to retire. hes ben on it to long and is too old. I blame him for the reason SNL's comedy died. If they had someone new and younger, it would be funny. But I think its only funny to high frat boys now.
"HAHAHA Collin Farrel is beating up a giant cockroach!!! Man this couldn't be any funnier--pass the weed!" - LongtimeSNLfan, on 10/19/2008, -0/+0Seth Meyers Must Die! It is my understanding that this guy writes a vast majority of the skits that are now seen on SNL. Well I have been watching the show since it was first aired and have never seen more lame skits and sophomoric comedy in my life! This guy SUCKS!! The only thing that has kept the show afloat for the last 5 years is Tina Fey. She is BRILLIANT! Pleeeeeeease STAND UP AND SHOUT FROM THE ROOFTOPS----"SETH MEYERS MUST DIE!!!!" this awful ech..ech..ech..comedy? is PITIFULL if somebody out there has a large caliber weapon and lives in NY please put this guy and the rest of the viewing public out of their misery!!!
- nicko68, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That's weird. I've seen the "Taco Town" commercial a couple of times (replayed) and I've never seen the funeral home part. Did your affiliate mess up the feed, or is that how it was supposed to be?
- Gigohead1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like Norm Macdonald. He's very quiet and polite in person. I'm a big fan. Seth should have gotten the gig last year. I'm not big on Amy. she's great in sketches but her goofy face annoys me sometimes.
- SlashNot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I dont find him very funny, but then again Quit watching SNL awhile ago.
- ArmyOfFun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That mega taco commercial is awesome (even with proper editing) easily one of the funniest things on the show in the past few seasons. Actually, most of their fake commercials are still pretty funny.
SNL has *always* had a problem with running sketches too long. I think the show would be a lot better if they shortened it to an hour (instead of 90 minutes). I think a lot of the redundancy is just filler (and not entertaining). The show is much better when you have the ability to fast forward through the sketches that clearly don't work or are too repetitive. - xGORDOx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm glad Tina Fey is gone, as head writer she is why SNL hasn't been funny in years.
Good riddance. - op12, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Improv is quite a bit different than a scripted show which has writers. You're not necessarily listening to his own humor, which apparently you didn't enjoy.
- greenamp, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Guess that means Seth Meyers is on his way out. Weekend Update is basically the hallway leading to the exit door.
- BabyWookie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Wow. Dennis Miller sure makes himself sound like one biggoted, hateful prick there.
And WTF is "G-d's Earth"? Is he really afraid to say the Lord's name in vain? Too funny. - spinemangler, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4Yeah, It was a sad day when Norm stopped doing the weekend update.
They lost my luggage followed closley in number 2 by "I didnt like being in that firey plane crash" - daberkman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Wait, I don't get it. Someone is impersonating you? I guess I'm kind of new to digg but why in christ's name would someone do this? Do they know you outside of digg or something?
- scharfie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1It's not a taco until it's wrapped in a deep-dish Chicago style pizza.
- geronimo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Last time I saw Seth Myers was at Boom Chicago in Amsterdam where he did improv. Did he become funny since then or is he still the smirking high school-level comedian?
- scagnetti, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1A little OT, but did anyone else find it funny that Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is being aired on the same network as SNL?
- glev2005, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I was watching SNL a few months ago and I thought they were getting funny again. It was the first episode I'd seen in a while.. it was some skit about this mega taco that had all these ludicrous ingredients, with such phrases as "pizza, now thats what i call a taco!" exclaimed in chorus. then a clip of a funeral home interrupted the taco commercial and it became a commercial for a funeral home for 5 seconds, then back to the taco..Well i thought this was great and laughed aloud (something I hadn't done at SNL for years). Later I realized it was an editing error, and the funeral home skit aired about a half hour later.
Moral to this story: SNL fire your hack writers, and stop thinking with the skits "the longer the better" running a dumb joke into the ground is funny once in a blue moon, not weekly.
PPS. dig me down, ill still be cooler than you all (and right) - beedun, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Sexist Pig.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2No, it's because I disagree with his extremist right wing politics, and those people are all pretty immature. It's ok though, he's been banned now. At least until he creates another account which I'm sure won't be long
- opitica, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2SNL just give up.
- jdawg18, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4op12, I love the Arrested Development reference :)
- smithco, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3Astro, to those of who are fans of the old SNL, the Farrell years are tortuous.
The years with Will Farrel just can't even be compared to those of Jim Belushi, Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd and Chevy Chase, even all the way up to the years of Phil Hartman and Mike Myers.
The early years of SNL were comedy genious, the years of Will Farrell were at best worth a few chuckles. - axxiom, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4The popular Tina Fey? Are they talking about the crappy, show has sucked since she became lead writer, Tina Fey?
Tina Fey isn't funny. Her writing wasn't any good. Women are not funny. They are devices built by the lord jesus christ for man's entertainment. - Topher06, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Gee, out of the 2006-2007 cast, I guess its the best they can do. The only other option is, perhaps, to end Weekend update because it hasn't been funny since, well . . .
Haven't watched SNL since the Sandler,Farely years so maybe I should give Seth a chance. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3Just ignore this idiot. He's nothing more than a pathetic ***** troll who follows me around and posts only in the threads that I do. He's a racist and a scumbag and you'd do well just to put him on ignore, or report him to abuse@digg.com
- millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -16/+11People still watch SNL?
- jd72277, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3Chris Farley was a one-trick pony. I can't believe you consider his movies (or should I say "movie", since they were all the same) better than a Will Ferrel movie. I will agree with you on the Jimmy Fallon and Chris Kattan part though.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4Norm never got any laughs for anything he did on that show. It's sad.
I think Dennis Miller was the best at Weekend Update. - Pile, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4SNL is still on the air? They should just put that dog to rest. It hasn't been funny for years...
- dalewj, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Fake News? There isnt a sperm bank in nofolk va? damn
- millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4Is it possible to be less than zero?
