- amabaie, on 04/11/2009, -1/+10If we lay off enough letters, will the kids at school have recess all day long?
- agentsrecord, on 04/11/2009, -0/+9“Sesame Street was in a tough spot, and they had to make cuts,” said Dr. Frontloaded Pederast.

12 years ago, a better funnier joke IMHO - Maynza, on 04/12/2009, -0/+7We can just make due with the other letters.
"I think the cuestion here is, were they being oversealous, or was it gust time to make their ecksit." - bluebirdgm, on 04/12/2009, -0/+6Semicolons were overqualified to work at Sesame Street anyway. But they do a good job of reducing the need for highly-paid capital letters and delegating the same work to the lowercase.
- idavidcrockett, on 04/12/2009, -0/+5it's okay, N can fill in for Z, but nobody can replace Q,X, or J.
they shoulda fired: W and kept M, p and b and kept d.
- Bainemo, on 04/12/2009, -0/+5The word "black" is unnecessary in that sentence. Just thought you ought to know.
- thatonekid393, on 04/12/2009, -0/+5Exactly what I was wondering.
- robertisaar, on 04/12/2009, -0/+5no, it saved you 1 keystroke... the shift button counts as well.
kind of like @... - shenlong73, on 04/12/2009, -0/+4How did you forget Xzibit?
- Ramenboy005, on 04/12/2009, -1/+5no they forced him to go to rehab...and start eating veggies arouns six months ago
- D3PyroGS, on 04/12/2009, -1/+5At least they're gonna leave my buddy ampersand.
Typing & instead of "and" has saved me countless 2-character keystrokes resulting in hours of extra productivity. - kanoonthephone, on 04/12/2009, -0/+3Least funny website ever.
- inactive, on 04/12/2009, -0/+3I take it the letter O is being undercut by cheap immigrant U and Es then?
- one504, on 04/11/2009, -4/+7The joke's on Sesame Street, because Desmond Llewelyn died in a car crash 10 years ago. I wonder who has been cashing his checks?
- inactive, on 04/12/2009, -0/+3Yes/No.
There was an article 2-3 years ago, mostly interviews with the cast/crew. But at one point, they discussed cut backs, how they used to produce 30-35 episodes per year and every few years they've had to cut an episode, to the point where they were asked to cut it down to 22-24, which provoked a comment from a producer "Great, which letters of the alphabet do we layoff?". - weikerx, on 04/12/2009, -0/+3I hope it's not gonna be Zorro, Jonny Quest and Xena, or they'll all be screwed!
- TheXuu, on 04/12/2009, -0/+3Dude FAIL! In the article the second paragraph in it has a quote stating that it was K and not J that was layed off. And this was written by the "Executive Editor".. Psh.
- inactive, on 04/12/2009, -0/+2Racial profiling!
- McWombo, on 04/13/2009, -0/+2You're.
- McWombo, on 04/13/2009, -0/+2It's actually, "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."
"Jumps", not "jumped". Otherwise, the sentence doesn't include every character of the alpahbet, as it was intended. - kerfuffleninja, on 04/12/2009, -0/+2Thank you. My feelings exactly.
Then again, won't this make our kind even specialer? My English teachers really dig the interrobang, so this is just another soon-to-be-obsolete punctuation mark that we can use as much as possible so we have to explain it to everyone.
Won't this be fun‽ - hiro, on 04/12/2009, -0/+2Woohoo, that means Americans will have to learn to spell organise/randomise etc properly!
- TheXuu, on 04/12/2009, -0/+2J didn't get fired... The article is wrong. it was K.
