"As an experiment, the Season 5 finale episode "My Transition" (#5.24) was finished and aired in High Definition. Scrubs is the first network show to their on-line edit in Final Cut Pro SD, and with this episode becomes the first network show to HD on-line on Final Cut Pro. However the show continues to be produced in Standard Definition. According to the producer, Randall Winston: "After a lot of teasing, yes, the HD was an experiment, for everyone really. We will not be doing any more HD - there is a cost that no one is interested in covering and there is debate, not among us here at the show, about how the quality stands up. I don't think that we can get the look that the show is designed around [by using] tape."

- shortstack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the directors and the producers say that the stock they shoot on makes more sense for the show, which is a low key set up. also, not everyone is too keen on HD. HD gives actual images, whereas 8mm film and other types of film stock give different values. also, i do not have an HDTV, and can't afford one, which means i don't care that much.

- 5hop4orce, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3There seems to be a slippery slope at work here, just like there was with political articles in Digg 1.0. A lot of videos don't fit the categories in the video section, and there's no reason to condemn an otherwise informative article to the video section just because there's a video attached. So people are going to see justifiably "miscategorized" submissions, and people are going to defend those submissions, which will lead to confusion on the part of people like this ***** who just submit to the wrong category because they want to get more hits. Why do they want more hits? God only knows. At least the political fanatics believe they're making a difference--maybe the people submitting these videos are also obsessed fanboys. The frustrating thing is that there's no clear black/white resolution to this issue. Which category a submission belongs under is always going to be a judgment call to some extent.

I keep watching season one and I don't know, it just can't compare. JD is starting to grate on my nerves, he's really whiny this season, and all the baby drama.. Eh. It's not as light-hearted as it was, that's for sure.

Scrubs is brilliant. - WiidFiend, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I've actually been pleasantly surprised by this season...I thought they'd been losing steam the last two seasons after the JD/Elliot romance finally dead-ended, but there's been a bit of a rebound lately. The writing seems fresher, and I feel like Zach Braff is taking his over-the-top style down a peg. Nevertheless, the musical disappointed me a bit; I found it amateurish. Maybe I'd appreciate it more with a repeat viewing.

- manova, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There have been much better musicals in shows before (Buffy and Drew Carey come to mind), but it was okay. This song was a good part. I'm glad they made the music something other than a day dream. The 50's song sucked!!!!
- wingnut21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I used to think that anything linking to google video, youtube, or whatever should automatically go to the videos section, but sometimes legitimate news can be in the form of a video, too. "News" posts just need to be more sensitive to people marking it as being in the incorrect category. I think a lot of people don't take the time to mark something as being in the wrong category because you never get a sense of it doing anything. Maybe having it show that "15 people marked this as being in the wrong topic" would help. Hey, why not, it shows how many diggs a story gets and how many mod ups or down comments receive.

- letterten, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1in the last few years, shows in their last or near-last season don't want to rejigger everything and upgrade to HD equipment. happened with friends, will & grace, etc. if they shoot on film, all they would need to do on set is frame for 16:9 (or 5:3) and then do a film transfer.
