- tehbored, on 11/11/2007, -3/+112First he was the Terminator. Then he was the Governator. Now, witness the awesome might of The Mediator!
- shaka776, on 11/10/2007, -3/+35ack... between this and some of the other leadership qualities (dealing with the recent fires come to mind), I'm starting to think this guy might actually be a good Governor.
By the way, does anybody remember the Batman Comic, I'm thinking it was a graphic novel, that had Schwarzenegger being such a great leader that congress amended the Contstitution so that foreign-born citizens could run for President... and that subsequently Arnold was elected? It was late 80's or early nineties...kinda freaky... - LocalMotion125, on 11/10/2007, -2/+22Say what you want, he's a decent politician.
- cambrown99, on 11/14/2007, -1/+14I can't get that video out of my head from the Daily Show a week or so back where he was telling Geraldo "Look how happy all the peoples are. Even the pets are happy. The big dogs are playing with the little dogs" about the displaced people at the stadium in San Diego.
- chris9902, on 11/11/2007, -0/+10He's from the future so he knows how this is going to end.
- lcarsdeveloper, on 11/10/2007, -1/+11"Get over here, the Governor wants you to see a dog!"
- TheSkinsFactory, on 11/11/2007, -1/+8Well I like him a helluva lot better than the "decider" :-)
- tehxen3, on 11/10/2007, -2/+9Arnold's solution about writers: terminate them.
- LordSeth, on 11/10/2007, -0/+6It was Sly who was in the movie in which the made reference to the Schwarzenegger Library and go on to say how he became president
- fantasticFlan, on 11/09/2007, -0/+6It's late, so I might be misreading you, but did you just say if TV didn't suck people might decide not to watch it?
- mythicflux, on 11/10/2007, -0/+4Well at least he isn't a total tool like Grey Davis was. Looking at how Arnold handled the 2007 wildfires makes Davis' inaction in 2003 look all the more pathetic. Within 12 hours of the the major fires in San Diego Arnold was physically in San Diego making sure everyone knew who was in charge and at what level. In addition to this he pledged all the support he could offer. In 2003, Davis sat around for days before taking any kind of action leaving most of the San Diego area scrambling to figure out what they could do and state legislators scrambling to call in favors because the Governor refused to at least try and act like he was in charge.
The point, regardless of what you think of his policies, Governor Schwarzenegger at least tries to lead. - inactive, on 11/09/2007, -0/+4The early terminators had rubber skin, they were easy to recognize. But then they started using synthetic polymers and we had to start using dogs to detect them.
Synthethic What?
Real human flesh!!!
(yeah i'm butchering the quotes here, lol) - maxyRO, on 11/09/2007, -1/+4i thought he was gonna write some shows, sigh
- BarneyF, on 11/10/2007, -0/+2Government mediation of labor disputes is very common in German speaking countries. The goal is to reduce the damage such disputes can cause the economy
- capiCrimm, on 11/10/2007, -1/+3"come here quick, i want you to see this dog."
- chaos7, on 11/09/2007, -0/+2arnold is the man
- riverstyx, on 11/09/2007, -1/+3He was also behind the strike that the orange county bus system had a few months ago. Did a good job actually, he prevented people who wanted to work from not working and those who didnt want to work to not have to, because they still had the strike a few months later, or whatever.
Writers strike? It'll blow over, I wouldnt sweat it. My advice is to pay them more and pay the less-deserving less. - John0877, on 11/10/2007, -0/+2its not about the actors genius its about the writers that get ***** for pay when the creativity comes from them. without them there is no show for the actors to act in.
- liquisoft, on 11/09/2007, -0/+2He definitely should be talking to both sides to get this strike over and done with. The strike is costing the California economy millions of dollars a day! Los Angeles especially relies upon the entertainment industry, and without shows and films in production the money is slowly seeping away.
- RollFizzlebeef, on 11/10/2007, -0/+2If anyone ever needed a script, it's Arnie.
Otherwise, you'd see "Fantastic: The Movie" at your local multiplex. - fuzzynyanko, on 11/09/2007, -0/+2I think out of a lot of government officials, he'd be a good choice for a mediator since he actually was part of show business.
- alostpacket, on 11/09/2007, -0/+2if the talks are so secret his own staff doesn't know about it, how is it that politico knows? I really don't have an opinion on him as a governor but the article is so light on details it smells like a PR release.
- Guitarzan, on 11/10/2007, -0/+2i miss the daily show...
- p3ngwin, on 11/10/2007, -1/+2yeah, DEMOLITION MAN. Sandra Bullock says in the car with Stallone that "his popularity at the time caused the 51st Amendment and he was elected president...."
- shuaigex, on 11/09/2007, -1/+2Dugg for "Jingle All The Way"
- kylere, on 11/11/2007, -1/+2This is complete fantasy, dugg down. Tina Fey mentioned that she was hoping for this in an interview, and it looks like that has turned into this bogus story. Nothing to see here, stop giving ad revenue to BS.
- Cwo655321, on 11/09/2007, -2/+3what? wasn't that sly?
- fuzzynyanko, on 11/09/2007, -0/+1The Presinator... Not as macho-sounding as the Governator. The sad thing is that if he went against any of either party's front runners, he'd do a good job because a lot of people can't think of why the other guys would be any more qualified than he is.
- mwalker05, on 11/09/2007, -0/+1i would pay to see it anyway
- heystoopid, on 11/09/2007, -1/+1obviously then his appearance at the recent flash fires in and around San Diego destroying 1800 homes and burning out 800 square miles was nothing but a vote gathering chore to be seen doing something when he did SFA as it was all FEMA funds paying the bills !
- heystoopid, on 11/10/2007, -1/+1It all depends on the type of deal he is trying to broker !for MPAA is looking at trillion dollars plus in net profits if they can swing the next generation after DVD !
- heystoopid, on 11/09/2007, -1/+1for a man who spends a lot of time out of state trying to garner support to change certain laws !
- heystoopid, on 11/09/2007, -1/+1Well he should have been happy for FEMA was paying all the bills for him and very little came out of his tattered state budget !
- mythicflux, on 11/10/2007, -0/+0Did I state I was going to give him a "pass" as you call it? I never made any statement about his fiscal policies. My statement was not attempt to oversimplify the situation and judge a person based solely on one criteria. In my world I realize that all people are multifaceted. We all make mistakes and we all do good deeds. Ultimately I choose not to base my entire world view on a snap decision I make based on a negative outlook.
Has Schwarzenegger made mistakes? Yes he has. That however does not change the fact that when my family and friends were being evacuated due to the wildfires that we didn't all take comfort in the fact that our elected official actually showed up, did his job, and told us he was doing everything he could. And if that act alone isn't enough to represent what makes at least a decent leader then I pity your world view and inability to think beyond your need hate everything.
Do me a favor, go stand on your soap box and continue shouting loudly, at some point someone might actually take you seriously. - alpha754293, on 11/09/2007, -1/+1Kudos to him. He realizes how this strike is hurting the massive motion picture industry in his state and needs to help move it along in order to curb losses. I see him as the guy [in Austrian accent] "Can't we all get along?"
- ogden, on 11/10/2007, -2/+1He's a terrible governor for 1 reason: Spending. We are headed into a massive fiscal crisis because he and the legislature spent all the unsustainable housing market tax income instead of using it to pay down our debts and establish a rainy day fun. We're looking at about a 10 billion dollar shortfall this year because tax revenues have returned to *normal* levels.
- LordSeth, on 11/09/2007, -6/+5I am still waiting for the prophecy in Demolition Man to come true. Go President Arnold.
- ogden, on 11/10/2007, -1/+0Listen to yourself? Yes Davis was an ***** but he was actually *MORE* fiscally responsible than Schwarzenegger, and Davis was impeached for his fiscal irresponsibility! You're going to give a guy a pass on bankrupting the state because he came down to SD for a photo op?
If you represent the majority than we truly have the governance we deserve. - heystoopid, on 11/09/2007, -2/+1Ah a T1000 model , having a bit of trouble with cold feet in liquid nitrogen and an electric arc steel furnace are we ?
- Wiini, on 11/09/2007, -3/+1Pshh... he could've just had them relax like he used to: http://www.basicintellects.com/arnold.cfm
And remember, HE'S COMING! - GovernmentSp00k, on 11/10/2007, -7/+1A TV writers strike and we're all supposed to be concerned for the poor rich hollywood actors? BooHoo! So many other protests for much worthier causes. Yet no governor or politician ever becomes involved, much less cares at all. No news coverage either, unless it's to ridicule. Without a TV Writer's Guild they wouldn't have TV show entertainment to keep us distracted.
- heystoopid, on 11/10/2007, -7/+1What cheap ass turncoat trying to undermine the writers guild is he ?
- XXXXXXXXXXXXXX, on 11/09/2007, -9/+2EEHTS NAHT A TOOMAH
- inactive, on 11/10/2007, -20/+4These are just little mind games to get you to accept him.
He's a nazi.
