- fleecejohnson, on 07/11/2009, -1/+38I censored South Park in my house once I realized that Cartman was mocking me and my body type.
It's glandular. <sniff> - harris2004, on 07/11/2009, -5/+38Go Southpark. Its the only show which can make Russians insecure.
- TobiasParker, on 07/11/2009, -6/+36You mean like when they couldn't show Muhommed?
- BotchaMcCoola, on 07/10/2009, -5/+34This is one way the US is still tops. We never make ourselves look weak with actions like that, do we?
- jman583, on 07/11/2009, -0/+14It's, "In Soviet Russia..."
- inactive, on 07/11/2009, -6/+18recently, there was a russian comedian whose material included poking fun at americans (as well as russians themselves) who was going to come to NYC to do a show for the russian-speaking community in brooklyn. guess what? americans denied him entry based on that alone.
so before you start crying about the big, bad, evil russians, consider the fact that every country has these kinds of controls on foreign media. ever wonder why you don't see north korea's propaganda on your tv? - blackraven3600, on 07/11/2009, -0/+8Absolutely no one has the right to censor anything, ever. Information should flow free. Anyone wanting to build a bomb will find out how, censored or not. This is very sad in part of the Russian media and shows that the government still controls what we see and hear (I'm Russian). They can pretend not to censor anything but when it comes to making fun of political figures it all starts to show.
- HAL90000, on 07/11/2009, -1/+8That was not a government mandated decision though, there's a difference.
- GeyserShitdick, on 07/11/2009, -1/+7The network censored that, not the government.
- MooseOfReason, on 07/11/2009, -0/+6Nah, we just censor the nudity and profanity.

- johnboycanada, on 07/11/2009, -0/+5I feel a whole "Eric Cartman goes to Russia" episode coming on...
- MooseOfReason, on 07/11/2009, -0/+5I don't get it. What are you giving the FCC credit for?
- MellowGamer, on 07/11/2009, -1/+540 years ago communism was a massive threat like terrorism is today. Until those people who still have the "communist fear" in them die or stop working there will always be someone in there who dislikes Russians. I watch a few 50s "US documentaries" about the russians every now and then just for the laughs. I wonder if people in 50 years will do the same with us about terrorists.
- spookyttws, on 07/11/2009, -1/+5As much as I hate the FCC, and boy do I hate them (and think they have no place in modern media), I have to give them credit. Showing ***** and saying '*****" may not make it to our TVs, but at least we can lampoon anyone we feel like...except Mohammad (as South Park also illustrated: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartoon_Wars_Part_I%2 ... but that was Comedy Central, not the FCC.
But Jon Stewart always puts it best: http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-july-1-2009/ ... - inactive, on 07/11/2009, -0/+4Vladimir Putin aint nuttin to ***** with.
- MotoFly, on 07/11/2009, -0/+4Well this two different cases of censorship. The U.S. may require certain words to be edited or *bleeped* out on certain channels, however we can pretty much say whatever we want about the government. Assuming we are not trying to incite violence towards another individual. This segment barely poked fun at the Russian space program and it was banned all together. A countless number of shows and cartoons made fun of George Bush during his presidency, non of which were "banned."
- nytel, on 07/11/2009, -3/+6It's a whale. Just send it into space!
- inactive, on 07/11/2009, -1/+4woohoo, generalizations!
- inactive, on 07/11/2009, -4/+7That had nothing to do with us being insulted, that had to do with bat-***** crazy extremists that like to blow people up who mock their prophets. Also, he was in the Super Best Friends episode.
- Grolsch, on 07/11/2009, -1/+4I think South Park can mock anything and make anyone insecure
- TobiasParker, on 07/11/2009, -2/+5I am not making fun of muslims. I am saying that what is the difference between their government censoring South Park or Comedy Central censoring south park?
- seanhive, on 07/11/2009, -0/+3Best way to show your weakness to the little guy: censor.
- Memnochxx, on 07/11/2009, -1/+4South Park is on cable, retard.
- dekuscrub, on 07/11/2009, -0/+3At least they know how to protest:
http://lenta.ru/photo/2008/09/13/kenny/10_Jpg.htm - Mujokan, on 07/11/2009, -0/+3Boy, they are asking for it. I hate to think what is coming Putin's way next from M&T. Actually, scratch that, I'm looking forward to it.
- holi1, on 07/11/2009, -0/+2Yeah, I am actually Russian, and I was surprised to find out that tv channel cut putin off that episode. It's really weird they did it, not sure if even they themselves know why they did it.
- GeyserShitdick, on 07/11/2009, -0/+2But I thought they were freer because they're allowed to keep giant ***** cats in their apartments...
http://digg.com/pets_animals/Mama_can_we_have_a_pe ... - Fhwqhgads, on 07/11/2009, -0/+2Now even more people will see it. Good job taking a ***** in your own oatmeal guys.
- DerangedPenguin, on 07/12/2009, -0/+2It is only a matter of time before Barry Hussein Obama is granted the same official "corrective powers" in the U.S. Media. For now it just suffices for his minions to scream racism.
- theBean42, on 07/11/2009, -0/+2Stay classy Russia!
- Virgule, on 07/11/2009, -0/+2Censoring suck because [censored].
See? - inactive, on 07/11/2009, -0/+2If you dont know that Dmitry Medvedev is Putins puppet then your a ***** idiot.
- opticwind, on 07/11/2009, -0/+2How is this from the government?
- Tanktunker, on 07/11/2009, -0/+2Yeah, it's much worse than having a nuclear missile base a few hundred miles off american shores.
What he's saying is that people were needlessly hysterical about Communists then like people are about Terrorists now. - rroesel, on 07/12/2009, -0/+2Putin is the prime minister not the president!
- DopeWeasel, on 07/11/2009, -0/+2It's spelled patronymic not patryonimc.
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=patronymi ... - meimeimei, on 07/11/2009, -0/+1I always thought the beep was part of the gag.
- vedema, on 07/11/2009, -0/+1The FCC has no dominion over cable programming.
- bdbr, on 07/11/2009, -0/+1Watch some British TV shows some time. They make American shows look like they were meant for sixth-graders. We try to make child-safe versions of their shows, and it just comes off as lame.
- m4csrgh3yk3v, on 07/14/2009, -0/+1you're.
- inactive, on 07/11/2009, -0/+1uh, no. he wasn't allowed to enter the COUNTRY, not the CLUB.
- antdude, on 07/12/2009, -0/+1"I'm not fat. I'm big boned!"
- eight190, on 07/11/2009, -1/+2I am not a South Park fan, but the real problem is that censorship does not help or solve anything.
- PatrickX, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1[citation needed]
- carlosos, on 07/11/2009, -1/+2"USA may not censor south park (too intensively)"
You *beep* should *beep*.
In some other countries you don't have the *beep* in South Park or TV overall. All types of censorship from the government sucks. Censoring a story is just worse than censoring some word. - eight190, on 07/11/2009, -1/+2I am not a South Park fan, but censorship does not help or solve anything.
- carlosos, on 07/11/2009, -0/+1The FCC should only be doing one thing and that is assigning frequencies to people/companies in certain areas and making sure that there is no interference. They are doing an OK job with that (meaning that they could do much better but also much worse).
Censorship should not be part of the FCCs responsibility or anyone's at all. - Memnochxx, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1Yeah, and on Comedy Central it is not censored by the FCC. But it's still censored. Why is that? It's because each network decides for itself what to censor or not. It has nothing to do with the government.
- Tanktunker, on 07/11/2009, -0/+1He didn't say the only thing South Park can mock and make insecure is Russians, rather that the only show that can accomplish that is South Park.
Honestly I doubt that what you said and what he said is true, I don't think everyone mocked on South Park takes it personally and I doubt this is the first time Russia has censored American television. -
