Libertarians not liberals.
I dugg you down. - dmh11686, on 10/12/2007, -16/+26RedEye w/ Greg Gutfeld is great, everyone should watch.
But it is strange to see a good review of a show on Fox News from the New York Times preceded by a glowing review from Salon.com.
http://www.slate.com/id/2163592/ - Bemis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Very fun show to watch and if you watch it on Monday nights you get to see Samantha Judge
- imightbewrong, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14i'd put it in my top 20 shows from 2-3 am
- montiff, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13Libertarianism is basically: getting the pot people to like guns and the gun people to like pot.
- bonjovisucks, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12Half Hour News Hour was terrible (this coming from an avid Fox News viewer).
Red Eye is actually a decent show. I usually watch it every night before falling asleep. It's not the best show ever, nor is it extremely funny, but I don't think that's really what they are going for. - minox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9This show is actually pretty good, especially for the 2 am slot. Usually the jokes are so bizarre that they appeal to my drowsy 2 am state of consciousness.

especially strange because the review you linked to is on Slate, not Salon... - miggaaaplease, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12There's a reason that its on at 2 am...
- 0zzy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11As an insomniac I tend to find random shows on television such as this one. The show is way low-budget, basically a camera, a breakfast table, and some guys talking randomly about some random topic. Never took the time to watch it all but I've took a peek or two.

Who ever said Libertarianism is Liberal?? - jkwong1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8At first, Red Eye was one of those shows that's "so bad, it's good", and maybe it still is. It's definitely made for the insomniacs out there and the eye candy (Rachel Marsden, Julia Allison, Samantha Judge, etc.) doesn't hurt. BTW, there's only one way to watch Red Eye, with the lights out and in your most comfortable pajamas.
- harperg, on 10/12/2007, -8/+13I heard about it.
I watched it.
I think it sucks.
At 2AM though it really doesnt matter if your show sucks or not your competing against cleaning products and money loving preachers. - rasterbator, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Note that the time in the description is EST, so people on the west coast can enjoy at 11:00 PST.
I went to high school with Greg, and it has been interesting to see his rise in the media over the years. He always was a great writer and very creative. Big Gang of Four listener back then. He was always seen wearing his punk leather jacket. hehe - Mactard, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6When it first started I hated it and thought it was a blatant rip off of Stewart, etc.
In the short time it has been on the air it has gotten better. I no longer view it as a Viacom copy. The little skinny freaky guy does say weird funny stuff and they usually have a babe or two as guests. The Canadian bitch has got to go. The only thing she has going for herself is that she is Canadian. Greg's mom is hilarious as well, much funnier then Letterman's mom or Kimmel's dad. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8It's not bad.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8They were clearly joking buddy.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Here is a clip of the show, for those of you who wish to review it but have not yet seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zawl5qtQAD8
- UtopianComplex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I watched it on st. Patrick's day... the running joke was a midget dressed as a leprechaun saying sexual things....
it got worse from there. - kahlessreborn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I saw the show once, but i was half asleep and not that sober so I was like??????
But i might check it out again. - n0ia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+40zzy, I'm with you, I never have taken the time to watch it, but maybe I oughta since I'm up at that time anyway.
I'll have to miss some of the first half though cause Good Eats is on at 2, and I never miss Good Eats. - Cornedbeef, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wins award for best news show watched by insomniacs.
- erieboatergal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think the show is hilarious! My favorite part of the show is when Greg calls his Mom to get her opinion on the stories.
- KingMoses, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3So, people who believe in both personal freedoms and fiscal responsibility? What a crime.
- nosebleed, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6I don't know much about this show, but I always check it out whenever anti-comedian Neil Hamburger comes on.
- etnlIcarus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The show is basically Tough Crowd with Colin Quin, minus the humour. The host, Greg, never fails to talk over the top of the rest of the panel (not unlike Colin Quin, just worse), infusing the show with his bland commentary and the subject matters seem to descend to celluloid gossiping within minutes.
- ajb2015, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4You're probably being dugg down by people who haven't even seen the show. All they know is libertarian = good. Don't be fooled people, this show is a joke.
- DJCult, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Eh.....I would still prefer MST3K
- Sparkster185, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Thank you DVR.
- FishyJoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The best part of the show is when Rachel tries to be funny or witty. After a bit of silence, you can just see them all thinking, 'Did she really just say that?'
- DJCult, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1W....What?
- Red_Eye, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1asshats took the name I have been using for 25 years...
- NoStoppingUs, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3this show is ***** hysterical
- c0mputar, on 03/22/2009, -0/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tuna2w2pgnM
Here's the show for you. - WhoIsScott, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've watched this several times, Its alright. I think it has a more upbeat, youthful approch to the "stuffy, conservitive" nature fox is known for having.
- heynow21, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1You can tell these people have some comedic instincts, but they're too stifled by the ideological line they have to toe. Conservatism just isn't funny.
- dmh11686, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Sorry, I put the wrong site I guess I remember reading the hit piece on Rachel from Salon.
Billy West from Futurama and Ren and Stimpy was on the other day.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zawl5qtQAD8 - BocoDragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ouch... this show was terrible.
I like libertarians. I like conservatives. I like liberals. But *****? No thanks. - kkravey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i started watching out of a mixture of curiosity + mild boredom, and now continue to watch solely out of love for andrew levey.
- jresh, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I agree. I've tried to watch this show several times, and I can't believe how bad it is. It seems to get worse. Gutfeld is making a total fool of himself. It's embarrassing. I new people like these in college. I know how to have fun, but I also grew up somewhere along the way.
- spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5I disagree. I'd love to believe she was, but given her views on most of the things they talk about I really don't think that's true.
- marcmola, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I LOVE this show. I never felt like I'd like to be sitting behind the desk at a news show until I started watching Red Eye. It's just a lot of fun.
- IntelligenceQ, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5The glowing review was Slate, not Salon. However, Salon wrote an interesting article on the background of Rachel Marsden, the female host of the show. According to Salon... "the 31-year-old columnist is already well known in her native Canada as an oft-accused and once-admitted stalker who made questionable rape charges of her own 10 years ago, in a case that eventually cut short the career of a university president and changed the tenor of harassment cases all over Canada. In 1999, a professor at the same university went to the police with charges Marsden was stalking him, and in 2004 she pleaded guilty to criminally harassing a former Vancouver radio host."
"Fox's Ann Coulter 2.0"
http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2007/03/29/marsden/ - spookyttww, on 10/12/2007, -10/+10I live in Huntington Beach, CA (because it really matters where you live) and you need to step off your high horse.
- HigherLogic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I actually think the show is pretty funny. It comes on a little earlier here though in Arizona, and it's certainly not your typical FOX News show. They just talk about whatever the hell they want really. The girl on there annoys me though, but she's semi-attractive so its'ok.
- SOULEVENT, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1@SoulEvent
your an *****, apologize...
Im sorry, I dont know those people, I made a premature judgement based on the fact that Fox News is a piece of *****. - JCSaint, on 10/12/2007, -13/+12The "conservative daily show" was the horrible "Half News Hour." God that sucked.
- jresh, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Now, THAT'S funny! and true.
- lagrange, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4Libertarians = Republicans who like to smoke pot.
- spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -8/+7One of the people on that show, concerning gitmo detainees: 'Wouldn't it be cheaper if we were just kill them?'...'no I'm serious, not now but hen no one is watching'
In response to this everyone is laughing.
This is what America considers libertarian politics? Christ. -
