Oprah To Give Up Daytime Show: Move to Cable Network

deadline.com — Oprah is expected to end her syndicated Chicago-based daytime talk show when her current deal runs out and will move it to the Oprah Winfrey Network, which is expected to start in 2011.

    Me, I'm expecting she's still fielding offers from the networks for her talk show. And I'm expecting after using her leverage to negotiate with them, she'll at some point announce a deal with a network that will make her current salary look small. And she'll say something to the effect of how a lot of her fans wouldn't be able to watch her on cable, and how she couldn't abandon them, and that's why she kept her main show on an over the air network. And they'll believe her, and love her even more for it, all while flocking to see the "Oprah" approved content on her network.

    And somehow I can't help feeling that's all pretty cool. I love capitalism.
