- chadu, on 11/18/2008, -11/+156I watched it... i kept thinking to myself... wow, it's great to finally not have a president that sounds like a stroke victim.
very impressive man. - SohailKhanifar, on 11/18/2008, -12/+123John McCain probably took 2 hours to watch 60 minutes.
- Jones82, on 11/18/2008, -5/+56Shouldn't we see how Obama '08 works out first?
- sahaskatta, on 11/18/2008, -1/+50you can watch all of it on http://www.60minutes.com
hope that helps! - mal1964, on 11/18/2008, -3/+47"People will generally accept facts as truth only if the facts agree with what they already believe"
Andy Rooney - WSPanic201, on 11/18/2008, -6/+47Obama gives 'America' its best ratings in 9 years.
- TunaFishGangsta, on 11/17/2008, -5/+39Move over Hillbillary Clinton, Michelle Obama 2016!
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -22/+55i watched that interview. All politics aside, did anyone else come out of that thinking -damn, his wife Michelle wears the pants?
- leerayIG88, on 11/17/2008, -10/+41*****...i missed it on tv. :-[
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 11/18/2008, -1/+32No, but I did think, "Damn his wife rocks." 8)
- shugdoo, on 11/18/2008, -6/+32Introduction: I've never had an elephant or a donkey tattooed to my thigh. I've always been one of those weirdos who makes up their minds issue by issue. I am currently a laid-off tech worker (our whole department was let go this summer to create jobs in Ireland).
The last eight years has been an incredibly bad dream to me (and most of my contemporaries), a political Ishtar/Heavens Gate enhanced by a seemingly endless golden shower of flag-waving pride-laden ignorance, deficit-ballooning war contracting and shameless race-baiting fear-mongering, with an over-promoted fortunate son cartoon character/corporate hood ornament as it's main cheerleader. Listening to last night's 60 Minutes was nothing short of a complete affirmation that perhaps the rudder of this country can at least begin turning the slightest bit towards something remotely positive versus being welded in place by the ersatz McCain and Friends show.
The Obamas not only showed their overachieving intellect, but also feet of clay that possess a flaw here and there. I enjoyed the hole in the floorboard bit. I also admired his views on modeling his administration upon successful tactics from different political spectrums.
I'm fairly certain that a good deal of his programs are going to be unpopular to anyone looking for easy-answer/quick fixes, but I reckon those sort of expectations play a part in our current economic dilemma. - GeeksSpeakFont, on 11/17/2008, -10/+33He and Michelle did a great job of being likeable everyday people when confronted with questions that might have led them to "elitist" answers...
- regeya, on 11/18/2008, -6/+26For the record, I gave you a thumbs down, but only because I'm already sick of people a.) playing the victim and b.) pretending that people voted for Obama merely because he's a well-spoken black man. If all America cared about was a well-spoken black man, y'all would have gone for Powell instead of McCain. Come to think of it, that would have been a fantastic idea; the man doesn't flinch, and he seems to be frightfully intelligent, or another way of putting it is that he seems to be Presidential material. If it had been Powell vs. Obama, no question, I would have voted for Powell. Hell, if McCain had just concentrated on being McCain instead of being what the party wanted him to be, I would have voted for McCain.
If I want to blame "the media" for anything, it's for convincing stupid ***** that we all voted for Obama because he's a likable black man. - NCecil, on 11/18/2008, -2/+21That's from February of this year, before the election...
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -4/+22No, not really. And I don't think there's anything cute or good about that.
Equality goes both ways. - WeAreAllScrewed, on 11/18/2008, -3/+19where can i get some of what you're smoking?
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -12/+28They talked about such important issues as college football and sandwich making. I hope nobody missed it.

- novenator, on 11/18/2008, -9/+21I can see the neo conservative networks have struck the comments here fast. They are sore losers, whose only real pleasure left is to lash out and further let our country be ruined by the failed policies of their puppet masters
- treehugger87, on 11/18/2008, -1/+13It's going to be good to have adults in charge again.
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 11/18/2008, -2/+12You mean they're not elitist, terrorist, communists out to take all our guns and bibles?! Who'd a thunk it?
/sarcasm - DismantleRepair, on 11/18/2008, -0/+9That quote pretty much explains Digg's comment system...
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 11/18/2008, -3/+12Yes, they did show the human side as well.
- thephosphorbox, on 11/18/2008, -1/+10LOL the irony.. when Obama talks about the issues, they say he's just spewing empty rhetoric.. then they complain when he talks about "regular people" stuff. *shrug*
- groo68, on 11/18/2008, -1/+10Palin would not have been first lady.
- Mujokan, on 11/18/2008, -3/+12If you don't smoke, I'd recommend you don't start.
- stafa786, on 11/18/2008, -6/+15So Presidential yet so normal.
- cochonnerie, on 11/18/2008, -3/+11The interview itself was mostly fluff, with little substance... but it was interesting as a window into his character and his relationship with Michelle. They appeared more genuine than most. It'll be interesting to see how he'll do over the course of his term.
- halfabean, on 11/18/2008, -0/+8"mida's touch"?
rofl - maybemable, on 11/18/2008, -0/+7the comment was sexist to start with. it looks to me like they have an amazing friendship and the banter shows that. just because he married someone with an opinion does not make him whipped.
- JRW5061, on 11/18/2008, -1/+8no we don't
- kr3mliyn, on 11/18/2008, -1/+8Yeah, they actually seem to get along with each other, much like any of the couples I've admired IRL.
- reugeneg, on 11/18/2008, -3/+9Liberals are simpletons? Then why did the republicans pick a the biggest simpleton as the VP candidate?
- snagglefoof, on 11/18/2008, -5/+10I started to watch it but once I realized the second commercial would also be A MINUTE DAMN LONG I stopped.
For chrissake... - inactive, on 11/18/2008, -1/+6http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIRaFfMGNSc
Nope - LilRabbitFooFoo, on 11/18/2008, -1/+6It's one hell of a ***** job we've given him.
- skyshock1, on 11/18/2008, -1/+6I absolutely LOVE it when broadcasters put up their entire programs like this online now. It makes people's lives so much easier.
- dithyrambica, on 11/18/2008, -5/+9It depends on many, many things. The economy is just one issue.
You will end up hating him if you have unrealistic expectations. He is one man.
He can't do it without you, or me.
Being Pro-Active while we are being Opinionated. - gr00, on 11/18/2008, -6/+10As much as I am an Obama fan, I wonder if even he will be capable of maintaining his positive outlook on things a year into the job. Seriously, the pressures ahead are daunting... I wish him luck.
Also - anyone else think Michelle is dreaming about Barack being readily available to his family (on a daily basis/routine) once he assumes the presidency? It's no 9-5 gig! - GreenWolf21, on 11/18/2008, -1/+5um... there's an embedded video on the article's page.
- StrawberryFrog, on 11/18/2008, -0/+4Perhaps he was he was briefed on the questions ahead of time, but after that long hard campaign, he probably
1) Has a good idea what's coming based on previous experience
2) has been asked something like it before. - StrawberryFrog, on 11/18/2008, -0/+4Right. The mistake that Americans have been making in previous elections was electing the person who seemed most like them, rather than the one who seemed like he'd do a better job for them.
- uncoolcentral, on 11/18/2008, -6/+10There were some really funny, charming moments b/w the Obamas. Made them seem even more "real"
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -3/+7Buried for sexism.
- barfooz, on 11/18/2008, -4/+8So switch to a different tab and look at something else. GD you people are lazy.
- nosecohn, on 11/18/2008, -0/+3Andy Rooney is older than he looks (which is amazing 'cause he looks pretty old). He's 89, but his eyebrows are 120. :-)
- artieart, on 11/18/2008, -3/+6Dugg for the window at the bottom of the article that plays the segment unedited without a redirect. Nice. Missed it, then watched it full screen like i never missed it. Cool.
- natpatben, on 11/18/2008, -2/+541, not 48
- Dystisis, on 11/18/2008, -0/+3Then no one will accept that quote and so it is meaningless. Good job.
