- quomen, on 04/14/2009, -0/+31Or they could bring it back.
- Darksoul, on 04/14/2009, -1/+28I am not really surprised about what Fox does anymore any Firefly fan or fan of any other Fox show they have canceled knows that when you watch a show on their network prepare for it to be canceled. Fox is a joke they cancel all the good ***** while the other ***** that sucks manages to stay on go figure. All I know is once TSCC is canceled then Dollhouse I will have no reason to watch Fox.
They did the same ***** to Firefly showing ***** out of order they where told how to show the episodes by Joss himself which he wrote and directed but they wanted to do what they wanted to do. I don't know why he still trusts Fox anymore. - Chaoticfist, on 04/14/2009, -0/+26I really like this show, once you get past episode 6 it is a great show i have found. I just hope they dont cancel it.
Why do they ***** up great shows like Jericho and Firefly.... - samard2002, on 04/14/2009, -1/+24They should just start canceling Joss Whedon shows as soon as he signs the contract -- like before he walks out of the office. "Here's your check, we look forward to working with you. You're fired, get out."
We sure would save a lot of bandwidth on the internet. - LucasHenderson, on 04/14/2009, -0/+18Post-apocalyptic? Lemme guess. The Dollhouse Technology results in a world war in that only the US and China survive, and we leave earth in search of a new home.
I totally called it. - LucasHenderson, on 04/14/2009, -1/+12Whedon fans have been conitioned to beg in advance.
- SeanRoss, on 04/14/2009, -1/+11I'll be hella pissed if they cancel Terminator or Fringe...
- LucasHenderson, on 04/14/2009, -1/+10Please do not torrent. Use Hulu. Fox pays attention to that, since there is some revenue from it.
- flamyngo, on 04/14/2009, -0/+9I wonder if it wasn't all a ploy just to get the show more press. I mean look at us now... we're begging for the finale and a second season here on Digg.
Don't get me wrong... I want a second season, but this could have been just brilliant marketing. - smacksaw, on 04/14/2009, -0/+9FOX doesn't operate on money, but on the tears of disappointment from the fans of his shows.
- centran, on 04/14/2009, -1/+9Don't worry. Dollhouse will have at least another half-season.
Dollhouse was purposely written so it took people awhile to get hooked on it. Since people didn't get hooked on it right away it will be renewed because it will appear to be a crappy show. Fox loves renewing crappy shows and canceling instant hits.
Joss knew what he was doing. He didn't want to make an instant hit so he would get a second season... however, I would worry about anything after that. - PrismoFillusion, on 04/14/2009, -1/+7That would be ***** awesome.
- Toshibi, on 04/14/2009, -1/+7I really thought Whedon said he would never work with Fox again after Firefly. Argh, how I so desperately want more Firefly...and I was just getting into Dollhouse. ***** Fox! ***** them up their stupid asses!
- blackanode, on 04/14/2009, -0/+5As long as I get a second season I will be happy. Just have to make sure that fox doesn't mess up these awesome shows.
- Yage2006, on 04/14/2009, -0/+5No danger for fringe but say goodbye to terminator :(
- iDoraemon, on 04/14/2009, -1/+6If you love a certain Fox show, it will be cancelled.
Firefly? Check.
TSCC? Possible.
Dollhouse? Possible.
24? Che...buh?
Okay, Fox. You win this round. - Ouze, on 04/14/2009, -0/+5Once upon a time, a woman was picking up firewood. She came upon a poisonous snake frozen in the snow. She took the snake home and nursed it back to health. One day the snake bit her on the cheek. As she lay dying, she asked the snake, 'Why have you done this to me?' And the snake answered, 'Look, bitch, you knew I was a snake'." - Natural Born Killers
No one put a gun to Joss Whedon's head. I blame Joss, not Fox. Fox is only being Fox. - blackanode, on 04/14/2009, -0/+5That sound awesome. I really hope fox does not cancel Dollhouse or TSCC they both got really good in the last of the season.
- Ouze, on 04/14/2009, -0/+4i lol'd
- lewkus, on 04/14/2009, -0/+3I live in Australia, the chances of this show airing on either cable or free-to-air television is mega-slim. If this doesn't make it to DVD, Fox hasn't got a shot at making $$$ off me watching this great show.
Their loss or mine?
(Theirs, because I watch TV using the internets)
Fox, learn how to use the internets to make money and stop canceling good shows! - smacksaw, on 04/14/2009, -0/+3He gets a lot of sympathy because his FOX keeps dismantling the institutions he creates.
- lelebelle, on 04/14/2009, -0/+3Chuck, Terminator, Dollhouse...Some of the best TV in a long while, and they'll probably all get canceled and replaced with mindless reality shows about lesbians eating scorpions.
- inactive, on 04/14/2009, -3/+6"Once you get past Ep 6"??? Who has that patience these days? If showrunners don't want their shows cancelled, write good shows from Ep 1.
- Toupee, on 04/14/2009, -0/+3I was just about to say the same thing. They really have a knack for cancelling shows or ***** up their runs in some way that leads to huge cult followings.
The sucky part is that most of the time the shows they cancel are pretty awesome... (Never saw Dollhouse though!) - or3n, on 04/14/2009, -1/+4"Sit Down, Shut Up" is premiering on Sunday .. a new animated series created by Mitch Hurtwitz -- the creator of Arrested Development -- and featuring voice acting by Jason Bateman and Will Arnett (who also acted in Arrested Development) as well as Kenan Thompson, Will Forte, and others. I have seen next to no promotion for this show online and if I wasn't an AD fan I probably would never have found out about it. :< Makes you wonder if maybe Fox WANTS it to have low ratings :(
- Yage2006, on 04/14/2009, -3/+5That would actually be an improvement.
- spookyttws, on 04/14/2009, -0/+2Great concept, but I really expected more information based on the title and description. Also, I know that television is as simple as swapping one episode for another, but if Fox ordered 13 and they shot 14, why not drop one of the less interesting non-arc oriented episodes that have yet to air, and simply run this (apparently super amazing) episode. (that no one has any information on, so it could be nothing special at all)
- PHermas, on 04/14/2009, -3/+5If Eliza Dushku weren't so freaking hot I would have stopped torrenting, ehh i mean watching this crap after the second episode.
- LucasHenderson, on 04/14/2009, -4/+6"+0 / -1"
Screw you, whoever dugg me down. If you want a show to get renewed, the best thing you can do is watch it in ways that provide revenue for the company behind it (Fox) - Jareth86, on 04/14/2009, -0/+2Battered writer syndrome :(
- plinstrot, on 04/14/2009, -0/+2Apparently it's set 30 years in the future and doesn't feature any of the regular cast.
- DarkoKun, on 04/14/2009, -0/+2After reading that spoiler im going to watch this show now.
- varchar255, on 04/14/2009, -0/+2You can also watch on Fox's site: http://www.fox.com/fod/play.php?sh=dollhouse
Not sure if that's available worldwide though. - LucasHenderson, on 04/14/2009, -0/+2You do have a point. However, PHermas above, apparently lives in the US, judging by his profile.
- flaminglips, on 04/14/2009, -0/+2Season 3 was amazing.
They already knew they were going to get cancelled so they just started making fun of whatever they wanted. Mr. F is one of my favorite episodes!
As for having previous knowledge of the show, that's the case with every episode, seasons 1-3.... - quomen, on 04/14/2009, -0/+2To say that you're any more of a fan than another person is just being a pretentious prick.
Are you going to tell him to not eat red meat now? - smacksaw, on 04/14/2009, -1/+2I'm sure you got Dugg down because you missed the simple point that while torrents are available worldwide, Hulu is not.
Perhaps if Hulu was available everywhere, you'd have a point. But this is the age of instant information. Either watch the episode worldwide as it comes out or get spoilers (that you probably don't want) and never need to watch it.
Which REALLY hurts FOX. - Darksoul, on 04/22/2009, -0/+1"No one put a gun to Joss Whedon's head. I blame Joss, not Fox. Fox is only being Fox."
I agree with that to a point but you can't argue that, with the way Fox handled Firefly after he told them how to air the episodes was all their fault. Fox's problem is they don't want to put any weight behind their shows every show they create or put on their network that is not "American Idol" they don't take seriously enough. These shows will never get the numbers that reality tv will and its their stupidity for thinking that they will.
Oh and props to you for using a Natural Born Killers quote. :) - quomen, on 04/14/2009, -5/+6Bring bad Arrested Development.
- LuckyASN, on 04/14/2009, -1/+2BLASHPHEMY!!!
- Gareth321, on 04/14/2009, -1/+2I'm not sure I understand your logic at all...
Dollhouse will be canned, and it will stay that way. It's viewerbase is less than 5 million. You can argue a crappy time slot, but that's the way Fox played it. The same goes for T:SCC.
Both are incredible. Joss knows how to create a show. It's such a shame that they aren't getting the viewers they should. Perhaps we need to start considering these shows don't appeal to a wide enough demographic? - Darksoul, on 04/22/2009, -0/+1Your wrong though I agree his acting in Bones is not that great but that's only really due to its not really his type of acting. I mean look at Angel he was perfect he is better in a much darker movie or tv show.
- Shazbuckle, on 04/14/2009, -2/+3Jericho's season 1 was the worst season finale I have ever seen in my life.
And then they started season 2 and it was utter ***** - Angmar, on 04/14/2009, -0/+1From i09 comments:
I think there's some confusion about this. 20th Century Fox is a production company. Fox is a TV network. The two are related but work independently from each other. The TV network ordered 13 episodes and agreed to scrap one -- the scrapped one no longer fits in the story but the production company had already pre-sold the show worldwide as being 13 episodes long, so they bought an additional episode.
The production company releases the DVDs, so the extra episode will be on the boxset. The TV network built their future schedules around there being only 12 episodes and they don't have space for a 13th right now. From the sounds of it, the ep is going to be a bit "Buffy: Restless" so it won't work if they air it by itself, weeks after the first season has finished -- if it's picked up, expect them to air it at some point in the second season. - smacksaw, on 04/14/2009, -1/+2As long as there's no David Boreanaz in it. That guy tries so little as an actor to actually make Keanu Reeves look like a student of the craft.
- Philbert, on 04/14/2009, -0/+1Wonderfalls too. 14 great episodes made, cancelled after airing 4, almost each in a different time slot.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8_bmzRhfag - NeoCortex, on 04/14/2009, -0/+1Arrested Development, Futurama, ...
- Threlly1, on 04/14/2009, -1/+1Does Gerry Anderson turn up and shoot the writer and cast for stealing his concept ?
- chadwalters23, on 04/14/2009, -2/+2I really was excited about Dollhouse, but after the first four of the "seven pilots" I really just couldn't find anything to really like about it. Dushku's acting is terrible and it is just not all that compelling. I thought My Own Worst Enemy was a far better implemented version of a very similar concept. Then again, I liked La Femme Nikita a lot more than Alias. I am really disappointed by the cancellation of The Sarah Conner Chronicles. That has become my very favorite show on television right now.
