Most of these people obviously have some sort of mental problem, try to put them in rehabilitation and FIX the problem, not just send them to jail so they can get back into their pedophilia games when released. Jail rarely fixes people and most definitely rarely fixes people with known mental problems, those people belong in a facility with a qualified mental health staff.

I have seen digg go crazy in mob justice after reading some article and then a few days later the real story comes out and some innocent person or company has been mobbed by the internet with death threats in their email etc. I doubt the people who sent the death threats etc apologized after getting the real story.
Many diggers, maybe even most, are way too reactionary and don't get the entire story before acting. They believe anything that fits what they think and then go crazy.
I am reminded of the kid who said he was suspended from school for using firefox and had some scan of a note. Everyone started posted personal details of the teacher and principal and sending death threats in emails. The problem with the show is that it's a show, and they have asinine moments to increase the watchability of the show like a guy calmly walking out of the bust house gets tackled by police. Seriously? Is that really necessary? Catchphrases? Ratings! I know of people who use the show as a drinking game. To me this is one issue that doesn't need to bre turned into entertainment.
I don't know why they have to exploit such a serious problem for ratings. I think it's pretty twisted. Pedophilia has become a massive issue in our society, and I don't mean there's too many free-roaming pedophiles out there. There is no other issue in our national consciousness that inspires as much irrational hatred, and allows absolutely zero room for discussion or debate. By no means am I someone who condones it, nor do I feel it should be allowed, but I think EVERY issue has shades of gray that have to be recognized and discussed.

When is the last time you actually saw someone on the show having sex with a minor? None of these people could even be convicted of rape/molestation/whatever, because they never actually do/attempt it. - Suricou, on 06/26/2008, -0/+11In the US it varies by state from 16 to eighteen. Through most of europe it's around 16, usually with a close-in-age exception. However, from a political point, it is *extremally* difficult to lower the age of consent. Just imagine what would happen if a US senator proposed reducing it to universally 16... they would be immediatly accused of encouraging children to have sex.
I note that people below eighteen are not usually concerned with the law when they are at it with each other. -
