But i could REALLY go for some Fraggle Rock - Dumbledorito, on 08/28/2008, -3/+109Yes, yes, it's nice that you got Henson's kid to do Jim's voicework... except I've heard 10-year-olds do better "Kermit" than HE does. And it's not like the original Muppet Show was strictly for kids! It was experimental comedy, not safe Disney-channel drivel. If those in charge can't tell the difference, just leave it alone.
- seraphisset, on 08/28/2008, -0/+96Should be "Return to TV after 10 years" since "Muppets Tonight" run was from 1996-1998.
... or are we all still pretending that show didn't happen? Oops! - sdellboy, on 08/28/2008, -0/+88STATLER: Boo!

S: It was great!
W: It was wonderful!

- plhearn, on 08/28/2008, -2/+46"first new Muppet Show TV series for 27 years."
What about Muppet Babies and Muppet's Tonight? I remember watching those shows as a kid and I'm not even 27 yet. - inactive, on 08/28/2008, -3/+44Fraggles always pissed me off. They had no respect for society, spent all day lounging around and leeching off of the Doozers' hard work, then went on to wreak havoc in the Gorgs' garden while having hallucinations of talking trash heaps. "Dream sharing", yeah right more like needle sharing. Freeloaders. No wonder this country is so full of lazy, whiny, drug abusing slackers.

GET OFF MY LAWN! - SteveLRowe, on 08/28/2008, -0/+40!) don't let Jim Henson's kid do the Kermit voice
2) Make damn sure that Doctor Teeth and the Electric Mayhem are the house band ( if Dot hasn't died of Syph yet ) - mayra1201, on 08/28/2008, -0/+37sounds like a typical conversation here on digg

- fraggle35, on 08/28/2008, -0/+25Has it really been 27 years?
I'm getting ***** old, I still remember Keith Moon having a drum battle with Animal as if it was yesterday. - TrellSaracen, on 08/28/2008, -2/+27Same here, that show was awesome, too.
I just wish they'd re-broadcast all the originals that WERE classics, rather than "modernise" (read: brutalise) them with brand new versions that you just KNOW would make the creators of the originals say "man, there are some things you just DO NOT smoke!" - inactive, on 08/28/2008, -0/+25Bork Bork!
- idleminded, on 08/28/2008, -0/+25Yeah, they called it "Muppets Tonight": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muppets_Tonight

- rugabug, on 08/28/2008, -0/+21Don't forget the Muppet Babies.
- randomizer9, on 08/28/2008, -0/+18Yeah, and they blew it by NOT having Kermit be the host of the show. Muppet show - Kermit hosting = FAIL.

- richbleak, on 08/28/2008, -0/+15I will continue to dance my cares away. I'll save my worries for another day. Let the music play, Down at Fraggle Rock. If you choose to work your cares away and you believe dancing is for another day why can't you just let the rest of us play? Down at Fraggle Rock. Down at Fraggle Rock. By the way, I'm going to eat the ***** out of anything you create. Get back to work.
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -0/+15I love the Muppets. I love anything by Jim Henson. I love puppets. I was the puppeteer for my school's rendition of Little Shop of Horrors and it drove me to want to become a puppeteer. Next year, I'm going to be applying to University of Connecticut for their puppetry program. This summer, I was supposed to have a meeting with Bob Fappiano, who was a puppeteer for ALF, who was a friend of my fathers, but we had to cancel when my father got sick. I hope to god this show works out. I'm a freaking puppet freak.
- jaredcat, on 08/28/2008, -1/+16Liberal nonsense! The Fraggles and Doozers have a symbiotic relationship. From the Wikipedia article:
"This symbiosis was part of an episode where Mokey called upon the Fraggles not to eat the Doozers' constructions - because they spend so much time making them. Fraggle Rock was quickly filled with constructions and the Doozers had no space left to build. After running out of space the Doozers finally decided that it was time to move on to a new area because the Fraggles would not eat their construction, and there was even a tragic scene with a mother explaining to her daughter about how things don't always work out but that they would find a new place to live where their construction would get eaten. Overhearing this convinced Mokey that they didn't mind that the constructions were eaten, because this enabled the Doozers to build ad infinitum. As a result, Mokey frantically rescinded her prohibition and encouraged the Fraggles to ravenously eat the structures just in time to encourage the Doozers to stay."

That comparison doesn't work because "Muppets Tonight" was a continuation of the the original "The Muppet Show" with some of the same recurring cast and a move to a TV studio. TNG was a new show in the same continuity, but with a different cast and not a direct sequel. Same with "Muppet Babies", a new show, same cast, but different continuity. - frontaxle, on 08/28/2008, -1/+11Wacka wacka
- prth8machine, on 08/28/2008, -0/+10I thought I remembered a comeback run as well. I know they did new episodes, I just can't remember when.
- ArmandoM, on 08/28/2008, -2/+11It's not that hard to just not watch it if you don't want to.
- sleze, on 08/28/2008, -0/+9Does anyone remember Muppets Tonight? It ran for a couple of years in the late 90s.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muppets_Tonight - BXRWXR, on 08/28/2008, -0/+9Pro Tip to the producers: Just bring the show back. It was fine as is. No need to attempt to jazz it up with something you think will make it better.
- Felix2Fingerz, on 08/28/2008, -0/+8ANIMAL! ANIMAL! ANIMAL!
- mrallen86, on 08/28/2008, -3/+11Did "Muppets Tonight" not count enough for you? That was only like 10 years ago.
