I think season 5 has officially made Sawyer my favorite character. The amount of depth and growth he's undergone is just lightyears above everyone else. The camera zooms out to reveal he really was a janitor for Dharma all along and he's been tripping on LSD he found in Horace's stash. Then the camera zooms out again and shows that the island is in side a snow globe. Then the camera zooms out yet again and shows the snow globe is being held by a kid on an airplane - Vincent. Cut to black..... yeah, that's how it goes.

A man can hope right? - MrBogard, on 06/16/2009, -1/+13While Sawyer's character development is *amazing*, I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's light years beyond everyone else. Jack and John Locke have both shown tremendous depth. I really think that the writers and producers of this show have pushed Matthew Fox and Terry O'Quinn harder than any other actors on the show, and they both have responded brilliantly.

In the bible Esau is Jacob's twin brother and he has a warrior angel to protect him (AKA the Smoke Monster). I believe that the smoke monster is a part of Esau, and since we never see "fake Locke" and the SM in the same scene together you're probably right, but the SM may be more than just some arbitrary monster.
