- chrissku, on 08/26/2008, -8/+459Why do I have to go to Comedy Central to get the truth?
- HippyJM, on 08/25/2008, -3/+295I hope they let Colbert into the RNC
- diggit83, on 08/26/2008, -1/+285Said episode....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFQFB5YpDZE - samyoungguitar, on 08/25/2008, -4/+239WTF? No part two, no story! Call me when it's finished so that ***** quote can be put into some sort of context. Who the ***** posts half a story?
- redcatalina, on 08/26/2008, -0/+215That encounter pretty much single handedly took Crossfire off the air.
- reuscel, on 08/26/2008, -0/+199Seriously. Between TDS and South Park, Comedy Central is home to some of the best social commentary in America right now.
- jellygraph, on 08/26/2008, -9/+148Jon Stewart for president, I would trust him with my life.
- BrewBeau, on 08/26/2008, -1/+117After the White House correspondents dinner a few years ago, the RNC isn't going to let him anywhere near it!
- pintomp3, on 08/26/2008, -2/+108too bad it didn't keep tucker off.
- lowflyer00, on 08/26/2008, -1/+95I would trust him with your life too.

- Evolutuon, on 08/25/2008, -3/+94Damn the cliffhanger.
- Tyrghast, on 08/26/2008, -1/+90Oh dear god he totally turned that studio audience against the hosts. That was awesome.
- trafficlight, on 08/26/2008, -1/+88South Park is so much more relevant that anything the big news outlets offer.
- allankh, on 08/26/2008, -0/+86It's because you have to have a good sense of humor to know the truth these days; otherwise, suicide rates would go through the roof.
- inactive, on 08/26/2008, -5/+89THANK GOD FOR JOHN STEWART!!!!!!!!
How ironic that Americans have to watch a Comedy channel to get the news.
"a recent study by the University of Pennsylvania's National Annenberg Election Survey, which said young viewers of "The Daily Show" were more likely to answer questions about politics correctly than those who don't."
http://www.freepress.net/news/4765
”Viewers of Jon Stewart's show are more likely to have completed four years of college than people who watch "The O'Reilly Factor," according to Nielsen Media Research.”http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6117542/
Also, funny that after Jon Stewart appeared on Crossfire and outed them for not really being a debate show but just another right-wing extremist circus that is destroying American, CNN cancelled the show.
Thanks for that Jon.

It might have taken a little while to see through the corporate owned Nazi media cable fake news networks but 70% of America are true Patriots.
Only a complete scumbag still listens to opinions from a whacked out drug addict on the radio, or a dildo using pervert and his screeching she-male cohort on FOX.
Now, that is the height of stupidity! - Tyrghast, on 08/26/2008, -2/+66John Stewart: hilarious and humble, and not afraid to tell the liars and cretins what scum they are to their face.
- jj101, on 08/26/2008, -2/+59I never saw that before and you just made my day!
- inactive, on 08/26/2008, -0/+56He applied for the ticket (spending $3000) and the democrats there kept him off the ballot.
He didn't apply for the republicans because they required $30,000 and if he spent more than $5000 on his campaign, campaign funding laws started applying to him, and that whole Doritos sponsorship wouldn't have gone over very well. - Elranzer, on 08/26/2008, -12/+64Jon Stewart: "Why So Serious?"
- brentinkc, on 08/26/2008, -1/+52If you were in the same room, I would scream this at you at the top of my lungs.
HE WAS TALKING TO PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISTS. THEY ALL MAKE MONEY DOING IT. - VacantThoughts, on 08/26/2008, -0/+51"You're as big as dick on your show as on any show!"
I love you Jon - coyote1284, on 08/26/2008, -1/+51He said "a no brainer" not "the no brainer"
- inactive, on 08/26/2008, -1/+45The problem, I think, is that the show which was only supposed to be comedy has been forced to discuss real news seriously because the major news sources don't do that. Some of the interviews Stewart does, while including humor, actually have more serious and important questions than the major networks would ask. A perfect example was the Angelina Jolie interview from late last year, the interview she gave on another network was nothing more than just "I think you're great, what makes you so wonderful?". Stewart actually asked about some of the rumors going around, asked about her charity work and plenty of serious intelligent questions. Even if you took out all the humor from the show it would still be more credible than most mainstream news.
- chronobyte, on 08/25/2008, -1/+44Evidently Jon Stewart takes it more seriously than he does..
- inactive, on 08/26/2008, -2/+44Let's face it, Americans (and most other western countries too) want to be entertained. What's better though, asking serious and important questions laced with a handful of jokes? Or turning a 30 minute news segment into celebrity gossip, fearmongering and fluff pieces about kittens and politician's hairstyles?
- seldon452, on 08/26/2008, -1/+37On hearing the news of Crossfire's cancellation, on his own show Jon Stewart quipped "I fought the law, and the law lost!" [Wikipeida]
- richmomz, on 08/26/2008, -0/+33If I had to choose between John Stewart and George Bush, it would be a no brainer.
- Rotzooi, on 08/26/2008, -0/+33Colbert's guests for this week are:
August 26 Bob Barr
August 27 Mike Huckabee
August 28 Rick Brookhiser
August 29 John McWhorter - tidu, on 08/26/2008, -1/+31than they does?
- swrostmore, on 08/26/2008, -1/+31why in the christ is there no video for this yet
- johnnyboy239, on 08/26/2008, -0/+26well, considering their show got canceled it was close enough
- selmer, on 08/26/2008, -0/+26This is simply an incorrect statement, from someone with no idea what they are talking about.
- hobbes84k, on 08/26/2008, -2/+27As if we needed another reason to love Jon Stewart.
- Tebixan, on 08/26/2008, -0/+25Scary that it's true. Part if it is that satire can be far more brutally honest than a media outlet that is trying to appear unbiased. It shouldn't be that way, but the media is trying to be politically correct in a world that needs honesty over politeness.
- Equinox1, on 08/26/2008, -0/+25Jesus, that was amazing. If i could digg you up twice i would.
"How old are you?"
"35"
"And you're wearing a bow tie."

I'm pretty certain that's going to have some impact here. - inactive, on 08/26/2008, -1/+22Mirror?
- eatmybabies, on 08/26/2008, -0/+21ummm i could have sworn he is a comic who hosts a fake news show... a fake news show that takes shots at the right and the left. dont be mad that right comes off looking stupid more often then the left.
- Zalyster, on 08/26/2008, -0/+21This is the video, if anyone hasn't seen it.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-869183917 ... - Dalhectar, on 08/26/2008, -1/+22Why aren't real journalists taking the Democratic Convention seriously... BECAUSE ITS A MODERN POLITICAL CONVENTION.
What the hell happened last night, Obama's kids tell daddy they love him? Is that policy? Obama's wife tells us that she loves his husband. That's great, I bet every wife in the country would say the same thing, and most wives even would mean it.
Next week it's going to be the same ***** for the Republicans, McCain’s a great family man, war hero.. blah blah blah... All you are going to get is 2 weeks of political infomercials, and hopefully the real press out there knows it. There’s no debate, no real discussion on the pros or cons or any given issue. All that matters is that for one week everyone who likes Obama gives themselves a handjob for liking him, and next week the Republicans get to masturbate for their candidate.
There’s nothing to take serious. Political crap like this makes our crappy system of “debates “ with 90 sec. responses seem relevant in comparison. All the speeches have been vetted and every event is scripted. This is theater, nothing more. Bring me a beer and a hotdog. If I were a real news reporter, I wouldn’t even be there, unless I wanted to see a good show. But since the political structure of DC is practically on vacation now, the jornos might as well take some time off too. - borez, on 08/26/2008, -11/+30Digg effect

Sheesh. I WANT to digg this, but how can I? - Vikrane, on 08/26/2008, -1/+20The silly faces and jokes make Jon Stewart what he is.
- tehawesome531, on 08/26/2008, -0/+19"Error establishing a database connection"
- bagelmaster, on 08/26/2008, -0/+18Would have been better if Jon punched Tucker when he made that comment before the commercial.
