- DeathByDC10, on 04/01/2009, -0/+54This is just surreal, isn't it? Between Daily Show and South Park, Comedy Central has become the most relevant source of social criticism out there. Can't wait until the next Watergate gets cracked by The Food Network.
- Darkkshadow449, on 04/01/2009, -1/+48"You ever watch CNN for longer than, say, 20 hours in one day? I gotta cut that out. Watch CNN. It's the most depressing thing you'll ever see, man. "WAR, FAMINE, DEATH, AIDS, HOMELESS, RECESSION, DEPRESSION, WAR, FAMINE, DEATH, AIDS." Over and over again. Then you look out your window - (crickets chirping) - where's all this ***** going on, man?" - Bill Hicks
- inactive, on 04/01/2009, -1/+34THANK GOD FOR JON STEWART!!!!!!!!
How ironic that Americans have to watch a Comedy channel to get the news.
"a recent study by the University of Pennsylvania's National Annenberg Election Survey, which said young viewers of "The Colbert Report" were more likely to answer questions about politics correctly than those who don't."
http://www.freepress.net/news/4765
”Viewers of Jon Stewart's show are more likely to have completed four years of college than people who watch "The O'Reilly Factor," according to Nielsen Media Research.”http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6117542/
Also, funny that after Jon Stewart appeared on Crossfire and outed them for not really being a debate show but just another right-wing extremist circus that is destroying American, CNN cancelled the show.
Thanks for that Jon.

That, coming from the person who just resorted to that old, reliable fear tactic - calling someone a communist. - Pigeon, on 04/01/2009, -1/+24Congratulations. Instead of actually making a point, countering what Jon Stewart said or making any type of intelligent comment relating to the issue you used insults and 1337 number typing 0bama skills. You win a ***** award.
If he so wrong, why don't you actually, you know, tell us why? Or do you hate him because he reveals uncomfortable truths to you? - ThaDRD, on 04/02/2009, -0/+21"The toy your child is playing with right now could harm him. Find out what it is at 11."
It's ***** like this that has caused me to not watch the news. - inactive, on 04/01/2009, -0/+20Since when is commentary on the atrocious state of cable news part of a commie agenda?
- Dawsy380, on 04/01/2009, -1/+20What does his height have to do with anything?
- boom147, on 04/01/2009, -2/+20The blind leading the blind. Sadly, we love being controlled. As soon as the Entertainment wing bought the news wing, we were going down in a ball of fury. Marshmellow anyone?
- inactive, on 04/01/2009, -1/+15Aren't you supposed to be at Bible study?
- Broschati, on 04/01/2009, -1/+13Right. And Bill O'Riley, Wolf Blitzer and any other random hack in the media does...?
- celerity, on 04/01/2009, -0/+12You are going to have a really easy time converting all those 19 year olds to your ideology with your forthright commentary.
- Dawsy380, on 04/01/2009, -2/+13I just discovered some amazing information. It seems that some popular websites are stealing user's personal information and selling it to the highest bidder. You'll never guess which sites ar doing this. The websites are-

- twishart, on 04/01/2009, -0/+8Thanks - while stumbling around looking for the clip, I ended up watching quite a few Colbert clips. Win/win?

- ksgant, on 04/02/2009, -0/+3As Paddy Chayefsky predicted when he wrote the movie "Network".
- DavidRoss, on 04/01/2009, -4/+7Seth Roegan is a funny fat man in a thin mans body. It was strange to see, and hear him in this interview.

- pdxnick, on 04/01/2009, -0/+2i ***** hate that our news does that...a seriously disturbing fact, right after these messages...

- Knowa22, on 04/02/2009, -1/+3How about a positive LSD story? That would be news worthy don't you think?
[In news-caster's voice]
"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death. Life is only a dream. And we are the imagination of ourselves.... Now here's Tom with the weather."
-The late, great Bill Hicks - Nboy514, on 04/02/2009, -0/+2Thank you sir
- yohannh, on 04/02/2009, -1/+3Will the next comment kill you?
Scroll to the top of this page, click on the sponsor banner, then go to the next comment to find out. - Remelox, on 04/02/2009, -0/+2Marshmallow.
- LouiseBonde, on 04/02/2009, -0/+2Anybody else noticed how the Selenium on his jacket disappeared/reappeared 3 times?
- xGORDOx, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Uh, how about the last eight seasons for examples.
Pretty obvious, the Daily Show demonized Bush and Republicans for the last 8 years.
Demonizing is fear mongering, you don't see it because you agree with it. But just because you agree with an opinion doesn't make it a neutral opinion. - xGORDOx, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Like I said, not popular.
So which is worse on Digg, talking bad about Obama or Jon Stewart? - adiggityam, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Simpsons did it:
"The FDA has found that a popular soft-drink may kill you. Find out which one when we come back!" - Kent Brockman - inactive, on 04/07/2009, -0/+1I know what happens before I watch it....he states what happened, then stares into the camera with a retarded smirk.. how long can he possibly live off the same joke?
- uberchaoslord, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1You = maple syrup, hockey, poutine, tim horton's coffee and everything else thats great about canada (including the fact that we're on top :P)
- bman1984, on 04/03/2009, -0/+1I am still not seeing the connection between opposing and fear-mongering. Let's take the Iraq war for example.
Fear-mongering was used to promote the Iraq war. Fear of terrorists, fear of WMDs, fear of brown people, the list goes on.
You don't have to use fear-mongering to get across every point, although that is tough for people like you to understand, as most of your news is fed to you through fear.
Find a clip, just one, even for a second, where stewart uses people fears to promote his agenda. I dare you. - mirunit, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Why would people care about things they could readily observe? Also, what if we were not told about anything bad - it is the exact kind of utopia so many of you hate.
- dlan4327, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Viva la Canada! Viva la Mirror!
Thank you sir. - pheezus, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Charlie Brooker sort of covered the "no news" stuff in his Screenwipe news episode, which this reminded me of!
- jj101, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1The man in the video? Is this a trick question?
- Remelox, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Anyone notice that he did not tell us what metal we are not getting enough of? He also did not tell us how traffic can kill us, where the deadly outbreak of AIDS is, or how much blood is in a baby.
- Remelox, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1No, it did not. I think he tried to wipe it off when the camera was not on him the first time and made it worse. I think he did it again and managed to get it off the front, but there was still some on his should with the rest of the segment. The angle he was sitting made it look more like reflected light than "selenium" but it was there the entire time.
- dlan4327, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Anyone notice how all the Stewart articles lately have used the word Nails?
He's been doing more nailing than Joe the Carpenter. -
