- Schwab, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18Why all the hate on NBC?
The article doesn't even mention that during the main season, Heroes was available the next day, all season, and later came with cast and crew commentary option. - zombiedepot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Old people don't know how to use Usenet.
- swanny89, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12They forgot Lost
- wild, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12"ABC offers six of its top shows for streaming — “Ugly Betty”, “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Men in Trees”, “Desperate Housewives”, and “Brothers & Sisters”."
They should learn to count. - qwickone, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8ABC was the only player that I was pretty happy on the entire experience. I had various problems with the other sites and I've tried all of them. I would say ABC is the standout right now, but there's still a lot to be desired.
- EvanVolm, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10Who the hell watches The CW?
- chicoer2001, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Maybe if they didnt block non-US viewers/surfers, they be more respected.
- Matteos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Lost is lost.
- reddevil3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5NBC is now offering Conan episodes on it's website...the quality is pretty good (widescreen and all). It doesn't offer all episodes of course, just the ones for the current week. No longer do I have to stay up till 12:30 for Conan.
- jasgeo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4no adverts but we (UK) pay a TV license fee.. I'd rather have the cash in my pocket. They don't have TV licenses in the US.
- evi1, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Sigh if they only streamed live content all day and everyday. These post broadcast shows are worthless to me, I really want to be able to get local channels over the internet rather then over the air or paying for basic cable.
- Error601, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Basically they're just testing out the methodology. It really won't be that useful until you can subscribe to a media service that has priority traffic to your host. There just hasn't been much interest in that except on the B2B side of things.
- univers3man, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Are you forgetting about Supernatural?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I would like to watch the hilarious US show "Wheel of Fortune" online. I saw it while on holiday there and think it's brilliant. However, I don't live in the US and no one puts it on Usenet. Why not?
- qwickone, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I think the article was only referring to what's available right now, which isn't really fair (esp to NBC). Or maybe they're not offering Heroes on their player this season?
- justlook, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I was actually shocked at how good the quality was on one of these things. It's actually watchable.
- mburk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Don't knock "The Reaper" and "Aliens in America" until you've had a chance to watch them. The pilots were very good.
- ngmcs8203, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I think they pulled Heroes eps from last season down once they announced they were going to sell the DVD box set.
- Spideristic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That's why Veronica Mars got canceled, cause not many were watching CW. (Actually not enough were watching it on UPN either) Ah.. such is the fate of underrated shows.
- fuzzynyanko, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I remember seeing my cousin watch a few of the newer Disney cartoons online and was impressed with the offering.
- bdbr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Its really a bad time to evaluate the offering, as the new season hasn't really started up. According to this, some of the most popular series - Lost, Heroes, and 24 - aren't available.
At least I HOPE its bad timing. I used this to catch episodes I'd missed last season (particularly useful since Heroes & 24 are on at the same time). ABC & Fox worked OK; NBC was always choppy. - Moskie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2you mean The Smallville Channel?
- ImOscar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I don't even know what the CW is, and it's not like I don't watch any tv.
- insanebrain, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1still prefer torrents/newsgroups. .
- str3ama, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1screw that, I'll just watch the HD/DivX version on Stage6..mkthnx!
- ibeetle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I agree with the summary 100%. More work needs to be done, but as it stands now network television online offerings are good in a pinch. Forgot to TIVO last nights Bones or Supernatural? No problem; just head over to Fox or CW on line and their they are. Yes, I know there is BitTorrent, but we are talking legal here.
However, no matter how convenient the networks make online viewing. It is going to take a hell of a lot to compete with the 42" LCD, and high definition satellite dish in the living room. - Nev9, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I wanted to watch 'My Boys' on TBS.com yesterday but couldn't because their stupid player isn't Mac compatible.
- whatthefu, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Since when is the CW major?
- vypergts, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2TiVo + Slingbox = FTW
- maskedm564, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Because its the wheel of fortune.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I hate any steaming service that requires me to download a 'special' software client to view them. I used to watch ABC's stuff on their site when it was flash based... but no more since they now require a 'special' software download.
