- WordsnCollision, on 06/03/2009, -0/+10A Weird Al Yankovic ("I Lost On Jeopardy") would be even more appropriate.
- zigardne, on 06/04/2009, -0/+5dugg for the description.
- thechosen, on 06/04/2009, -0/+3Summary:
1. He tried out
2. Still waiting on the call
3. Snarky comments - 49CentTacos, on 06/04/2009, -0/+3I've tried out a few times myself; I made as an alternate on the kids edition when I was 12, and a few times for the college edition. I have a knack it seems online, but the pressure really gets to me in real life for the written test; I feel really confident about my performance on the mock game.
The part I remember the most is this; when I was a kid as an alternate, I was watching from the side stage, and got really angry when I saw a kid whose name was pronounced "Nickel Bum" (I think his real name was somewhere along the lines of Nikol Bumb" who ended up finishing in the red. I was most pissed cause I knew I could have done a million times better than he did. That, and I was joking with an Indian contestant (who later when on to win) that if I punched him in the stomach that I'd take his place; to which he started to goad me on, daring me to do so. I look back, and genuinely wish I did. - Wuji33, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1Don't let go while I'm hangin' on.
- lisaawesome, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1I need to try out sometime. I have wanted to be on Jeopardy since I was a kid but the whole shyness thing has held me back. Academic team was so much fun for me in high school.
- ThraxyWaxy, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1I always know most of the answers on the college shows, and I laugh at the idiots who are there for missing them; but they wouldn't let a Canadian in so I don't bother.
- cquilliam, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1I think the rule is 1 Canadian per show...
- elbergel, on 06/04/2009, -0/+14. Did his best to write like Dave Barry
- Drmoroe30, on 06/05/2009, -0/+0Upvoted for use of the word "Snarky". I use the term with my dog all the time.
- rml1732, on 06/05/2009, -0/+0Certainly a well-written and entertaining piece, but did anyone else notice the unusually high concentration of semi colons? (Appropriately used I suspect)
- Drmoroe30, on 06/05/2009, -0/+0You lost on Jeopardy, baby, ohhhhh oh oh ohhhhh
