- CrunchyDeluxe, on 10/21/2008, -5/+81Reality TV: The road to the Nazification of the United States.
- jojopumpkin, on 10/21/2008, -4/+67I think the technology exists. It's called NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX
- inactive, on 10/21/2008, -11/+67Wait, so Hitler invented Fox News? Somehow, in the back of my mind, I always knew.
- inactive, on 10/21/2008, -4/+51Hitler and the Nazi's pioneered and mastered propaganda. The US has merely taken it to the next level. From shaping what we believe, what we think, to how we perceive reality, TV has enslaved the minds of most people. The key to becoming free is to turn the TV OFF!! Turn it off!
- JKap, on 10/21/2008, -7/+48In related news, on February 17, 2009 all full-power broadcast television stations in the United States will stop broadcasting on analog airwaves and begin broadcasting only in digital. (Source: dtv.gov)
- doctechnical, on 10/22/2008, -1/+31Dude, that's not funny at all. My grandfather died in a concentration camp.
He fell out of his guard tower. - urbandistrict, on 10/22/2008, -1/+25Dear, MTV Network.... Hitler did not win the war. Can we go back to playing MUSIC videos now?
- inactive, on 10/21/2008, -0/+24::cue speech from 'Network'::
- xs650, on 10/22/2008, -1/+20In the US NTSC Analog TV has been federally mandated since the start of commercial TV. Digital is just a technology change.
- leadingzero, on 10/22/2008, -5/+24OHHHhhhh - you mean "Big Brother" as in 1984 government controlled media; not "Big Brother" CBS reality TV show. However I wouldn't be surprised if reality TV was blamed on Hitler - it is just as diabolical as he was.
- unitedkronos, on 10/22/2008, -4/+18And that has what in common to the government controlling a dedicated propaganda channel?
- sirber, on 10/22/2008, -2/+16But I need it for my Wii :(
- Catspaw, on 10/21/2008, -17/+30We may have in worse than the Germans did, when you consider the mercury and cancer viruses in the vaccines, the fluoride in the water, the censorship in the mainstream media, the GM food, the aspartame in the diet drinks....etc etc etc and the propaganda on the television. Plus, this time around they plan to kill 80% of the world's population. Google Endgame.
- jojopumpkin, on 10/21/2008, -0/+13I'll say it with you! TURN IT OFF!
- TrevorBradley, on 10/22/2008, -0/+11We must protect our precious bodily fluids!
/strangelove - geneusutwerk, on 10/22/2008, -1/+12I doubt Catspaw cares much for facts.
- inactive, on 10/22/2008, -3/+13How is this news?
By 1942 he controlled all newspapers and radio stations. Tv was only the logical next step. - appleofdischord, on 10/22/2008, -3/+12I would have dugg you up if you had included conservative trash too.
- hasslinthehoff, on 10/22/2008, -0/+8Desperate Housewives is the closest we'll ever get to An Evening With Hans And Gelli. If that skull-faced redhead suddenly started wearing an SS uniform I don't even think anyone would even blink.
- borez, on 10/22/2008, -2/+11Well the Daily Mein Kempf would know ALL about that subject... wouldn't it.
- inactive, on 10/22/2008, -1/+10Hitler was a supporter of Nazi propaganda?! Who would've known?
- chrissku, on 10/22/2008, -5/+13In the United States we call it Fox News
- sodade, on 10/22/2008, -0/+8It's been months now since I disconnected DirectTV. I don't miss it.
TURN IT OFF - MurrayNRothbard, on 10/22/2008, -1/+8I knew he was still alive and working in American media.
- TheUngod, on 10/22/2008, -1/+8Jesus, this whole thread is like Godwins law times a million
- MrLlama, on 10/22/2008, -2/+9Completely the opposite actually, his political alignment was to the far right, probably one of the least socialist leaders ever. Oh wait I forgot... your just some dumb neocon who uses 'socialist' to describe anyone who even considers liberal views.
- Seidoger, on 10/22/2008, -5/+12If you'd all RTFA, you'd realize this isn't about the TV show "Big Brother" but about broadcasting on huge TV screens, Orwell's 1984-style.
Pretty interesting though, he realized the power mass broadcasts have after talking in the opening ceremony of the 1936 Berlin Olympics, and had huge plans to use it. - smackydoodle, on 10/22/2008, -0/+7Eh, I doubt it.
- siszam, on 10/22/2008, -1/+8Thinking for himself.
- inactive, on 10/22/2008, -4/+10Oh Hitler, you are so far ahead of your time.
- TremorX, on 10/22/2008, -0/+6Yes, as in cable TV. Not all mentions of bandwidth have to do with TCP/IP data transfer.
- DrReaper, on 10/22/2008, -0/+6That is right JKap and guess how many of the new 5000+ channels will be auctioned to the public? If you guess zero you would be correct.

- rolf, on 10/22/2008, -2/+8FTA:
"When the Allies overran Germany, engineers were on the point of a technological breakthrough to allow TV pictures to be transmitted to screens and sound to radio receivers."
How stupid. The 1936 Olympics in Berlin were the first to be broadcast.
http://www.tvhistory.tv/1936%20German%20Olympics%2 ... - Seidoger, on 10/22/2008, -0/+5Yes, but there's the concept of having huge tv screens everywhere outside, in shops, etc etc for mass broadcast like in all those dystopians novels/movies.
- btschul, on 10/22/2008, -2/+7How the hell is Bush like Hitler to a thinking person? If Bush is like Hitler, then Obama is like Stalin.
- cheeseron, on 10/22/2008, -1/+6The Daily Mail? Come on!
- iphilip, on 10/22/2008, -0/+5Yep, I'm willing to bet he would have voted for the bailout too.
- inactive, on 10/22/2008, -0/+5At least you have the option of finding real news and insight on the internet, as opposed to what giant corporations try to pass off as news.
- FredFredrickson, on 10/22/2008, -1/+6After reading Sony's new TOS for the PlayStation Network, you'd think they lifted their terms straight from Adolf himself.
- TremorX, on 10/22/2008, -3/+8This is like the inverse of Godwin's law - the longer you talk about Hitler & the Nazis, the probability that you'll bring up Fox News, Bush & the United States approaches one.
- doctechnical, on 10/22/2008, -0/+4John Birch? Is that you?
Peace on earth, purity of essence. - YogiWanKenobi, on 10/22/2008, -0/+4Maybe that's why they call them the Ancient Bavarian Conspiracy, New Bavarian Conspiracy, and the Consecrated Bavarian Seers.
- PopcornDave, on 10/22/2008, -1/+5You know what, ***** them all.
Aside from perhaps the News Hour on PBS there isn't one journalistic outlet on television or cable today that is interested in reporting actual news stories and not worried about their bottom line over journalism. I'd include C-SPAN with the News Hour but it doesn't have advertisements that I've ever seen. - btschul, on 10/22/2008, -1/+5Propaganda isn't something that you are forced to watch. It is "a concerted set of messages aimed at influencing the opinions or behaviors of large numbers of people by presenting facts selectively (thus lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or giving loaded messages in order to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented." That is the definition of the Huffington Joke.
- inactive, on 10/22/2008, -1/+5That's an oxymoron, kind of like your mother.
ho ho ho ho ho. - Jareth86, on 10/22/2008, -0/+3Really? Hitler didn't seem to be a fan of liberals:
"Hence it is that at the present time the liberal is the great agitator for the complete destruction of America. Whenever we read of attacks against America taking place in any part of the world the liberal is always the instigator."
-Adolf Hitler - copypastry, on 10/22/2008, -2/+6and our number ein threat on ze threatdown... Jews!
- 5xSTUN, on 10/22/2008, -0/+4Did he have more than one?
- Samila, on 10/22/2008, -1/+5You might want to consider why the government is distributing coupons for converters.
