- NoahK, on 10/10/2007, -0/+46Oh goodness... one page at a time?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+34First off, that article was a bitch to read.
Second, The only episode they gave anything under a B to was the finale. While the finale was disappointing, some of those episodes with jessica/DL deserve like a F. And giving a C+ to the finale is pretty generous too...
Whatever, can't wait for the second season. - cdawzrd, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17what the ... why is this useful? why are people digging this?
- treeromeo, on 10/10/2007, -3/+16What the f*** is Heroes?
- PatrickDonohue, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13I love this show. Really, truly and deeply. I agree that the show is far from perfect and there are some terrible performances. For me, there wasn't one episode that I found altogether disappointing but I think Ali Larter's Jessica/Nikki storyline is completely disposable and if the writer's decided, well it's too late now, to kill that entire storyline, the show would be exponentially better. I am excited but nervous about season 2. It could be great but it could just as easily be a complete nightmare.
- redlantern64, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Quentin? Is that you?
- hella81, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Because they like Heroes and didn't bother to read the article.
- bwayne1, on 10/10/2007, -5/+11Ok, sure the show's not perfect (could the Petrellis be any more annoying?), but all-in-all it follows the formula for a great geek TV show:

- NeoCortex, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5They missed the one Best Moment that I was waiting to see:
Nathan knocking Nikki out cold with a punch to the face.
That right there was one of the most enjoyable moments of the show for me. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I just wasted a click...and some typing...
- PA42, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6You don't watch that much tv if you thought Heroes was boring and poorly acted.
- Navicerts, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4all those pages to click? yeah right, no way :(
- newbill123, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Since only people interested in Heroes are reading the article, they won't rate anything really low or the reader might feel insulted. They used only five of the 12 possible points (A through C+) so the variance isn't wide enough to be offensive. In essence ET is just saying the show is better than the average stuff on TV, but nothing has been a "must watch" episode yet.
Here are the scores...
3 __ B+ __ 1: Genesis
4 __ A- __ 2: Don't Look Back
5 __ A __ 3: One Giant Leap
2 __ B __ 4: Collision
5 __ A __ 5: Hiros

2 __ B __ 7: Nothing to Hide
3 __ B+ __ 8: Seven Minutes to Midnight
4 __ A- __ 9: Homecoming
4 __ A- __ 10: Six Months Ago
3 __ B+ __ 11: Fallout
2 __ B __ 12: Godsend
1 __ B- __ 13: The Fix
3 __ B+ __ 14: Distractions

0 __ C+ __ 23: How to Stop An Exploding Man - venir, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Doesn't change the fact that she is hot.
- reed311, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I agree. I loved the show for the first dozen episodes or so. After that, it began to drag on and didn't seem to be doing much. 'Lost' began to rev up and I pretty much lost all interest in Heroes. I mean, the season finale was probably the worst hour of television I have ever watched. It was unbearably bad.
- billygreen23, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Is it just me or are DL and Nikki bad actors with a bad storyline? I just watched the first season on dvd and kept expecting them to die off. Do the creators not realize how much their storyline dumbs and slows down the show?
- MikeOSX, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Um no, I think they stole it from the bible ( http://www.bibleontheweb.com/Bible.asp )
- Jrr6415sun, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The best two episodes by far of Heroes were Company Man and the future episode.. those two episodes were some of the best TV i've ever seen... unfortunately, this article sucks, and i'm not going that far to see what they rated it.
- TrevorBelmont, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I was forced to shut the window immediately. I'll be DAMNED if I'm gonna put up with talking advertisements on the internet!
- PatrickDonohue, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I think the fact that there is that this much discussion about the show really illustrates its genius. Do I think that there are some people who hate on Heroes because everyone else loves it? Absolutely but I generally have no respect for people without genuine opinions. Are there those who genuinely dislike the show for any number of reasons? Absolutely. Is Prison Break, as mentioned above, a better show, a better drama than Heroes? Absolutely not. I do think that the amount of debate and discussion that this show generated on this thread and continues to generate is evidence enough that the show is a success... for now.
- random19, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4I don't mind Jessica's storyline that much... I just wish Hiro would hurry up and get badass.
And Mohinder is a whiny bitch, and as far as villains go, Sylar is not that great. - PA42, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3You do realize she was less that 18 for the entire first season
- Floris, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Found here too: http://wetalk.tv/heroes/937-heroes-series-1-review ...
- serpentor, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'm surprised only a C+ for the season finale. It was REALLY WEAK after such a great season of shows.. I'd give it a D
- c0ldfusi0n, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2On twenty three ad-filled pages. ***** you.
- fani, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Heroes started out well, but got freaking annoying or mind-boggling stupid. Almost everyone has super powers. I can understand dna mutation to have some control over nature, but over machines too ? Including that wireless chick who can IM from anywhere. Bogus.
1. how did sylar get the other peoples power by opening their head and taking the brain ?
2. when mohinder saves dying peter whose head is pierced by glass by sylar, why didn't mohinder kill sylar then ? He takes Peter back to Peter's house ( how'd he know where he lived ? ).
3. Almost everyone has super powers and at the 20th episode, they have more chars with super powers exposed. ridiculous.
4. Hiro couldn't save Charlie because he says he can't change the past. yet Future hiro manages to change the past by having cheerleader saved. Contradictory
5. I was expecting a Run, Lola Run kinda finale what with Hiro figuring out the timeline and all. I thought that one simple thing of saving cheerleader will branch off in something else. They completely blew this. They could've shown the original timeline and how saving cheerleader changed it.
6. Finale was hopelessly disappointing. Thats it ? Peter had to blow ? He took Nathan's power. Couldn't he have flown himself ?
Unfortunately, these shows are like 24, Lost etc. as they have continuity. Once you start watching them, you have to keep watching even though it becomes *****. - buddahead9, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I think the series started out well with the character development. But then they ran out of ideas, so they dragged out the season to make it 23 episodes long. These seems to happen to a lot of shows though. I wouldn't mind shorter seasons from TV execs if there was more of a focus on quality than quantity.
- digghasnoethics, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Heroes just felt like a committee effort - a mishmash of confused ideas and aimless wandering. The 'bad guy' and 'government spook' aspects were cookie cutter and neither individual shows, or the entire series, seemed to go anywhere.
Its a problem that often surfaces with US dramas - they don't have a single voice even within an individual episode. You can almost hear the committee voices piping up to add their own bits to each storyline, resulting in a confused mess. Contrast that with the recently-broadcast-in-the-US "Blink" episode of Doctor Who. A strong storyline with a single voice throughout that feels much tighter and more involving.
Great stories and great drama are seldom a committee effort. - stellarceltic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Nowhere near the awesomeness level of The Office... but they set the bar pretty high.
- MrDeflok, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I just saw some cool Season 2 promos here: http://digg.com/television/New_Heroes_Promo_s_Yeah ...
- danc4498, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1As awesome as Heroes was, it had a lot of moments that made me cringe, and kind of feel ashamed for liking the show. The "Save the Cheerleader" line was probably the biggest offender. But certain characters (namely peter petrelli and mohinder) would consistently make me wish I never watched this show.
- PA42, on 10/10/2007, -5/+6I liked the finale
- emorgoch, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Just recently finished going through the season for a second time to prep for the it starting up again, and I'm left doubting how well the show will be able to capture my interests for the long term.
The one thing that is really annoying me about the show is how many questions they present vs. the number of answers, and the motivation that the characters & The Company has. While the main heroes are all rather simplistic and easy to follow, all the other character have far too many questions about them. Take Linderman for example; he says that he wants to heal the world, but what does that mean? To remove all the random mutants? to remove all non-mutants? To have a world where they co-exist? Same goes for the company. Also, what's the political structure of the company? Is there a singular head, or is it more committee based? How long has the company existed? Who is/are the head(s) of the company?
What about the Patrelli grandmother? She seems to be a part of the company, but at what level? Does she have any powers? Same with Hiro's father. And what about Peter's first patron? He seems to have significance, but what is unclear, and I have no faith that that question will ever be answered.
While I don't mind there being some open questions, I feel that at the end of the first season, I should have a lot more answers than I do right now. They've introduced a lot of mystery into the show, but they haven't given any purpose or reason for that mystery, and that's really starting to get to me.
The second issue that I have is that we have powerful, god-like characters who are very easily defeated. It angers me that Sylar can easily gain and master his new powers, but Peter is left struggling the whole season (the only ability we've seen him actually get a mastery of is invisibility). And Hiro having the ability to bend space and time is artificially limited (Any character that has time travel needs to be artificially handicapped).
And the end of the first season was such a cop-out. Just kill Peter to stop him from exploding, then remove bullet to revive. Or if you think when he comes back to life he'll still explode, transport to an isolated area, and then remove bullet. Oh, and no-one notices Sylar crawling into the sewer?
I do enjoy the show greatly, but if they don't start to address some of these failings, I'm pretty sure that I'm going to lose interest in it by the end of this season. - lovek, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Digg: "If we're known for anything, it's our useful information."
- VigaDSon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This is an awesome series. Some episodes and moments aren't the best. The season finale was only okay but since it's a set up for the second season anyway its okay.
- robbiedo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I just finished watching the first season last night. I rented the HD-DVD's from Netflix, and watched on a 120" screen in native 720P. It was like watching a 20 hour theatrical production, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I wished the finale ended a little better. Personally, I was waiting for Superman and Batman to show up and bitch slap them all, and let the professionals deal with it.
- hominidx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1No, boy genius here is right. Nash Bridges was the first concept to ever use the word "Genesis" to describe a beginning!
- nukethewhales, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1When Heroes was in its 4th or 5th episode it was compared to LOST. People said that they liked Heroes because it created mysteries and then solved them just a few episodes later.
That Is what I dislike about the show. There is no thought necessary from the viewer. And I think this will cause its eventual failure. They will run out of mysteries. They are already borrowing from comic books that are known for borrowing from themselves. And they release new installments once a month. A weekly show like this will run out of ideas and unless they are able to come up with good original ones I predict in a couple of years we will be wondering "Whatever happened to that showw?" - GunsGermsSteel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Holy *****. I have better taste and writing ability than people who work at Entertainment Weekly. I don't know if that should make me happy or just horribly depressed that I don't have their job. Whether it's the blatant plagiarism, massive plot holes, or just shoddy dialogue, this show is one of the worst things on terrible. It's the kind of stuff that gives geeks a bad name because it shows that as long as you pander to them, you don't have to make something of quality. I say all this having watched every episode of the first season, wondering if it could get any worse. The answer was always "YES."
- TrevorBelmont, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1BTW, I buried this as spam because of all the aggressive ads. Don't take this ***** from the internet.
- serendipity0, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Bunch of season two spoilers at http://heroeswiki.com/Spoiler:Season_Two Just in case you can't wait until next week. :)
- Jrr6415sun, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I didn't go past the first page.
- Daiken, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The series was amazing till the finale. Then they failed to deliver what should have been an episode capable of writing itself. I'm no longer nearly as interested in season 2 as I was. In all honestly, looking back, the plot is okay, but it's sloppy.
Lost and Battlestar Galactica though are still amazing. - TrevorBelmont, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1TL;DR. Buried
- UwasaWaya, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0You wonder why Peter only used invisibility, well, think about it... he only can use an ability if he remembers how someone made me feel when he met them. Obviously, meeting Claude as he was invisible and stealing things, he was confused... and how did Peter act and look the ENTIRE season? Confused. Boom. They never even needed to have an actor for him, just a voice.
- redlantern64, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Here's the problem I have w/ the show. I waited all season long for some real actual action to happen. Except for a "future" confrontation between Peter and Siler (and we never got to see them really go at it), I'm still waiting. This series is the equivalent of watching Marvel's old "New Universe" line of comics, and just as exciting. I'll probably give it about a half a season more, but if it still limps along at its dull pace, I'm bailing.
- kds405, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0The Heroes finale was so disappointing. The show should have been brave and continued after the "Five Years Gone" episode. We've seen the vision of the ending since the first few episodes. It played out pretty much like they said it would. I would have loved to see some moment where Claire, Matt, Peter, Nathan, and Niki and whoever else come together as a team. I know they are not the Justice League or whatever but I would have loved to see their powers converge and kill Sylar (not just send him down the drain).
