George W on 'Deal or No Deal' watch!
youtube.com — "Howie, I don't know if you're free to come to Washington anytime soon, but I have to go to Congress and reach a deal on the federal budget. How'd you like to host a three trillion dollar 'Deal or No Deal?'"

- emehrkay, on 04/22/2008, -1/+1Yeah...classic because it took that solider being on deal or no deal to be thanked by his president

- arpad, on 04/22/2008, -7/+7You can be sure that a president Gore or Kerry would never have bothered themselves with the sacrifices of a mere captain.
- jeremyduffy, on 04/22/2008, -8/+2Yes he does. But thank god not for long.
- jeremyduffy, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1As in he rules like a king/dictator! Oh, nevermind.

- Slagtits, on 04/22/2008, -10/+59Dumbest President ever.
- fatrandy13, on 04/22/2008, -5/+1Highest approval rating: George W. Bush holds the record with 92%
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Approval_rating- mooseofshadows, on 04/22/2008, -1/+4He also holds the record for the lowest approval rating as well as the highest disapproval rating.
- DaManDOH, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1When did Bush earn that approval rating again? Oh yea! After a huge terrorist attack on U.S. soil and one of the greatest tragedies in American history. You know, the one that happened on his watch; the one he was warned about time and again those eight months before? Lest we forget, he was standing on the rubble of the WTC, speaking passionately to a bunch of New Yorkers from a bullhorn. You see, after 9/11, we were all grasping for the thin straws of a foolish little thing called "hope."
Thanks to Bush & Co.'s nearly daily flogging of that tragedy ever since, the death-day of almost 3,000 of my fellow citizens has practically become a punchline; only a scant 6.5 years later.
- fatrandy13, on 04/22/2008, -5/+1Highest approval rating: George W. Bush holds the record with 92%
- DeadFox1, on 04/22/2008, -1/+13Apparently, you haven't seen "Moment of Truth"

- earthceltic, on 04/22/2008, -19/+7Do you know a country is headed toward militant dictatorship when the president no longer makes a single live appearance in non-government areas? Is he that scared that the people hate him so much? Something about the "face from the sky" scenario makes me shudder... Come on, the guy did all that and you can't shake his hand?
- elnerdo, on 04/22/2008, -3/+11-_-
Are you serious? Honestly, the guy's a sucky president, but give him some credit: Appearing on Deal or No Deal at least proves that he's not totally inhuman. If you remember correctly, that's basically why we elected him in the first place. He's very likable. - Musicmonkey34, on 04/22/2008, -3/+4I agree with einerdo. taking 10 minutes of of his day to record a comment is totally cool. taking a weekend to fly out to california for 30 seconds on a game show would have been unacceptable.
- elnerdo, on 04/22/2008, -3/+11-_-
- Jovensdesciple, on 04/22/2008, -24/+5You want to deal with some real issues democrats... or do you just want to keep on dealing with the regrets of being a bitch? Here's a tissue crybaby, and over here is something for you to suck on.
- mikephimikephi, on 04/22/2008, -8/+42shucks, we sure do got a fine president
- r4ge, on 04/22/2008, -15/+5President of my anus.
- veloscaper, on 04/22/2008, -0/+8I don't think that means what you think it means.
- magicaltrevor, on 04/22/2008, -4/+102I found it fun that he acknowledged the fact that most Americans think he's a terrible president (re: the ratings gag).
- veloscaper, on 04/22/2008, -2/+20it's easy to laugh about what you don't give a ***** about..heh heh heh....
- timusca, on 04/22/2008, -8/+2and if he didn't laugh, he still wouldn't give a *****, right? You libs are ridiculous...
- optimuscrime, on 04/22/2008, -2/+7Actually, yes. Veloscaper may laugh or not laugh and he can still validly maintain his position that the president doesn't give a ***** about his ratings.
Here is why you failed:
"It's easy to laugh about what you don't give a ***** about." is not equivalent to saying, "You do give a ***** about something you don't laugh at."
Veloscaper could have had his mind made up that the president does not give a ***** about his ratings. The president could not be laughing, and Velo could still make a witty comment about the president not giving a ***** about his ratings. That does not mean that Velo has been illogical or hypocritical.
His comment wasn't liberal in nature since It wasn't referring to any issue that has political polarity. I understand that you may assume he supports liberal views since he is making a joke concerning a conservative figurehead. However, that does not give you logical ground to label him a liberal and then using your prior ill conceived sentence as support for the claim that liberals are ridiculous.
What we've learned:
Don't use faulty logic when trying to be sarcastic. It loses the effect.
Don't use faulty logic to support a preconceived notion about a demographic.
Bonus Protip!:
In general, you shouldn't use abbreviated labels for demographics. It makes you sound like you wouldn't think twice about performing a hate crime, and this sets a bad tone. There are exceptions to this. Some would not consider "Jew" to be much more offensive than "Jewish", and "Fag" seems to be less offensive than "*****". So if in doubt, avoiding labeling people all together will serve you best.
I hope this helps in your future commenting, and good luck!
-OC - DaManDOH, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1While optimuscrime has already done a terrific job enumerating your ignorance, timusca, I believe I'll jump on the dogpile with this:
Bush and Cheney have claimed REPEATEDLY that they don't give a ***** about polls, especially ones concerning the wars. They say they don't care because history will see their actions as justified. According to them, one day the world will look back and see the Middle East is better off having lost those hundreds of thousands of Iraqis along with four thousand American servicemen and servicewomen. That's called using the ends to justify the means, and it's a damned dangerous way to do business, especially as a national leader.
- optimuscrime, on 04/22/2008, -2/+7Actually, yes. Veloscaper may laugh or not laugh and he can still validly maintain his position that the president doesn't give a ***** about his ratings.
- timusca, on 04/22/2008, -8/+2and if he didn't laugh, he still wouldn't give a *****, right? You libs are ridiculous...
- dralezero, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2Defense mechanism. Wait I don't think Bush knows anything about defense.
- Tayls, on 04/23/2008, -0/+3Yeah, I love how he comes on the show to make light of the fact that everyone hates him and he drove us even MORE into debt by 3 trillion dollars. (insert laugh track) ***** morons.
- veloscaper, on 04/22/2008, -2/+20it's easy to laugh about what you don't give a ***** about..heh heh heh....
- chaos7, on 04/22/2008, -13/+7why would the crowd "oooh" and "ahhh" over george w. bush
- EpicSelekta, on 04/22/2008, -5/+5Because they select their own crowds.
- snareguy17, on 04/22/2008, -7/+5If they booed, then they'd be shot.
- Revovisionary, on 04/22/2008, -5/+7Because they give gifts to people in the crowd that cheers the most. They do it in most shows with a live audience to get max participation.
- Nevarius, on 04/22/2008, -0/+2Don't know why your getting digged down, but its true. I've worked as an extra on shows before and its pretty much cheer-leading. Not that hard to get the crowd going with plants in the crowd.
- quomen, on 04/22/2008, -3/+2No offense, you guys are a little stupid.
- midbc, on 04/22/2008, -1/+1a really really huge applause sign
- MrBone, on 04/22/2008, -2/+3Hypnotoad was there just before Bush.
- FUR10N, on 04/22/2008, -4/+9he's the president, I would like to meet him too
- Bigtruck, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1Signs telling them to.
- purzzzell, on 04/22/2008, -7/+101A good friend of mine said it like this:
"He's a funny guy, I'd definitely vote for him to be our president again IF the president didn't actually have the power to DO anything."- Slagtits, on 04/22/2008, -10/+14He's a ***** but he does have comedic timing.
- Servebot, on 04/22/2008, -5/+4you should have used that as your own quote, so that the internet would think you are cool...
- purzzzell, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1I personally am much happier to personally think I'm cool for going through the effort of not stealing credit from someone no one here knows when I very easily could have.
- lanemik, on 04/22/2008, -2/+11I'd totally vote for him to be president of the frat house. I'd follow him to a water balloon war with the sorority next door. Onward water balloon soldiers!
- kyouteki, on 04/22/2008, -0/+5I don't know how I'd feel about the frat boys being over there for 5 years, though...
- DaManDOH, on 04/23/2008, -3/+1Does your friend know about the debt he's driven up, the habeas corpus act out of which he's taken a significant chunk, and the men and women whom have died in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Seems like Bush has quite a bit of power -- mostly destructive power, mind you -- and it's all power he's gained because we didn't stop him from taking it. Regrettably, a lot of us seemed to have assumed he was powerless.
- Slagtits, on 04/22/2008, -10/+14He's a ***** but he does have comedic timing.
- Hangly, on 04/22/2008, -9/+43It makes my fingers itch to type this, but that was actually kind of cool.
He's still the worst president ever though.- 9bpm9, on 04/22/2008, -7/+3Worst president in your lifetime, not ever.
- DaManDOH, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1I'd have to agree with Hangly, 9bpm9, and without a drop of hyperbole or irony... Bush Jr. is the worst ever.
- VitriolAndAngst, on 04/22/2008, -3/+7When history looks back at how America fell, and how this knob did nothing but back up corporations while a huge crisis in food and climate was looming and he frittered away the opportunity to do something about that -- yeah, Bush will be the worst President ever.
Hopefully, the first to be convicted of war crimes at the Hague.- p0s3r, on 04/22/2008, -7/+3The food crisis is a direct result of the global warm-mongering from you climate nazis. That you manage to blame that on Bush is unreal.
- rhoffer21, on 04/22/2008, -4/+3Global warming IS happening. To claim its not is just insanity. The same people who think the world is going to end in their lifetime and their imaginary friend in the sky is going to come swoop them away are the same ones that dont give a damn about the earth dying.
- p0s3r, on 04/22/2008, -7/+3The food crisis is a direct result of the global warm-mongering from you climate nazis. That you manage to blame that on Bush is unreal.
- cvrefugee, on 04/22/2008, -2/+1James Buchanan
Jimmy Carter- r00fus, on 04/22/2008, -1/+3Dugg down for Carter... he wasn't remotely the worst president.
- ShredZ, on 04/23/2008, -1/+0Yay! Bash Bush because he's a safe target... why not venture out and say something original? Or would that require too much thought and the risk of getting dugg down by others just like you?
Franklin Pierce didn't even receive his party's nomination for a second term. (Interestingly enough, Bush is related to Pierce)
William Henry Harrison offed himself by not wearing a jacket at his inauguration
All this and more on "Assume the Position 201"- DaManDOH, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1Bush is a safe target for criticism, eh? Tell that to a few select "guests" of Guantanamo Bay.
- 9bpm9, on 04/22/2008, -7/+3Worst president in your lifetime, not ever.

- jakobrowning, on 04/22/2008, -0/+7I'm willing to bet it wasn't a live stream, probably pre-recorded hours before hand.
- SpeedyG, on 04/23/2008, -0/+3Nothing on that show is done live. EVERYTHING is edited into a fine paste.
- A2007HokieAlumn, on 04/22/2008, -16/+10That clip made me vomit my breakfast
- FuckXboxx, on 04/22/2008, -9/+7Surely a sign the end of days has come.
- noob09, on 04/22/2008, -7/+5Hahaha... seems fitting, especially after that article stating "Deal or no Deal' to be one of the dumbest on television.
- VitriolAndAngst, on 04/22/2008, -1/+2And that would be where is "base" is. At least they didn't have to ad the phony cheering track like at the baseball game where everyone booed him.
- KingLeo, on 04/22/2008, -7/+41As much as I dislike the man, that was a cool gesture. Every man and woman who's gone to war for this country deserves this kind of acknowledgement (and then some).
- midejitsu, on 04/22/2008, -6/+5It was a bit hollow, though. He spent two seconds congratulating the soldier and the rest of the time joking with Howie Mandel. If it had been the other way around …
- *blu*, on 04/22/2008, -1/+7He did spend more time congratulating the soldier, but this clip cut it out. See here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=hAfgTC37yZA
- WTFISAMOLLUSK, on 04/22/2008, -2/+5Why is everyone making it seem like hes the dudes best friend? That gesture was just as thoughtless as the 9/11 bumper stickers. All he did was say some prewritten ***** on film, he didn't write it himself, hand select the dude, learn all about him and send him a fruit basket. Wonder how many of our wounded soldiers he has personally done anything for. Most likely I will be called a Lib/Liberal and be buried for stating the obvious.
- DaManDOH, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1Hear-hear, WTFISAMOLLUSK. This was a case study in "bread and circuses."

- imcostalong, on 04/22/2008, -6/+54That gentlemen deserved the honor, no matter how bad the president, it is still America's leader acknowledging a brave man. Props to him and his service.
- forgottenhope, on 04/22/2008, -12/+4blow me. emotions and egos are why we are like this, none the less im sure the crowd was cued to cheer, if you didnt cheer they would re-record. ***** george bush with a passion of christ.
- defwheezer, on 04/22/2008, -5/+6GW (worst president ever) Bush, Destroyer of America, uses another brave soldier as a political prop. HUrrah?
- DaManDOH, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2He... was on... a GAME SHOW. What do you think, imcostalong, the contestant will get a "Deal or No Deal" medal? A pre-recorded message from his commander-in-chief -- god knows how long after his last tour -- isn't exactly the Congressional Medal of Honor. How many people whom have served just as many or even more tours received a personal message from the President, pre-recorded or otherwise?
I'm sure Captain Joseph Kobes knew that were he not appearing on a national TV show, he would have never been given anything like it. He was used by Bush; he was paid $26,000 for the "privilege."

- TimCoves, on 04/22/2008, -7/+1wow its great to see the American government has important stuff to do :l
- daleok, on 04/22/2008, -6/+1Very nice gesture by the show to recognize the soldier. But on the same token, it is a desperate measure to try and boost ratings for a show that is dying on the vine. And quite honestly I would expect by showing GW they are going to lose more viewers.
- davewashere, on 04/22/2008, -10/+4Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... oh god, we're so ***** right now. In just 9 months, we're going to put someone else in charge of the big person decisions, and I hope his or her first decision is to make this boy president write a thank you note to each and every member of the U.S. military.
- neolarthytep, on 04/22/2008, -4/+1Like who Obama.... HA... All three candidates are just as bad if not worse than Bush

- AaronSTL, on 04/22/2008, -7/+4Bush was there trying to borrow money from Howie for the war.
He should have been on "Are You Dumber Than a First Grader". - dupswapdrop, on 04/22/2008, -7/+2Was OBL in one of the cases? And how many cases had bombs in them?
- DaManDOH, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1Bush didn't have the opportunity to check under the ladies' dresses.
- Lasereth, on 04/22/2008, -1/+23One day I really wanted to go to the Deal or No Deal auditions that were taking place 1 mile from my apartment. Then I googled that 10,000 people usually show up so I played Call of Duty 4 instead. Man I hate the MP5.
- Intamin, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2Haha, you hate using it or getting killed by it? It's not so bad with the red dot scope. :)
- Lasereth, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1I'm using the silencer with UAV jammer on hardcore servers for my ninja-silent assassin type of gameplay. Trying to get all of the challenges done with it so I can get the Golden Mini-Uzi (my favorite gun).

- Lancer28, on 04/22/2008, -2/+8I love how something simple as Bush being on a TV game show rallies the cry for Impeachment/War Crimes/Stupid Comments
- DaManDOH, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1It's the risk Bush and Cheney both take any time they poke their heads out of their hidden bunker.
