- S2000, on 07/03/2009, -5/+19***** FOX NEWS.
- Soleanthia, on 07/02/2009, -1/+12Be "fair and balanced"?
- donotclickjim, on 07/03/2009, -1/+9The article states that Fox loses out when websites are included. This isn't too surprising. Fox's website is terrible.
- bixby1, on 07/03/2009, -2/+9uh, did you read the story at all? calling his editor, then his editor's editor, trying to halt the story, isn't just questioning statistics, and it's certainly not 'standoffish'. It about the heavy-handed tactics Fox employs to deal with people who disagree with them. If Fox is willing to go this far over an issue that the author admittedly describes as 'dull', how far will they go to stifle larger media threats to their machine?
- wtrwlkr, on 07/03/2009, -2/+8Dugg for phrase "From zero to *****"
- wtrwlkr, on 07/03/2009, -0/+6Put an (R) next to the name of Republicans who go against Traditional Family Values (TM)
- rdoger6424, on 07/03/2009, -2/+6.... /s?
- inactive, on 07/02/2009, -7/+11fox news harassing a reporter by trying to stifle a two paragraph story. what won't these douche nozzles do?
- r00fus, on 07/03/2009, -0/+3Don't... you'll catch something!
- FreddieD, on 07/03/2009, -1/+4"Logical people know that Fox News gives the best and most unbiased news coverage..."
Not even the usual conservative trolls on Digg would dare to say that. - AdmiralAcbar, on 07/03/2009, -0/+3Dugg for douche nozzles.
- Moralogic, on 07/03/2009, -0/+2My mom would be proud of him, because she knows that Fox News is full of *****.
- inactive, on 07/03/2009, -5/+7You stay classy, Fox.
- positron, on 07/03/2009, -2/+4The downfall of Fox News won't be immanent until they run out of ***** to scare people about.
- Favreism, on 07/03/2009, -4/+5To be fair, there's a large demographic of Fox News disciples who don't know how to use the Internet...
- jezsik, on 07/03/2009, -1/+2"Franken data"?
- dire, on 07/03/2009, -0/+1Fried Shrimp
- ArchangelZLT, on 07/06/2009, -0/+1She might be, you never know.
- sooperdooper, on 07/03/2009, -0/+1Gee, I guess the Nielsen ratings aren't an accurate measure of society's interest after all!
- sooperdooper, on 07/03/2009, -0/+1Yeah, 'cause people who work and vote don't know how to do anything else, let alone produce media or participate in an online culture. Go back to your old myths about the apathy and servility of the working class. We're moving on and we just don't need you anymore.
- Moralogic, on 07/03/2009, -0/+1And if you look at their fan base, they are not exactly the most internet savvy people in the world, if they can even afford internet. (Which is hard not to since there are free options out there.)
- DavidNiven, on 07/03/2009, -5/+6Sounds like sour grapes to me. Fox News is on top. Heck, their commercials have better ratings than the bes that CNN and MSNBC can offer.
- wtrwlkr, on 07/03/2009, -0/+1And if they do, this is usually the only website they visit:
http://www.thefoxnation.com/ - p51d007, on 07/03/2009, -2/+3Yeah, but since Digg is populated by socialist & libs, it gets dugg down.
- OriginalLucid1, on 07/03/2009, -3/+3Kool-Aid! Get yer Kool-Aid here!
- BahamutSalad, on 07/03/2009, -0/+0Data from website traffic rating / comparison systems isn't really all that meaningful. You have to decide if you're going to measure each individual page load, or just each video load. If two people load it up from the same IP address are two people viewing the video in a household, or did someone just move from their desktop to their laptop to watch it, or is it a whole country sharing an IP.
It's really quite impossible to track this data and make fair comparisons based on it.
He's used the phrase "franken data" to convey that the data may be crap because of whatever methods did/didn't use to get the data in the first place. Again, such data doesn't mean a hell of a lot really. - ilbbaicl, on 07/03/2009, -3/+3Geisha Balance!
- Moralogic, on 07/03/2009, -1/+1Which is why...
1. Fox News has a huge Republican fan base.
2. Republicans (90) have a 15 point IQ gap from Democrats (105).
3. ???
4. Fox News makes Profit - merky1, on 07/03/2009, -6/+6I think the headline is a little sensationalist. At most, Fox was questioning the statistics used to change the ratings. In an industry (TV) that lives and dies by ratings, I can understand any news organization being standoffish. But since this is the evil Faux, everyone goes batty on both sides.
- merky1, on 07/03/2009, -2/+2Yeah, after the blogger hung up on them. I'm thinking that there is more to the hang up and the call backs than we are being told.
- UnbiasedDigger, on 07/03/2009, -2/+1Franken data has it's origins from liberal Senator Al Franken. By using coercive techniques and counting selective votes (data) you can secure a seat in Congress.
- p51d007, on 07/03/2009, -3/+1EXACTLY! The nutjobs on the net are not the target audience for fox. The target for fox is people who actually WORK and VOTE. These conspiracy nuts that live in their parents basements, drink red bull, & play WoW 24/7 are not the target audience of Fox.
Libs will do ANYTHING to put down Fox......so much for "free speech". - dzneill, on 07/03/2009, -8/+6They lost it a long ***** time ago..
- osuivan, on 07/03/2009, -4/+1Your mother must be so proud of you with posts like that.
- Doc123, on 07/03/2009, -9/+5More moonbat hatred toward fox news.
buried. - geoffg, on 07/03/2009, -9/+5Oh look, another sensationalized libtarded headline on Digg...
- Wosat, on 07/03/2009, -9/+4Another day, another Fox-bashing article... buried.
- UnbiasedDigger, on 07/03/2009, -9/+3Remember when liberals and other Fox News haters were saying that the downfall of Fox would be imminent because the Bush era was over and that a Democrat would be in office? Well, Fox News ratings have been even higher. What's the new excuse for Fox News' success now?
Logical people know that Fox News gives the best and most unbiased news coverage of all the networks while other ultra liberal news outlets (cue MSNBC) are floundering. Just because a news channel happens to report news that isn't 100% biased towards the far left, doesn't mean you have to attack and discredit it by any means possible. You can hate all you want, but it won't do you any good. - brandita, on 07/02/2009, -12/+5Fox News FTW! lolz.
