- jschrab, on 10/10/2007, -1/+56Ok. It DOES look like LOST season 4 will have some more WTF!? in store for us. Very good!
- SilentHill2009, on 10/10/2007, -3/+45It's the most downloaded and Tivo'ed show in the world. You obviously don't keep up with current news about TV.
- jbus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+39Most important is the mention of the Casimir effect... The quantum mechanics of the Casimir effect can be used to produce a locally mass-negative region of space-time, and suggested that negative effect could be used to stabilize a wormhole to allow faster than light travel.
- swhite76, on 10/10/2007, -1/+36And why does the guy in all the orientation films use a different name every time? Dang I'm ready for Season 4 to start!
- allywilson, on 10/10/2007, -2/+36Ok...how about some crazy Lost discussion? :-)
wtf was with the same rabbit? What was the "God loves you as he loved Jacob" message about. What was that tall building? What was with the clip of the dude riding his bicycle (upside down film as well?) about?
These are the questions - now lets speculate :-D - anthrt, on 10/10/2007, -1/+32The "God loves you as he loved Jacob" message was also in the brainwashing video that was shown to Karl.
- xpankrat, on 10/10/2007, -1/+28Most important actually is a copy of the same rabbit appearing in the room. Little doubt that It IS the same rabbit, that's why the doctor is screaming "don't let them close together". The short exchange that follows seems to imply that the (time ?) shift was set to -20 (minutes ?), but something went wrong as they were only on 9th (minute ?) when the 2nd rabbit appeared.
All in all, the wrapped time theory is a very cool one :) - conman16x, on 10/10/2007, -0/+24And all of his names are candle related. Candle, Wickman, Halliwax.
- EvilDr.X, on 10/10/2007, -1/+25Yeah, but I hear whispering all the time, so I don't make too much of it.
- edz0nk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+20The building was from Bergen, Norway. It's been seen before in the orientation films. Alvar Hanso is standing in one of the windows.
- lo0ol, on 10/10/2007, -0/+20I thought LOST was borderline garbage for the first half of last season, but I'll admit that the last half or so of episodes this season were much better. The season finale leads me to think that the rest of the show is going to be on par with the quality exhibited in the first season and a half, so even I'm excited about it. I think it was the Jack-Kate-Sawyer threesome that bored me earlier; less romantic entanglement stories and more crazy stories about the island, please, and you'll make me a happy watcher.
- rhabd0mancer, on 10/10/2007, -8/+27Of course we still watch it.
Lost is much better than, say, Heroes. - peranadigital, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20This looks pretty cool but it's almost mean to put out something so thought-provoking considering the new episodes won't be on until February.
- polymorphist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+19Anybody hear whispering in the beginning?
- teamgwho, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20to those who have been restless over the drawn out nature of the show, the constant wtf momnents, the lack of answers.... let me compare this for a moment with Harry Potter. No spoilers I promise. J K Rowling said that as she was writing the first book, she already knew pretty much how book 7 would end, at least the last 1/3. She knew what Harry's purpose was, why and how his parents died, why Voldemorte's killing curse backfired, etc etc etrc. The devil was in the details of filling the gap between book one and book seven.
Every book had a clear plot that had a beginning and end, but those books were merely stepping stones along a larger path. Once you read the conclusion og book 7 you see tons of minor details sprinkled here and there thruout the first 6 that may have not had any importance at the time but upon further retrospection had an enormous meaning, we just didn't know it. Sure there were innumerable questions asked a long the way, and we got answers in a big way, the payoff being the end of book 7.
The big problem with Lost has been that the writers apparently knew, as Rowling did, what the overall plot was all about, what the big mystery was, and what the final resolution will be. Unlike Rowling, who knew she would write 7 books total and could reveal what she needed to as she felt was appropriate, the writers of Lost had no idea whether this show would even last one season, 5 or 10. And as the show became a mnegahit it seemed very likjely that it could last 10 years theoretically. But then the question is at what point do they release certain key plot details, when do they answer some questions? the uncertainty of the end date made it a difficult job decided when to do what.
The best thing that ever could've happened to Lost was for them to announce a difinitive end date so now, just as Rowling knw she had 7 books to tell the tale of HP, they know how long before they get to conclude the story.
//end rant - bondsbustyblond, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18Thanks to the person who took this and to Dark for posting the video for all of us to see.. Hope TPTB release it soon..
- EvilDr.X, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17Can someone please explain the Casimir effect...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casimir_effect
to me in a way that makes sense, assuming that I'm at least partially retarded? - titlesaysitall, on 10/10/2007, -3/+18Are you a spoiler?
- Chongo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15The Casimir Effect thing, if you check it out on wikipedia, has something to do with stabilizing wormholes. I hope they don't go too far into this route but its obvious (in regards to Sci-Fi geekery/TV knowledge) that if two of the same people (or rabbits) were to touch each other, wouldn't that create an anti-matter explosion? or a paradox or something?
I hope it dosn't, but I have this feeling that the show will reveal that the island is some intersecting path in time/space and all of these elements are bleeding through (or have bled through at one point or another). - aaarrrggghhh, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14The objects that falls is a flask, at the beginning of the clip there are 2 flasks on the shelf behind him, the rabbit appears and pushes one off, when it shows the rabbit on the shelf there's only 1 flask left.
Something like this

- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14Notice that he has both arms and is wearing a swan logo jacket.
- bxcbxc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12Ok, you are almost right. It's actually the town hall in my hometown, Narvik(Norway). http://folk.ntnu.no/jonkjeti/Lost/Narvik2.jpg
( http://www.lost-norge.net/go/183 norwegian source ) - ihatethebych, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11i don't see how that this would make sense since he talks about the airline giving them a golden pass because of the crash, because if they were back in time when jacks dad was alive the crash wouldn't have happened
- estacado, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11What was the thing that fell from the ceiling?
- sroske, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12now we understand more about desmond's time travel. clearly the rabbit had traveled in time somehow "DON'T LET THEM TOUCH EACH OTHER!!"
- Vasant56, on 10/10/2007, -4/+14At 1:08-1:09 there is a subliminal frame with the message "God loves you as he loved Jacob"
- WanderLink, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Then you'd be a necrophiliac.
- andburn1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9No it doesn't.
- EvilDr.X, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Everyone you know, yourself included, is missing out. Catch up, finish the third season, then try trolling with backhanded insults.
- robbielaney, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8I love when people don't read the comments before posting something like this. Yes, we know this is what it says. We have seen this in about 18 comments now. Thanks for the refresher course though!
- RickRoll, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11Ahh, the obligatory pretentious ant-lost comment.
BTW, its better than ever. - MISDIREK7ED, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8That is Gerald DeGroot.
http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Gerald_DeGroot - apologeticus, on 10/10/2007, -4/+12The Casimir effect may be a clue into what happened at the end of the last season. Perhaps a wormhole was created and the losties who escaped the island went back in time through it. That would explain how they seemed to have wound up in the past (Jack's father is still alive?) but still remember living on the island.

or
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bTvAUVPyLI - punkrawkintrev, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10OK kids here's the rundown,
The Casimir Effect is the most important message, it refers to a theory of time travel.
The first blip of the building is from one of lost online experience sites, they show alvar hanso in one of the windows
The dude on the bike, Alvar Hanso
God loves you as he loved Jacob In the bible Jacob, grandson of Abraham, was known to be rebellious and in fact his name even means struggles with God in Arabic my guess on that one is that either the Jacob in lost is struggling with "time travel" caught between times, or this is a reference to Jack who has trouble with the idea of faith - thesportoflife, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7they showed alex skinny and cutting up a white rabbit near the end of season 3 when ben was about to show locke the island.
- bIuebonics, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8seriously? i hope they go for the most detailed sci-fi / physics explanation possible. it's about time there's a show that isn't going to potentially dumb it down.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7That can't be possible. The airline gave a Gold ticket to the flight 815 survivors so they actually crashed. It seems you didn't understand the last episode...
- norman619, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Hey I found another odd thing in the film. Just before the dupe rabbit pops into existance we see what I first took for a film glitch but going frame by frame the thing is a 3D object. It drops through the frame as the guy is talking AND it is casting a shadow. Check it out at 00:01:23
- bIuebonics, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7lost has the potential to be one of the best series ever. with the mention of the casimir effect and the shots of "a brief history of time" it looks like they're not going to dumb down the final explanation for the general viewing audience. frankly, this makes lost more relevant than anything else on tv, as almost EVERYTHING else on tv now is for the half retarded.
- slickhare, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I'm getting sick of people trying to go against the grain to make themselves feel cool. Lost is a good show, get over it.
- marm0t, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7And all this time I thought and Orchid was a flower...
- kickcows, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6showing degroot in a frame makes me very happy. i wonder when we're going to get the backstory on him.
freaky rabbits. - bIuebonics, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7lol, i'll try. in physics forces can be described as fields in which all points in space are assigned a value and each value corresponds, and changes in correspondence, in relation to the fundamental particle of that force, ie electromagnetic field is characterized by the quantum states of photons. there are four fundamental forces in the universe, electromagnetic force, gravity, and the weak and strong nuclear forces. now, in a vacuum there applies the designation of the field forces as well, this logically gives a vacuum the measurable quantities of the force particles, ie photons, gluons, etc have spin, charge, etc. well, so does the potential space for where they can exist. these potential spaces normally cancel out, as particle properties have the full range of properties, thus leaving the vacuum empty, but there are random fluctuations of virtual particles. well, these random fluctuations of virtual particles cause changes in the field in the vacuum, creating oscillations of the field points, causing a force to be exerted between two objects at very close distances. it should be noted that this force is separate from the fundamental forces, even though the electromagnetic force may be calculated due to photons popping into existence, the casimir effect is not an electromagnetic force as it is also applicable with other particles and their fundamental forces. - note, i'm not a physicist, i study mathematics... this is the best explanation i can muster for the quick reading about the effect. it's in the best layman terms i can muster, if i erred, please correct me... :)
- Cl1mh4224rd, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7> "What was the "God loves you as he loved Jacob" message about."
It was part that brainwashing video that Carl (Alex's boyfriend) was being forced to watch when Kate, Sawyer, and Alex rescued him. - iakupo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Did anyone but me, when they saw that rabbit think "RUN AWAY, RUN AWAY" ??
- cloudnin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I think it's a light bulb.
http://img54.imageshack.us/img54/192/8384se7.jpg - andburn1, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Ahahahahahahaahah Heroes is NOT a great show. It's silly and fun, but it doesn't even touch the complexity, the production value, the acting, the writing, and just the general quality of Lost.
- teamgwho, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I've read numerosu statements where they've said that from day one they knew where they were headed, they just didn't know how much time they had to get there. or if they ever would get there.
