- dn11, on 03/18/2008, -5/+16"I'm just starting to work on the scripts now for the live-action TV series... I'm finishing the scripts for the third year. And now I'm working on the scripts for the first year of the live-action show...So it's a lot of scripts"..........By "I'm" I sure hope he means "a team of actual writers far more talented than me".... otherwise...
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" - coachmcguirk, on 03/18/2008, -4/+14I'll be honest, I am not expecting to be blown away by this...
- danielrh9, on 03/18/2008, -1/+11Just let me know when they start production on the Thrawn Trilogy.
- Scottievm, on 03/18/2008, -0/+9Good or not, I'm pretty sure we'll all end up watching whatever he puts out. I know I will, and I'm not embarrassed to say so.
- Coven, on 03/18/2008, -0/+9He does mean "a team of writers under my guidance and supervision"
- fkr3, on 03/18/2008, -1/+9I'm glad they're finally doing more with the story. I read Star Wars books all through my teenage years and loved them, other authors expanded on the story in various cool directions that I'd pay to see on the big screen.
- bjs3171, on 03/18/2008, -0/+6what he said about Indiana Jones makes me feel good. i'm glad there will be no F-14s flying under bridges (funny, i didn't know there even WERE F-14s in the 40's), just a good ol' adventure story.
- ClunkClunk, on 03/19/2008, -0/+5I could be wrong, but I wonder if Lucas was referring to the scene in Live Free & Die Hard where the F-35 tangled with McClane at that freeway interchange. It felt very CG, very forced, and not true to the original Die Hard style action, so maybe that's what Lucas was trying to convey.
- XoieJuno, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4He keeps talking about those other movies! I really do hope he gets to make them someday. All this star wars stuff he's setting up sounds like it will be amazing. I loved all 6 star wars movies so I'm looking forward to anything new. Not exactly a popular opinion around here but it is just entertainment. You either love it or watch something else I suppose.
- pinkcherry, on 03/18/2008, -0/+4Am I the only to notice but um.. what happened to George Lucas's neck?
- tewcewl, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3He had a make out session with a Sarlaac.
- footfwd, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3Mmmmm mixed feelings have I.
- inactive, on 03/18/2008, -9/+11Great, more crap.
- Matri, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2Well said, Your Majesty.
- heartcoldfusion, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2EW: Star Wars feature films are over, though, right?
GL: No more, no more. I mean, except for this kind of stuff, which is sort of spinoffs of TV shows. - Matri, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2That is the ugliest Clone Commander suit I have ever seen. It looks like he has a pot belly.
And made out of cheap cardboard by a 4th grader. - crowbar77, on 03/18/2008, -2/+4"GEORGE LUCAS: I'm just starting to work on the scripts now for the live-action TV series. "
What Lucas is doing the scripts, hasnt he ruined the franchise enough? Some people just don't know when to step down. - Ebeach, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2I said much the same in a recent star wars article. It would blow away anything georgie wrote, which is why he cant let it happen. We can still hope tho. Dugg.
- ClunkClunk, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2Doctor Jones, Doctor Jones, meesa so worried about you!
- bjs3171, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2I hope so too.
- deaftly, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2I can't believe its not butter
- deadbaby, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2I hate sand. It's all grainy and smells like salt. I wish I could kill sand. Sand isn't soft. Sand killed my father erm... my mother. Can't forget about the virgin birth thing. Anyway yeah sand, it's no good.
- mmdieterich, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1I like the humor in the first three, like the overconfident swordsman, and Indy just pulls out his gun and shoots him, that was both hilarious and bad ass. I would expect it would be like that.
- BenKenobi88, on 03/18/2008, -2/+3Gotta love how he doesn't give a *****. He says, eh, it's about time for more Star Wars, and people probably would want the beginning of this series on the big-screen. Yeah, ok, maybe so, but you could at least act like you're putting any passion into the film, instead of just jump-starting a crappy TV run.
- blankoboy, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1With the live series, George, says that "everyone is dead or in hiding" at this time. Well, I don't think Darth Vader is in hiding and I want to see what he's up to between Ep 3 and 4. I don't want my last image of Vader to be "Nooooooooooooo!". What tragic ending to that character......25 years of Vader fanboyism down the toilet. =(
- ZulmericronX, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1I always knew he was sorta crazy, BUT when I saw him on a documentary on Episode 3 saying he doesn't shoot over and over until it's perfect, but essentially "shoots around a scene" and constructs it later... then I realized, he is CRAZY!
- ADA531, on 03/18/2008, -1/+2Well played. That is the WORST ever. You win.
- inactive, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1Jedi master?
Sorry, but after Attack of the clones and the "special" (and by "special", yes, I mean retarded) versions of Episodes four, five, and six they took away his light saber for his own safety and returned him to "training"........ - Daz3, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1In retrospect, yes. But I really like the idea of episodes I II and III being about Anakin's downward arc and episodes IV V and VI being about Luke's upward arc. The only problem is that the downward arc wasn't pulled off very well and so we didn't get the same rapport that we built with Luke in the original three - Anakin's character just never seemed to be given any great depth.
- gothicform, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1It's worse than a trap then, its a never ending trap!
- Deaconstructed, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1Thanks for submitting this :D I love GL.
- Deaconstructed, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1That No was very poorly done :( I can't believe they didn't redo it... I'm sorry I could've been the *bitchboy* around and I would've told GL honestly it's no good, and then he'd probably fire me lol. OR he may have heard me out and the icon would be untarnished...
- kingUssop, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1I kind of liked that interview, he seems to be coming down to Earth a bit... Then again I'm not a Star Wars fan deeply concerned about how else he can ruin it.
- roflomg, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1The Star Wars universeshould be left alone. Don't expand on it and make it worse than it's become!
The last thing I (and hopefully others) want is for it to be turned into garbage like Star Trek with endless tv series, animated crap, etc. - louiebaur, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1I liked R2D2 the best keep it going George!
- ADA531, on 03/18/2008, -2/+3That idea just makes too much sense. Those movies would be the greatest. I just don't know who could play Thrawn as I have imagined him, though.
- animus, on 03/18/2008, -1/+1"You know, [the Clone Wars movie] was almost an afterthought —"
- banmaster, on 03/18/2008, -1/+1You should be.
- k9unit, on 03/18/2008, -0/+0lol
- commieboy, on 03/18/2008, -0/+0I see what you did there...
- piratearggghhh, on 03/18/2008, -2/+2Lucas is a one-trick pony. I don't even give him much credit for Indiana Jones, which was mostly Speilberg's work. Plus my two fav Star Wars episodes (Empire and Return) weren't even directed by him. He's marketed the hell out of Star Wars - re releasing the movie, DVDs, buncha crap toys etc.
- funkyp56, on 03/18/2008, -1/+1I cant believe they did not as about blu ray star wars I-VI!!??!!!
- cheeseron, on 03/18/2008, -2/+2god dammit
- me1.0, on 03/18/2008, -2/+2That last bit about Indiana Jones worries me. He claims that this one is funnier. I think he tried this with ep I-III and we all know how that turned out.
- ADA531, on 03/18/2008, -1/+1I am still the student. Someday, I will become the master.
- inactive, on 03/18/2008, -1/+0Note to Lucas: F-14's are retired....
- Incognito2008, on 03/18/2008, -4/+3Star Wars should have been just the three original movies and thats it.
- karipatila, on 03/18/2008, -2/+1This is the second war in a short while that just doesn't seem to be 'forever the right decision'.
- phrenzy, on 03/18/2008, -3/+2George Lucas, if he were alive today, and the reason I say "if he were alive today" is that there is a time period between when I post this, and when it actually gets read. So, by now, George Lucas, god forbid, could have DIED. He could have died violently. So, then you'd be reading this and going "I don't understand this, he's talking about George Lucas? But, George Lucas was ripped apart by coyotes. Doesn't he know this? Didn't he get the paper that George Lucas was leaving his house a pack of coyotes just savagely ripped him apart, and ate him and he stayed alive for 10 hours as the coyotes were eating him?"
- heartcoldfusion, on 03/18/2008, -2/+1I'm surprised you didn't throw a Chuck Norris or realultimatepower joke in there for good measure.
