- whiteknives, on 07/15/2008, -1/+23Balls!
- maxwashere, on 07/15/2008, -0/+16I'm buying the iTunes season pass. All 3 acts for 4 bucks. I'm gonna wanna rewatch this after they take it down.
- pabloD, on 07/15/2008, -3/+18Shiny! Hopefully this will be a wedge tip of a large torrent (no pun intended, but BT FTW anyway) of content from producers who traditionally stick with the big studios, but have realized that they can go their own way.
And yeah, it's good! Can't wait for the next two eps. - Essefgy, on 07/15/2008, -0/+12Jeez.
The Internet achieved greatness last night and it only gets a hundred sixty digs? - enronias, on 07/15/2008, -0/+9Simply amazing, can't wait for the rest (Fillion + NPH ftw)
- Fazaman, on 07/15/2008, -0/+9Fantastic stuff. I can't recommend it enough, even to people who might not like Joss' stuff. Go watch now!
- MSF2, on 07/15/2008, -0/+9LA Times has a great write up on it, it looks like so far Dr. H is a huge success!
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/webscout/2008/07/j ... - Lollerskater, on 07/15/2008, -0/+8A paid download should be available shortly after all acts have been published. There's your torrent for ya!
Or hold out for the DVD to be released. Please, consider supporting the artists and crew using either method. - Philbert, on 07/16/2008, -0/+8Check out the upper left corner in the beginning. Firefly class vessel spotted!
- MSF2, on 07/15/2008, -0/+8Hopefully there won't be a torrent of piracy (pun intended) since the whole point is this has to make money for people to realize they don't need the big studios. On a related note, it's on iTunes now. Just saying.
Seriously though, if this makes money I suspect that other writers fed up with the way Hollywood is working (or not working) will start doing this kind of thing too. - Lollerskater, on 07/15/2008, -0/+7The streams have just been updated for international viewers. Try it again!
- okelay, on 07/15/2008, -0/+7I love joss and all his work and I expected this to be amazing and it surprised me how awesome it is. so much better than expected.absolute must-watch
- Tal71, on 07/15/2008, -0/+7Just a note to say that the website is expected to be back up in an hour or so, you can buy from iTunes if you're impatient - It's definately worth it! You can also keep an eye on the official fan site for info until the main site comes back up www.doctorhorrible.net
- pathrw, on 07/15/2008, -2/+8Horrible Van Remote.
- tarasis, on 07/15/2008, -0/+6Though it was Fabulous. Go Joss and co, hopefully this can show others that its possible. Plus that the coming DVD sells well (can't wait till hear the musical commentary (i.e commentary in song form))
- roniabirk, on 07/15/2008, -0/+6Just bought the season pass on iTunes so I can watch episodes II and III as soon as they are available. I don't think I've laughed so hard in a good long while.
=) - moocow1452, on 07/16/2008, -0/+6On an iPod Touch no less. For a supervillian, he knows his stuff.
- brianpeiris, on 07/15/2008, -0/+6From the Master Plan FAQs:
http://drhorrible.com/plan.html
"Joss, you are so kind, and generous, and your forehead is like, huge, like SCARY, like I think I can see Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint hanging off it… what can WE do to help this musical extravanganza?
What you always do, peeps! What you’re already doing. Spread the word. Rock some banners, widgets, diggs… let people know who wouldn’t ordinarily know. It wouldn’t hurt if this really was an event. Good for the business, good for the community – communitIES: Hollywood, internet, artists around the world, comic-book fans, musical fans (and even the rather vocal community of people who hate both but will still dig on this). Proving we can turn Dr Horrible into a viable economic proposition as well as an awesome goof will only inspire more people to lay themselves out in the same way. It’s time for the dissemination of the artistic process. Create more for less. You are the ones that can make that happen.
Wow. I had no idea how important you guys were. I’m a little afraid of you." - doublethink84, on 07/15/2008, -0/+6 Joss Whedon is my master now.
Seriously.
There's a shrine. - variablek, on 07/16/2008, -0/+6I hope this takes off, it would be a nice "f– you" to corporately run network television.
- roniabirk, on 07/15/2008, -0/+6Agreed x 100.
1. It's awesome.
2. It's free right now.
3. They worked hard on getting this out to the fans (for free).
4. Even when it's no longer free, it isn't costly.
5. Oh, and it's awesome. - WolfeatingRaven, on 07/16/2008, -0/+5@Philbert - haha didn't notice that, great spot.
Its quite good, i hope its successful cause this might help other producers create content for the web too. - Tal71, on 07/15/2008, -0/+5Just remember to visit the official site later - which should be working for most people by now - it's moved to a new server so the DNS has catch up
- MSF2, on 07/15/2008, -0/+4Just posted at twitter.com/drhorrible: "Working on international...hang in there."
- Cyzor, on 07/15/2008, -0/+4Works here in the Netherlands... (streaming version not iTunes)
- aranyx, on 07/15/2008, -1/+5http://www.drhorrible.com.nyud.net/act_I.html
It looks like Coral Cache got it. - wlasher, on 07/15/2008, -0/+4Very nice Very nice
- MSF2, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4Digg is kinda screwed up, it doesn't take a genus to figure that out.
I've been here a while and I've witnessed the decline first hand. First I heard about them burying stories and banning people for no reason, then I saw it myself. And by that I mean I was banned with no explanation. Ever. Despite emails asking why. Anyway I just got a new account and started posting as I always did, but that's not the point. I've seen a once great site fall. Unfortunately reddit isn't that much better, but at least they don't bury their own stories or ban loyal users so that's a plus. - Hidama, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4Moist... now that's an awkward introduction.
Beautifully done! I love it! - discordia7, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4Awesome! Even better than I expected, which is saying something!
- Tal71, on 07/16/2008, -1/+5There's no Serenity that I can see - just pots and pans hanging up.
Digg is biased - they blocked this thread, that's why it hasn't gone popular - it was removed from "upcoming" very shortly (if not immediately) after it was posted - chaser324, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4Awesome! I really hope this is successful. Felicia Day is really damn cute. Her first little web show about her WoW guild called appropriately "The Guild" was great. If you haven't already seen it check it out at http://www.watchtheguild.com/
As a side note: what the hell Digg? I dugg this last night when it was in upcoming and it had 270+ diggs then. I expected to see it on the front page this morning, but much to my surprise it was completely gone...no longer even in the upcoming video section. The "digg algorithm" needs some work!! - zaklampert, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4I really think (and hope) that this is the future of entertainment. A full episode shot for around $150k and released online for free (unless you pay $4 in itunes). This is some funny stuff, wonderful satire.
- chaser324, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4More evidence that Digg is broken. Another topic about Dr. Horrible that was posted two weeks ago that has nearly 1000 diggs that was never made popular:
http://digg.com/television/Official_Website_for_Dr ... - Heroscribe, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3What a great project! Thanks Joss!
- careyt, on 07/15/2008, -1/+4arg... why wont it work!!!! *slams head on keyboard* I want to watch, but it's not working. http://twitter.com/drhorrible says the site crashed. poo.
- supernuke, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2So very good. Can't wait for the next installment tomorrow!
- scottieseattle, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2I ran to Digg to post this. Obviously I was beaten to the punch. Very funny - like laugh out loud funny. If you're a fan of Josh Whedon, Buffy's "musical episode", Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, or Felicia Day you HAVE to see this. A musical mini-series starring a Super Villain? About time! I can't wait for the DVD.
- doublethink84, on 07/19/2008, -0/+1Josh Whedon?
Errr....no. - Drevor, on 07/16/2008, -2/+2I thought the same thing for a second, unfortunately its just a bunch of pans.
- betheturtle, on 07/16/2008, -2/+1We're all genuses... except you.
- fookhar, on 07/15/2008, -8/+2US Only, for ***** sake.
