- mikesly, on 11/11/2009, -43/+383Joss Whedon never go back to FOX again, they are a bunch of ***** idiots!
- JamusDeMonstar, on 11/12/2009, -6/+314its gonna be replaced by another Seth Macfarlane show
- marcduke, on 11/11/2009, -12/+284Sorry about your luck Dollhouse fans, but at least now he's got time to write some more Firefly related material - get on it, Joss!
- rafe101, on 11/12/2009, -1/+174"'Dollhouse' stars Eliza Dushku as a DNA-altered woman who gets implanted false memories for various missions and tasks."
Wow, factually incorrect and butchered grammar in one sentence. Good job guys. - Xaevier, on 11/12/2009, -39/+188Can be bring Sarah Connor back now?
- RobotBuddha, on 11/12/2009, -40/+188I think they were pretty smart here. It was an expensive, mediocre, show with bad ratings.
- tvstrips, on 11/11/2009, -5/+114And more time for a Dr. Horrible's sequel :)
- daviz0, on 11/12/2009, -13/+115ah dollhouse, you're no firefly but you were entertaining enough.
- Praseodymium, on 11/11/2009, -10/+108Serves him right for going to Fox again. Maybe he will learn and find someone who will actually give his shows a chance and not place them at graveyard Friday all the time.
- myFriendDerrik, on 11/12/2009, -6/+102obligatory BRING BACK FIREFLY!
- Favreism, on 11/12/2009, -22/+115Dugg for saying the unpopular truth
- Tyrghast, on 11/12/2009, -30/+110Mediocre describes Dollhouse perfectly. It should have been canceled a long time ago.
And Whedon will most likely go back to Fox for his next show. Fox is the abusive husband but Whedon loves him anyway. - ClarkNoHeart, on 11/12/2009, -2/+79If someone from Fox sees this comment, they're going to think all the people digging it up means that we want another Seth MacFarlane show.
- Khirzask, on 11/12/2009, -11/+85Sad news, I for one liked Dollhouse...
- Orbital101, on 11/12/2009, -1/+68Here's the thing: Fox doesn't care if it's Joss Whedon. Fox doesn't care if it's a good show. Fox doesn't care if it's better than other shows. Fox doesn't care if it's worse than other shows. Fox doesn't care who's in it, who writes it, who the fans are, what could have been done to make it better, what was done to make it better or how everyone feels now that it's gone. They do not care. They don't even think about that stuff.
Here's what they think about: Are enough people watching this show to justify charging enough for commercial time in order to make a profit. If the answer is yes, the show stays on air. If it's no, it doesn't. If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at those people who didn't watch the show. Fox can't *make* them watch it.
As a footnote: Those of you who think that Fox set out to purposely make Dollhouse fail are woefully misinformed about how hard it is to get a show on in the first place and how much money they lose when it flops. Nobody at Fox is gonna kill a show on purpose. They'd never work in TV again if they did. - JediPilot, on 11/12/2009, -6/+72Another vote for TSCC from me!
- dweeb79, on 11/12/2009, -20/+81The show was never that good, it was always about what it could be instead of what it was. What it was, was a bad show, that had a card board cut out FBI agent (Penikett) and a stupid doll played by Dushku who always looked confused. They really dropped the ball, and frankly I'm happy this rollercoaster of "that was a good episode", followed by weeks of "why am I wasting my time on this" is finally coming to an end.
- Natendo64, on 11/12/2009, -16/+77THANK. GOD. Now can we please get The Terminator back yet Fox? No? Well ***** you!
- Protonz, on 11/12/2009, -27/+85It did suck, and I watched every episode out of some misguided Firefly loyalty.
The only episode that had any redeeming quality was the unaired zombie type episode from season one.
Stupid dollhouse. - RuleNo2, on 11/12/2009, -4/+52And nobody was surprised.
- rexxdart, on 11/12/2009, -2/+42Vader is Luke's father

Jesus comes back
/spoiler - darthsand, on 11/11/2009, -19/+58Nooooo. Hopefully now you can make good TV shows without eliza dushku
- dan1101, on 11/12/2009, -4/+43Am I wrong or did they only show a couple episodes this season, and then put it off showing more episodes until December? I knew they were going to cancel it after they did that. You know, because it hasn't been getting good ratings because it HASN'T BEEN ON!
They did the same thing to King of the Hill, football kept pre-empting it and finally Fox canceled it. - litolist, on 11/12/2009, -2/+41If you haven't seen it yet, that's not his problem.
- CkMaverick, on 11/12/2009, -4/+42He should have a permanent contract with Summer Glau for all awkward leading female roles.
- darkheartlor, on 11/12/2009, -25/+61I hate dollhouse. I was a big fan of Firefly, but Dollhouse was just boring. I could never get into it. I can't believe they canceled Terminator to keep this show on.
- CkMaverick, on 11/12/2009, -1/+36The movie was designed to put a cap on it all. He killed off a few members of the cast, the two budding romances essentially came into fruition, and they dealt a major blow to the Alliance while uncovering the reavers. Sure they can expand on it some with the remaining cast, but it is also a nice place to leave it if they wanted to. Too much time has passed as well, would be a setup for disaster to have the cast continue on from that point.
- sajuuk, on 11/12/2009, -8/+40Not surprised at all. Major networks only want to run crappy reality TV and poorly written sitcoms now. And for the love of god, don't reboot Terminator. Terminator without Arnold isn't Terminator.
I want to see a Dr. Horrible series! - skull24, on 11/12/2009, -5/+34Bring back Sarah Connor Chronicles!!!
- eadnams, on 11/12/2009, -2/+30What really bugs me is that FOX has pretty good creative and show runners, and horrible programming managers and marketing. This combination makes for good shows never getting a chance.
- fxu1989, on 11/12/2009, -2/+30Snape kills Dumbledore
- MikeOxbigg, on 11/12/2009, -12/+39People need to get off FOX's ass. It is NOT a network's job to keep on a show that only costs them money without giving any return! They gave the show chance and chance again; it was a dude.
I love Whedon but goddamn get your heads outta your asses. - Robustica, on 11/11/2009, -8/+35Oh, damn...
- sweet8, on 11/12/2009, -11/+35Joss, time to get with Friedman and reboot Terminator.
- captspaulding, on 11/12/2009, -6/+30I think the shows name was the biggest problem. Dollhouse?! Really? They should have called it "Attractive women in tight fitting clothes."
- DivisibleByZero, on 11/12/2009, -0/+24Why does Whedon even rely on Fox for shows like this? Just lower the budget a little bit (there's not a lot of special effects or anything), and distribute it straight to the Internet.
- centran, on 11/12/2009, -1/+25Whedon is the idiot for going back to FOX.
He thought he was being smart by selling them sex appeal. That is not the problem with Whedon shows.
The problem with Whedon shows is that they are episodic shows. Plots and smaller side stories take multiple episodes. The initial character development takes many episodes. If someone doesn't view the show from the beginning it is very hard for them to jump right in.
Shows like that typically fail on the big four networks. ABC has had better luck then the others with episodic shows, but they would never air something like the Dollhouse.
His best bet is to go to the CW or go cable. If he doesn't go too "dark" with his next show idea then USA would probably be interested. I would also say Syfy but I feel their longevity is in question with recent choices they have made. - cathead, on 11/12/2009, -17/+40FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
- wilf_brim, on 11/12/2009, -0/+23I think that Wheadon has gone on record as saying that he isn't going to do any more work in the 'Verse. Much to our collective disappointment.
- Leezus, on 11/12/2009, -3/+25Yeah, I'm actually kinda glad it's cancelled. I like the show. It was enjoyable and all, and I was looking forward to where it would go, but, now that it's cancelled, Whedon can go on to do something better.
And Mike, Fox will never live down what they did to Firefly. Never. - allisonaxe, on 11/12/2009, -3/+25dude, there is no such thing as friday night competition. people don't watch as much on friday because they go out after a long week. Friday is a death slot.
- mlw4428, on 11/12/2009, -20/+42Eh, wasn't that great anyways. Terminator: TSC was at least 10x better.
- yosafbridge, on 11/12/2009, -1/+22Soylent Green is People...
Also...To Serve Man..it's a cookbook. - Chewie67, on 11/12/2009, -17/+37Agreed. The nerds watched to see the chick in skimpy outfits. Beyond that, there wasn't much substance.
I'm a huge fan of Science Fiction, but I gave up after struggling through Season 1.
Swing and a miss by Whedon. - specialK16, on 11/12/2009, -4/+24***** off, TSCC was actually good.
- Nothlit, on 11/12/2009, -0/+20The episode you're talking about ("Epitaph One") was not the unaired pilot. It was an extra episode produced for contractual reasons after the original pilot was scrapped. It was, in fact, intended to be the 13th episode of the season.
- notaku, on 11/12/2009, -0/+19that wasn't the pilot, it was the unaired final episode of season 1
- chockster, on 11/12/2009, -6/+25"it was a dude."
I think you mean it was a dud.
Never talk about Eliza Dushku that way again. - spookyttws, on 11/12/2009, -1/+19I LOVED the unaired episode and could really see where the show was going. They were just taking way to long on week to week episodes without addressing the over arcing story. I hoped season 2 would begin the movement toward the Tech Apocalypse, but they just keep on doing more of the same. I'm glad they're actually going to give it a proper finale. I hate it when shows like this just end without any closure.
