- ElGubrush, on 12/03/2008, -2/+27At first when they brought up Mumbai I was a little worried that it might dip into uncomfortable, but they really know how to put it.
You stay classy, Daily Show! - ani625, on 12/02/2008, -17/+40http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l144/aihyah/moti ...
- asunesara, on 12/03/2008, -7/+30These "Muslims" killed ANY random bystander. Some of the deceased were Muslim. I hate these untrue labels attached to these terrorists groups.
You know who hates "Muslim" terrorists more than the average person?...Muslims...they make our lives hell too.
Even if you were trying to be funny...that photo made me sad. - TheSarf, on 12/03/2008, -2/+22I'm sure you meant to say, "When will *****, giant *****, and terrorists go away?"
Right? - inactive, on 12/03/2008, -1/+17Surprise!
- woodyinthehoody, on 12/03/2008, -0/+14Who the ***** diggs up a stupid "echo" first comment?
- jessemoya, on 12/03/2008, -0/+12I worked for an English guy in the States when 9/11 happened. He was the only one that carried on with his day. A young, impressionable teenager at the time, I asked him why.
He said he'd grown up at a time when there were IRA bombings all the time, and that he was raised by folks from a generation that had survived Nazi carpet bombings in WWII. He said that it was a matter of point to not let the bombers ruin your life or else you're giving them more power.
It's my guess that this is why he was the one that did the story. - Thinkerofthings, on 12/03/2008, -1/+13That pretty much sums it up
- binchaud, on 12/03/2008, -2/+11Wow .. I actually applauded sitting at my computer.
- Stavrosian, on 12/03/2008, -2/+11I'm part of the rest of the world. It made me view you as a little bit more awesome than before.
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -1/+10I hear that's the terrorist group's actual name.

I love this show.
"Driving a bus into a Circus" - meghalc, on 12/03/2008, -1/+10Sorry to say, but there are ***** and Giant ***** all over the globe. :(

Hee - pushmouse, on 12/03/2008, -0/+7I think what those ***** ***** did was insensitive and rude.
- Cl1mh4224rd, on 12/03/2008, -2/+9> "I'm sorry, but this was a pretty lame piece. Come on Stewart, get funny again."
I'm sorry... How funny were you expecting a bit on terrorism to be? - spaceman84, on 12/03/2008, -0/+7Ah, that guy.
- sanman, on 12/03/2008, -0/+5Yeah, too bad more Muslims don't hate the Muslim activists who try to stoke up righteous anger against the non-Muslims.
It's their kind of propaganda that stirs up people from their community to go on shooting sprees. Maybe Muslim activists should remember that, and maybe the rest of the Muslims should remember that about Muslim activists. - samk, on 12/03/2008, -2/+6John Oliver was demoted to just "Correspondent"?
- HumanNouveau, on 12/03/2008, -1/+5Coundn't agree more. To be fair, radical Christianity wasn't much better historically. Mobilize a bunch of people around an idea and you can justify almost anything. Nothing wrong with heaping mockery on this branch of the Islamic faith. And it doesn't hurt to be mindful that Christianity and a long list of other religions can also mobilize people to support stupidity and hurt people.
- sanman, on 12/03/2008, -0/+4Well, this is why Muslims everywhere need to look at the homogeneity in Muslim majority countries, which keeps them far too closed to the outside world. Those who don't modernize beyond their traditions and insist on reflexively invoking civil rights to clutch onto every practice that keeps them apart from society, are naturally going to end up pitted against society. Although, at least the Amish are very strictly and explicitly non-violent. There's not even a tiny minority of militants among them, despite them keeping themselves firmly separate.

"No.... I'm not your monkey" - igneouz, on 12/03/2008, -1/+4Right!
- axelgrease, on 12/02/2008, -7/+10Thats not a descriptive enough title
- dafragsta, on 12/03/2008, -4/+7Even better was the MSNBC vs Fox News pairup. It's scary how much MSNBC stole Fox's playbook on how to cater to the ultra extreme.
- johnnr2, on 12/03/2008, -2/+5Concise, insightful analysis like only TDS can provide.
- bender240, on 12/03/2008, -0/+3I wish the terrorists were as ineffective as this clip insinuates... but as India assesses the damage, their central bank considers cutting rates further and sooner than expected to offset the cost to their financial hub, tourism, etc., and Western powers stand united and ready to rattle their sabres or escalate attacks across from the border with Afghanistan or elsewhere, all of which might bring about the "end times" I suspect those almond eating, cocaine snorting, blackberry/google earth using motherf**kers so desperately want, I fear this is not the case.
- igneouz, on 12/03/2008, -1/+4ill digg it, just because i dont live in the us
- DrummerAndrew, on 12/03/2008, -3/+6John Oliver seemed pretty authentically passionate about this story. Do you think the ties between England and India have hit him close to home so he feels more involved with the story? Britain is the reason so many Indians speak English, after all, right?
- HeavensNight, on 12/03/2008, -1/+3i agree about cutting out the audience part because this being a Mumbai piece deserves more respect then some goons in the audience ***** laughing like its all entertainment , but the show itself was just giving these ***** the finger in the daliy show way.
- Gareth321, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2I'm part of the rest of the world and I like you more now.
- tyler9090, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2your face isn't a descriptive enough title!
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -4/+6I'm all for making fun of tragedies. I consider 9/11 a laugh riot.
But in general, doesn't the Daily Show attempt to NOT be as much of an ***** as I am? I just consider it an odd double standard that when bad ***** happens in India they'll jump on the obvious comedic value whereas they tend to hold a supposedly "higher" standard in the face of other tragedies. I wouldn't care if they were indiscriminate about this kind of comedy. Where are the Natalee Holloway jokes I ask you? WHERE ARE THEY?!
I just find this kind of annoying. Maybe it's just me. - GUTTS, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2That guy with his mougth open seems to have watched a lot of Bruce Lee movies. whaaaaaachoooaiaiaiaihahahahaheeeehhhhhhh!!
- Archer007, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1*wiggles nose*
- theartfuldodgr, on 12/05/2008, -0/+1I think the audience laughing was the best part of the video. Shows these ***** doing stuff like this that we are laughing at them because we aren't going to live in fear of them.
- future15tbd, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1Nicely said, Mr. Oliver. Too bad it needed to be bleeped!
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1Funny thing is that you can say the same of how the US spreads "democracy" around the world.
- GUTTS, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1Yeah but I think we're talkling about the ones that go BOOM!
- Gareth321, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1This man touched wood.
- jessemoya, on 12/03/2008, -1/+2I disagree. I think they paid it due reverence and really stuck to the point that this was a horrible event. It was fitting that they used the English guy to make the point that we (well, THEY, but really anyone) can't let terrorists run our lives.
And really, it's only funny because it's true. No matter who was responsible, there is still one thing clear about them... - Waskonator, on 12/03/2008, -1/+1Shoot THIS *****!
