- inactive, on 09/26/2008, -0/+13It's so true, has anyone ever noticed that when the news covers foreign affairs, they always have on a pretty middle eastern girl with light skin that has a tad bit of an English accent? Or if it has to do with "community" affairs, it's usually a black person. And don't forget the economy, always some douche bag white guy in a tie. The young seasoned white guy covers football, while the black guy covers baseball and basketball.
The news system has literally become a science. They make so much revenue during the political season, they HAVE to balance out each candidate so they make America feel like the race is "tight."
"So today, John McCain said "***** cats, they're lazy." But... does Barack Obama believe that laziness is also a trait of the American people? We'll give you the answer at 11." And then they never give the answer, they bring on some "professional" consultants, who probably get their opinions from the internet, to come on and debate for a "generous" 3 minutes, and they cut them off right when some great point is about to be made.
John Stewart put it beautifully when he said, "News companies like CNN, MSNBC and Faux news make America feel like there is always an impending DOOM looming in the world, and that at any moment during their 24/7 coverage, something could happen."
He is so correct - too much information breeds mis-information. Huge companies with money and a stake in a campaign also breed misinformation. - radioactivekt81, on 09/26/2008, -0/+12Hilarious! I remember watching Aasif the first time he came on air with the Daily Show - he kept stumbling and messing up his lines. But now, I must say he's come a long way and is pretty damn good.
