- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+34She already has a television show that was being produces before Steve died. It's not exploiting or in bad taste. They are just continuing with their lives.
- sirsquirrelly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29Am I the only one who thinks it's wrong to even think like that?? She's 8 people.
- kolop1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29 She's 8 people? I thought she was 1 person.
- Kahnza, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Go Bindi!
- decades, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Just think mate, if it'd had to be you or Steve that were killed by the stingray, what would have been the bigger loss?
- Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18"Is this REALLY in good taste for an 8 year old whose father JUST died a few months ago? Seems a little too soon."
Why don't you let Bindi and Terri decide instead of yourself? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Do you think the increase of advertising is due to the large cost for the facility combined with the decrease of advertising revenue for the television series? They are trying to keep as much afloat as possible.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Onya!
- bram, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8That is true. He was getting footage for her show when he died.
- dacheetah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Only three paragraphs?
Also, really old news, she's been working on her own series for a long time now. Her dad died filming footage for her series. Anyone who didn't know about it, must have been living under a rock during the period that Steve Irwin's death was front page news. - Cerebral, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8From what I heard Steve was shooting a scene for her about stingrays when the accident happened. Is that not the case?
- AZTriGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I'll tell you, if it was my dad who died while getting footage for a show that I was going to be hosting, you damn right I'd keep going. I can't wait to see how she keeps the legacy going, Terri must be very proud.
- foxymcfox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This has been in the works. In fact, Steve was actually filming a segment about stingrays for his daughter, during some of his down time, when he was struck by the barb barb. I just hope no one told his daughter that. Imagine the guilt she would live with if she knew that her father died trying to do her a favor.
I get the feeling that the Irwin family is of the variety that mourns by doing things, o expect to see more of them in the near future. They experienced a great tragedy, and only tons of work will help to bury that. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Sure it will be syndicated, but that doesn't mean that they will gain the same advertising dollar for it. Re-runs generally don't.
Again, she is doing what she should be doing: not dwelling on what happened, but adjusting as much as possible.
Perhaps rather than putting down a family that does so much for conservation and the environment you could try supporting them and lifting them up. - kevsedg, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7That shouldn't have made me laugh quite as much as it did.
- Ninjab3ar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The show began filming while Steve was alive, and the article says that he will appear on a few episodes that were filmed before his death.
RTFA - ramiro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The number of moronic comments on this digg seems to be growing exponentially.
- ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you were in 1st grade as an 8 year old, school is definitely the place you should have been.
By the by, kids have 3 months off during the summer. That's 90 days of film time to get 30 minutes of footage per show. - LordLucless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Unless she's blind and deaf, she knows. It's not like it's been headline news for a month or anything.
- Amebic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I was going to reply politely to the first person that thought this was a bit exploitative (stating that this series was already shot and just waiting for final touches - the title is misleading) but now i'm just annoyed at the number of people spouting the same thing.
FFS, read the article! - LiveDirect, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5I'm totally in support of the Bindi-carrying-on-her-father's-legacy idea, but must she be forced into TV right now? Wait until she's older and knows what she wants!
- djskitzy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Good on her... She's a very confident little girl. I hope she keeps the spirit she seems to have at this point in her life, forever, and uses it to it's fullest extent. The world needs more kids with her attitude.
- LordLucless, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4"Am I the only one who thinks it's wrong to even think like that?? She's 8 people."
Don't worry, so was the original poster. - ineser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0go irwin family!!
- saladin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Let's turn this into a Bush bashing or pro Islamic topic like everything else on this site. LOL
- CrimsonAvenger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0LOL
- Tayuke, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3This show has been in the making for months now...and now you Americans are finally realized that, even when Steve was killed while filming for the show itself. Its been on the Australian Headlines even before Steve was killed....
- EruLabs, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2"SO...we know the next Erwin that will die."
Holy Crap! Youre so brutal!
Haha, what a funny thread. Anyhow, no matter what happend to who, 8 year old girls shouldnt be producing/starring in their own TV shows... ever heard of 1st grade? I was buzy as hell walking my ass to school and back and trying to blow up parts of my back yeard when I was 8. Let the girl use her millions when she grows up and make a TV show... eight is really young. It is cool she wants to make her dad happy.
"Am I the only one who thinks it's wrong to even think like that?? She's 8 people"
"She's 8 people? I thought she was 1 person."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I laughed for lke 15 min on that one - VinceNoir, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Oh... THAT kind of shooting. At first I thought maybe she lost her mind and shot up a TV show kind of in a Columbine-like rage.
- Tayuke, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1No offense to USA, or any other country for this matter, but just wondering...why have has the world just realized this NOW. i thought everyone was told, that Steve was filming for his daughters show. it was all over ours, why not yours
..or is it now emerged, that some reports in the world didn't tell you the whole story. I remember this death being a major headache for all the news websites in Australia...there's even a digg article here somewhere about all the news webistes crashing under the searchses on his death.
? - blackdevildog, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1SO...we know the next Erwin that will die.
- kolop1, on 10/12/2007, -16/+6Is she going to slap around wild life like her father?
- television, on 10/12/2007, -14/+2....people?
- wolfzero, on 10/12/2007, -25/+11Is this REALLY in good taste for an 8 year old whose father JUST died a few months ago? Seems a little too soon.
- nodream, on 10/12/2007, -22/+2This has a faint odor of exploitation...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -23/+1"Am I the only one who thinks it's wrong to even think like that?? She's 8 people."
Old enough to bleed, old enough to breed. Err...umm..nevermind. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -25/+1Steve Irwin style?
- Bigbro69, on 10/12/2007, -49/+2If that girl was older...
Damn. - dtfinch, on 10/12/2007, -69/+7The TV series will be shot in the chest.
