Confirmed: Star Wars Live Action TV Series Starts Shooting

fanboy.com — Over the last few hours I’ve been following rumors of a Star Wars live action television series which will be shot in Australia — well I’ve just confirmed from a source who has a friend that works at ILM that this rumor is in fact true!

    I don't think television is a lesser medium for the saga, and I'm hoping to see something in the vein of Farscape and Star Trek.
    I don't agree that he should let the series die, there is so much more story in the Star Wars universe that has yet to be told in film.

    God, everyone associated with that scene, even the cameramen, they all need swift and immediate execution.

It could be set in the time period from Episode IV to Episode VI (the time period that all Star Wars fans care about). 12 high quality hour-long episode per season. A fixed run of 5 seasons, so the writers could plan an overall story.

    That would be my dream.

They have been looking for writers for a couple years now. I suspect they already have them and have been in writers meetings for many months breaking the stories.

    Anyways I think this will be awesome. didn't like the prequels, but dammit this is Star Wars every week! With a focus on drama, and written by someone other than Lucas! Plus the budget! Holy crap this thing is going to be the best looking thing on TV ever.

    PS: Imagine if he hired the huge awesome nerd writers to do this show. I doubt he did as it seems like it's all Australian writers. But just imagine Whedon, Lindelof, and other Buffy, Battlestar, Lost writers. That would be amazing and would be a guaranteed hit. No matter what they are going to get ratings. HUGE ratings. But oh man I just get so excited to think about new blood (real fans) coming in to write this thing.

    The one thing I don't like about watching Clone Wars is that it's hard for me to hold much emotion for the drama knowing that the Clones become Stormtroopers and Anakin become Darth Vader. I'd like a story where I don't know the future already
