- benman587, on 01/07/2009, -4/+117Comedy Central Roasts became irrelevant when they roasted Flava Flav.
- freshyill, on 01/08/2009, -2/+96Please, please, please get David Cross.
See David Cross's Open Letter to Larry the Cable Guy: http://www.bobanddavid.com/2007/10/an_open_letter_ ... - ryan83189, on 01/08/2009, -1/+76I will have to watch, just to see if they bring up the fact that he is a fake red-neck or just perpetuate the act.
Exhibit A:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIWO5LgUZ28 - amoirae, on 01/08/2009, -5/+77***** the roast. Why don't they just execute him?
- Kavalier, on 01/07/2009, -6/+48I hate him so much. This should be fun.
- FishHammer, on 01/07/2009, -2/+39If they'd get some decent comedians for one of these I'd consider watching it. As it is their usual "d-list comedians bashing b-list celebrities poorly" routine is really getting old. If you want to watch real roasts youtube the old Don Rickles and friends roasts.
- binky79, on 01/08/2009, -0/+35Are they going to get a bunch of people who don't know him to call each other *****?
- EatingPaste, on 01/08/2009, -6/+36Pam Anderson had more comedic talent than that douchebag
- inactive, on 01/08/2009, -4/+31Larry the Cable Guy is a ***** *****. So are all his fans.
- omnithought, on 01/08/2009, -4/+30Are they really hurting this bad for material? Just line up Larry, Carlos Mencia, and Dane Cook and tie them to posts and let people punch them in the balls.
- jonesyno, on 01/08/2009, -1/+27Neither does Larry The Cable Guy.
We can digg-roast you, it would probably be more entertaining. . - theblueprint, on 01/08/2009, -1/+26I'd watch this, but anything short of extreme personal humiliation combined with career-ending vitriol would be ultimately unsatisfying.
Comedy Central should allow contributions via YouTube, like those CNN Presidential debates. - inactive, on 01/08/2009, -1/+24the bob saget roast was hilarious, i guess im gonna have to wait another year for a decent one.
- badwithcomputer, on 01/08/2009, -1/+22In a related story, local fisherman attempt to capture fish in a barrel.
- rknowles10, on 01/08/2009, -1/+21David Cross would never agree to take part in something that essentially glorifies and legitimizes Larry the Cable Guy. That would be the exact opposite of what he was going for in the excellent open letter.
- DarkerMaster, on 01/08/2009, -3/+22Sadly, I have nothing witty to say.
- stonebone4, on 01/08/2009, -2/+21The problem is that probably 95% of his fans don't realize that's not his real persona, nor does he do anything to drop hints to them about it. He likely knows that if they realize he's making fun of them his golden egg-***** goose is history since he doesn't seem to have any actual skill, so he's content to lead everyone to believe the whole act is real.
- serif69, on 01/08/2009, -0/+18I hope they get Jeff Ross to show up to tell all the same jokes he told at the roast of Socrates.
- zomgwaffles, on 01/08/2009, -0/+17Thanks for that link, hilarious burn
- WiretapStudios, on 01/08/2009, -0/+16Way to steal the joke, Mencia.
- IamNomad, on 01/07/2009, -8/+22in b4 get'r dun
- GhostFreeman, on 01/08/2009, -5/+18I am fully behind spinning off TDS and Colbert Report to their own channel at this point. Yes, Indecision TV.
- Radica1Faith, on 01/08/2009, -1/+14Yeah they are supposed to roast people that have had tremendous accomplishments in their lives. Its supposed to be a great honor to be Roasted. Flava Flav? Larry the Cable Guy? That's way too ***** easy, why even bother.
- WiretapStudios, on 01/08/2009, -2/+14Rooster, the difference Christian Bale doesn't walk around every day in the Batsuit telling people he is Batman...
- Rmo4, on 01/08/2009, -0/+12Woah, that just took things up a notch...
- protodon, on 01/08/2009, -2/+14can we actually roast him, like with fire, and be done with him?
- oldhick, on 01/08/2009, -0/+12Great letter! Thanks for posting a link to it.
- dsheinem, on 01/08/2009, -2/+11Cross is great: "You and Dane Cook ought to get together and have a "my-fan's-are- the-greatest-people-on-earth-and-that's-why-I-do-this" off. You could both sell a ***** load of merch too.
- Terrorific, on 01/08/2009, -1/+10wait....but this depends on the nature of the roast. I have a feeling that they're going to be roasting "Larry the Cable Guy" not the guy that plays him, so it'll just be a bunch of dumb redneck, buttcrack, farts, and screwin' yer cousin jokes. Now, if they roasted the real him...well....THAT's worth watching!
- souljaboytellem, on 01/08/2009, -1/+10Well your just about as useful as a monkey with a melon head
OMG, those are so easy to do, take two completly different things, add a country accent, and bam I am now a comedic legend - rknowles10, on 01/08/2009, -0/+9It's funny because David Cross is mocking Larry's lowest bar possible sense of humor.
It's not funny outside that context. - WiretapStudios, on 01/08/2009, -0/+9As a gay dude, you should really have higher standards.
- fosterGrin, on 01/08/2009, -0/+8Let me be the first to roast him: "Larry, your a racist douchebag."
That wasn't that funny. I'm not a comedian. - Fleagleman, on 01/08/2009, -0/+8A preview of the roast:
(random celebrity): "Larry, you're the worst comedian to ever go on stage. Your movies are horrible, and I have yet to laugh at anything you've done. I'm actually less intelligent than I used to be, having been exposed to your, I guess you would call, 'work'. You suck really bad."
"Now, who are we roasting?" - TheUngod, on 01/08/2009, -1/+8I hope David Cross gets his shot at him
- CaptainNoPants, on 01/08/2009, -0/+7Is it just me or does 90% of her material relate to the fact that she likes ***** black guys?
- ironhide, on 01/08/2009, -2/+9Is it too much to ask for that this roast involve a spit and a roaring fire?
- sillymeganlee, on 01/08/2009, -1/+8Then we won't have to hear him talk. I'm all for it.
- SugeKnight, on 01/08/2009, -0/+6I'm sure even Jeff Ross was pissed off once Comedy Central told him he was roasting Larry the Cable Guy.
- chanop, on 01/08/2009, -6/+12I got his book as an x-mas present a couple years ago. After the first chapter I had to throw it out. He is a right-wing, Bush loving douchebag. Half the chapter was about how Sadaam Hussein was responsible for 9/11. It made an Anne Coulter book look liberal.
- chthonical, on 01/08/2009, -0/+6@WiretapStudios: Unlike one former Catwoman.
- hoodoodave, on 01/08/2009, -3/+9Doesn't Larry do a pretty good job of making himself look like an idiot?
Regardless, I hope they skewer him. - PizzaEagle, on 01/08/2009, -0/+6Yeah, it was very Andy Kaufman-esque. I noticed all the comedians thought he was hilarious but some people in the audience were like WTF.
- MikalYungHistri, on 01/08/2009, -0/+6I really don't know any of Larry the Cable Guy's viewpoints so I am just talking out of my ass. But, he is a comedian. So.......maybe it was a joke?
- oxymoron69, on 01/08/2009, -1/+7Lisa Lampanelli is the reason I don't watch these things.
- inactive, on 01/08/2009, -0/+6Larry the Cable Guy?
What, Carrot Top declined? - RivenEmrys, on 01/08/2009, -1/+7In a more perfect world, he and Carlos Mencia would die in a plane crash together. Sadly, cockroaches can't die :(
- amoirae, on 01/08/2009, -0/+5I hope David Cross gets his shot at him with a high powered sniper rifle.
- roflbrothel, on 01/08/2009, -0/+5Buried for use of worse catchphrase ever.
- yerlordnsaveyer, on 01/08/2009, -0/+5Roast it with fire.
