Jon Heder needs to just disappear and Will Ferrell needs to change things up a little bit. I wonder if Ferrell will play the same character he has for just about every one of his popular movies.
It's amazing how much this guy has dropped off since SNL where he was clearly one of the better cast memebers (and I'd probably say the best). He comes off as a very smart person too in interviews too, so I'm guessing he probably realizes that his fame will die quickly and he might as well do movies that are actually funny when it does. - KurtangleTN, on 07/11/2009, -0/+1Musicians and actors are a apple and orange comparison. I think you are missing the point really. Musicians probably should stick to what they do best, or if they do change make small adjustments that most fans don't cry about (Flogging Molly is a perfect example with their recent album float). Actors on the other hand do change genres all the time, so an actor could go from a comedy to a drama (see Damon in the Departed vs say.. Ocean's series).
It's not even just my opinion that Ferrel isn't funny in the character he decides to play over and over. I loved Will Arnett, Cera, etc all in Arrested Development but since they've pretty much continued to play the same characters I don't see them really as funny in their movies.
You are basically saying "Why are you bitching he isn't original" in which case, I'll let you think about that for a bit.
Again another dumb comparison at the end... wow. I'm not asking him to change professions, I'm just asking for a little more substance then what he has offered so far, hell, maybe just a bit of a smarter comedy. Would I like to see Kojima try his luck at a different genre, sure.. It would be interesting. - TwistyMcFister, on 07/10/2009, -2/+3I would be surprised if they get past those 10 initial episodes. Everything Will Ferrell does is homogeneous to his other work which makes it boring. Adding Jon Heder will just make it that much worse.
