- teckjunkie, on 11/05/2009, -2/+99I hope they have the morning show skits. I haven't yet seen a "Today Now!" skit I haven't liked.
- horakhti, on 11/06/2009, -1/+73Seems silly to narrow The Onion down to just sports...
- jdeane, on 11/06/2009, -2/+52The Onion is one of those precious gems of comedy that I just don't want tarnished by a canceled Comedy Central series. Hopefully it goes well...
DRE-700 IS LEADER!
And who wasn't just a little suspicious of this being an Onion story? Admit it, you thought it. :P - SaladCactusKing, on 11/05/2009, -5/+49It better be uncensored TV-MA stuff.
- TobiasParker, on 11/06/2009, -0/+3711:00: Daily Show
11:30: Colbert
12:00: Onion...
could work. - AbadH, on 11/06/2009, -7/+40This may seem like a good idea but it actually isn't. I have seen The Onion movie and believe me, that was such a disappoitment. It was of the same quality of Date Movie which meant the movie was a total turd. I for one, do not welcome the Onion show.
- ShadySpace, on 11/06/2009, -1/+32Just sports? Lame.
- liquisoft, on 11/06/2009, -1/+32I hope this occupies the time slot currently used by The Jeff Dunham show.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 11/06/2009, -0/+25With the Daily Show and Colbert it already was.
- perre, on 11/06/2009, -0/+21Please don't put it between Stewart and Colbert!
- angrytortilla, on 11/06/2009, -3/+22I'm Julianna McKannis filling in for Clifford Baines, who's vacuuming.
- Aneamic, on 11/06/2009, -3/+21Does this rank comedy central as a more credible news source than fox news?
- Dr3w, on 11/06/2009, -0/+18I know this has been lamented about already in previous posts, but WHY THE ***** ARE THEY JUST FOCUSING ON SPORTS?! Their "fake news" fits in perfectly with what Stewart/Colbert are doing, and they would make for a perfect news triumvirate -- Stewart = network world news, Colbert = cable editorial news, and Onion could = something 60 Minutes-esque. The fact that whoever is in charge of this is focusing exclusively on sports reeks to me of another bomb like Mencia, AtomTV, and that weird new ***** puppet show.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 11/06/2009, -1/+19FINALLY Comedy Central does something RIGHT.
Jesus, after Carlos Mencia, Tosh.0, Secret Girlfriend, and Jeff Dunham I thought they were just a on a perpetual downward spiral of ***** decisions. I was practically waiting for them to cancel the Daily Show or something. - SpeedSteamBoat, on 11/06/2009, -2/+20Holy *****, you seriously put The Onion Movie on the same level DATE MOVIE?
You are out of your ***** mind. There's were great moments in there. It was packed with plenty of unconventional humor. That whole genera of comedy hasn't even really existed since the era of Monty Python and Airplane! And you compare it to a generic, totally uninspired piece of garbage like Date Movie?
Look at this:
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1155470-date_movie ...
You compare it to THAT!?
***** you, sir. ***** you. - SpeedSteamBoat, on 11/06/2009, -0/+16Mmmm, fallacy of False Alternatives.
I know it's WRONG but it feels so RIGHT! - Grumpymonk, on 11/06/2009, -0/+15Whoa whoa whoa! You think i want money? You think that's what this is about? A big angry black man comes in walking in waving a gun and you assume he's robbing the place? im not looking for no goddamn handout! Im looking for a mother ***** job bitch!!!
- nitroburn, on 11/06/2009, -1/+14About time. I can't count now how many times I've fallen for a headline from an article at The Onion.
Wonder if this will result in even more of their stories being reported as real news. - zuion, on 11/06/2009, -0/+12"WILL" work =)
- Grumpymonk, on 11/06/2009, -1/+13Dude you are insane, that movie had some classic moments. Armed Gunman had me peein myself first time i saw that.
- tacojohn48, on 11/06/2009, -0/+11I once went to a church where the pastor was very much against Harry Potter. He decided to do a sermon about it and needed something upon which to base it. He found an article that perfectly fit what he believed. He read the article to the congregation as proof of how evil Harry Potter was. The article had quotes from the author and from school administrators and from satanists all praising the book and how it was turning children away from Christianity. He didn't cite his source, so when I got home I immediately scoured the internet to find the article. I searched for a phrase from the article "Jesus can suck the big greasy ***** of Satan" and found the article to be from the onion. I confronted the pastor about the legitimacy of the article and he was bewildered because those were quotes attributed to people and people can't just make up quotes and attribute them to people.
/I don't normally write this verbosely
//found a link that has the text http://www.thenoiseboard.com/lofiversion/index.php ... starts where it says Harry Potter books spark rise in satanism - Rkstar, on 11/06/2009, -0/+9Yeah, I'd much rather have a "morning show" than a sports show. The debating pundits are good as well.
- i23Photography, on 11/06/2009, -1/+10Skits within the show... Not when they plan to show it.
Get with the program here! - ClaireQuilty, on 11/06/2009, -0/+8You Will Suffer Humiliation When The Sports Team From My Area Defeats The Sports Team From Your Area
http://www.theonion.com/content/node/33426 - Salif, on 11/06/2009, -0/+8sure, why not? anything would be better than Secret Girlfriend or the Jeff Dunham show
- bulls414, on 11/06/2009, -1/+8just dont let it be like the Jeff Dunham show. that show is horrible.
- ConfusedCartman, on 11/06/2009, -0/+6...have you seen the ***** South Park gets away with? Trust me, if it made Comedy Central money, they'd find a way.
- HeDiggMe, on 11/06/2009, -6/+12This is the best news I've seen today. Full of awesome.
- yocouchdigga, on 11/06/2009, -0/+5They better be real delicate with this one, I heard from Herbert Kornfeld (may he RIP) that hardcore Onion fans ain't nothin' to ***** wit.
- Jhonka, on 11/06/2009, -0/+5I agree except for Tosh.0.
- fxu1989, on 11/06/2009, -2/+7Sorry :(
- rpgmakr, on 11/06/2009, -0/+5WIN.
- PhoebusAl, on 11/06/2009, -0/+4My sentiments exactly.
- phyx726, on 11/06/2009, -1/+5Don't get me wrong, I love the website, but if this show is anything like the movie they made it won't go far.
- enantiodromia, on 11/06/2009, -0/+3they didn't sell out, son... they bought in.
- gozu, on 11/06/2009, -0/+3This could be a great thing. A GREAT THING!
- whatthefu, on 11/06/2009, -0/+3If it's weekly and it could probably be decent.
- drex8, on 11/06/2009, -1/+4It's how an English Lord would say to another:
"Sire, with all due respect, ***** you!" - drex8, on 11/06/2009, -0/+3I. for one, welcome our new Onion Overlords.
- enantiodromia, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2Dugg for The Onion on TV.
Buried for being sports.
I just don't see those two interests intersecting well. - alexllanio, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2I wish it was uncensored =D Play it after 12, i'll still watch it!
- PlatinumOGKush, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2The Onion just doesn't do it for me, but apparently it's pretty popular. Great if you dig The Onion.
- flutezilla, on 11/06/2009, -2/+4I wonder if they'll write about this on TheOnion.com
But I don't know if I would believe it then - Grumpymonk, on 11/06/2009, -1/+3they should do a bit where glenn beck dies in a car crash with lots of fire and fat kids all around him lauuuughing.
- cuby, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2how could anyone digg you down for this? that movie was pathetic and borderline unwatchable, and the creators knew it. test audiences doomed it straight to dvd and rightfully so.
the onion is one of the funniest outfits in all of history, but that movie was just painful. - Azadude, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2It'll probably still keep you better informed than Fox News.
The Onion Forever!
(I'm Julianna McKannis, filling in for Clifford Baines who's staying off the grid until things cool off. =D) - jaycers, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2Hell yea. The Joe Biden pundit mob a couple of weeks ago was brilliant.
- DirtPile, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1Dugg for honesty.
- enantiodromia, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1thanks for sharing
