- digitalmoto, on 10/10/2007, -10/+412it could have been oh so much worse - it could have been Rosie O'Donnell
- RocketGib, on 10/10/2007, -4/+279"Welcome to the Price is Right, where the points don't matter!"
- MrZop, on 10/10/2007, -8/+232Ya know what, i don't see the problem. He's funny, professional, doesn't get too off the wall, has the same basic values and comedy as bob. I think it can work.
And no matter who takes the spot, nobody will ever live up to bob, so this whole "He's not good enough" thing is pointless. you can't replace bob, but at least know it's better than what could of been. - MicahC, on 10/10/2007, -3/+144If Drew starts filming the show this fall, he'll be the same age as Bob Barker when he started "The Price is Right." 49.
Not sure if Drew will live as long though. - Darqfaux, on 10/10/2007, -7/+99I think Drew Carey will not replace Bob Barker. But he will be a great "new" host for a great show.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -13/+88Drew Carey is awesome I think the show will never be the same but he did a great job with "Who's Line..." but we will just have to see.
- awhiteflame, on 10/10/2007, -1/+53I still want to see Christopher Walken play Plinko.
- vuke69, on 10/10/2007, -3/+49Drew Carey is awesome, but there is NO WAY IN HELL he will be getting nearly as much prize girl action as Bob did. Bob is my hero.
- esotericguy, on 10/10/2007, -3/+41i think i'd rather have Ryan Stiles, now he was funny!
- Aggort, on 10/10/2007, -9/+37just like the Dane Cook joke, every time I stayed home sick, I;d wake up and the PIR would be there... it was so very very therapeutic!
- jake86, on 10/10/2007, -1/+27He just has to spin the big wheel a lot.
- Reziarfg, on 10/10/2007, -4/+29Holy ***** *****. Did you just manage to bring up
-The future of the country
-The future of civilization/culture(Idiocracy)
-The presidential election
All on the premise of some guy recounting an old joke? Which btw I do believe was one of Dane Cook's original pieces. But I mean come on man. Go find a political forum or something to vent your opinions. - jake86, on 10/10/2007, -2/+24I hope Drew gets to use the old microphone that stretches to infinity.
- gregmo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+22find the fountain of youth then get back to us
- kensterdotnet, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15It's "it's"
- Elamen, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16wtf is an ealt
- crackedplastic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14You realize this is an AP article right? Guess not.
- 2oonhed, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15I thought it WAS Rosie with a new hair cut....then they said his name Drew.
- aaronm67, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12He also had a fairly successful one with Who's Line is it Anyway.
- wedwabbit, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Can someone give me a hint as to what the ***** is this guy talking about?
- orwellson, on 10/10/2007, -4/+15When I found out about Carey being tapped, I jumped for joy. Carey, through his manner and even his trademark look, is closest of those who were in the running in terms of evoking the same era of witty, genial host that Bob Barker rose out of. I think it's a great choice. Let's just hope there are no pricing games involoving improvisation.
- thesarlacc, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Could you also refuse to comment then?
- thelastknowngod, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12was bob barker funny? dont think so.
drew carey is just kinda awkward enough to make it work. theres no one else that i can think of that i could even start to believe as the host. this is a good choice. - philconow, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12Well if Drew sexually harasses them as much as Bob did, then maybe he will.
- anotherjeff, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11No.
- Elamen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9where do you live?
- parrotscience, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Hmm... frozen in time, much like Walt himself.
- almondfilter3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Makes sense, in terms of comedians (if you consider him one - I know he never made me laugh), Carey is one of the safer, non-risky choices you could make.
- jpop, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11Anyone would be better than tubgirl Rosie.
- mal1964, on 10/10/2007, -4/+12No it could have never been Rosie O'Donnell!
- vuke69, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9It's slang for a hand job (he's hitting on you.)
- jmeskimen, on 10/10/2007, -4/+12***** Rosie.... well, someone else can. I don't really want to touch her
- vaduzl, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10Home on sick day, I would love to see Drew. 30 years from now he would be beloved host
- oofgeg, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Drew Carrey does have a game show already that is premiering August, Power of 10.
- ostracize, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8We're going to take a thousand points, send them to Canada, and teach them how to rap.
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -1/+8No one? I do!
- rhabd0mancer, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Staying home pretending to be sick will never be the same again...
- Pauliver, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I am so frustrated that I opened the reply box to read that completely inane comment.
- snowpilot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6What the hell are you going to watch when you're home sick without The Price is Right? Soaps? Sorry I choose dignity and guessing the price of random products, automobiles, rv's, trips, while hoping for the wheel to dislocate and crush someone.
- imneveral0ne, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7im assuming you must be rosie o'donnel
- tennman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7How dare you talk about Mr. Barker like that. Your dirty old man is my ladies man.
- Theodorant, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6If you were smart enough to check the actual source, you'd see that this was taken off the AP wire.
- Subiklim, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Why? Who cares about legend when there's more money to be had, more people to entertain?
- gameforge, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Yeah, but what happens the next time she's accused of trying to eat an armed teenager or comes out against football or something? She can't ever do anything in life again unless her name is in the title because she's a PR anvil.
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8I like Drew... he has a really nice laugh. it makes me laugh even more when he laughs.
- jfmusic, on 10/10/2007, -20/+25Cleveland rocks!
- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -6/+11Rosie, no.
Ellen... well, she doesn't make me want to hurt her, so I she's okay. Plus she would have probably kept the Barker's Beauties since she's a lesbo. - reed311, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8Try saying that to someone's face. You'd go running like a College Republican being asked why he hasn't served in Iraq.
- Guspaz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Bob Barker wasn't even the first host of the show. Let's keep this in mind; he wasn't the first host, and he wasn't the last.
- orlyfactor, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4He just needs to cut down on the ribs IMO.
