- inactive, on 06/09/2009, -2/+204Hahah "No but my ears really are that big."
Epic. - kahoona1, on 06/09/2009, -2/+139It's pretty funny that Obama played along with the whole thing.
- blackhole37, on 06/09/2009, -1/+90I love stephen colbert
- ReluctantZer0, on 06/09/2009, -1/+83Epic win for the number one man behind truthiness
- daEvan, on 06/09/2009, -1/+75It's amazing how truly dedicated Colbert is to his character. This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
- EllisSpice, on 06/09/2009, -3/+62Dugg for Colbert AND Obama!
- biki73, on 06/09/2009, -1/+48americans: your new guy is way better than the old one.
- jeffstevens199, on 06/09/2009, -1/+47im soo glad he visited the troops.

- AndrewDB, on 06/09/2009, -0/+35I lost it at the "No, but my ears are really that big.."
I can still remember getting my hair cut in Basic Training... lmao.. - Tooley7, on 06/09/2009, -1/+35I was cracking up when Obama came on.
- inactive, on 06/09/2009, -0/+28me too.
and the man that shaved my head was not as gentle as that general.
i had a mole on my head i told him i had a mole on my head.
and guess what? he cut that sucker right off my head.
so i got stitches and yelled at for not "telling him harder" (exact words) about the mole. - Lostcause365, on 06/09/2009, -2/+29McCain in that episode was gold too... take care of your muskets!
- PhillyMJS, on 06/09/2009, -1/+24You know they're gonna criticize how Obama took time out to do something frivolous like that while we're in a recession, blah, blah, blah.
Anyone else still remember the photos of Bush looking under his desk and in other places, "I know those WMDs are around here somewhere"? Troops were dying in Iraq for his ***** war, and he was joking about the lies that got them there in the first place.
I think it's great that Obama took a little time out to help raise troop morale, since he inherited Bush's mess. - Grova, on 06/09/2009, -1/+22Watched last night and might have to catch the re-run tonight. Pretty frickin' awesome! His basic training skit was great as well.
- inactive, on 06/09/2009, -0/+18Actually, if I'm not mistaken it's a nod to the days when a standard bearer would carry the flag into battle. While charging, the flag would of course blow back in the wind, and so anyone to the right of the standard bearer would see the flag backwards. Thus, a flag patch on the right arm would be backwards to represent that effect of the flag blowing back in the wind.
EDIT: Okay, looks like I was repeatedly beaten to the punch. - EyeAreRandom, on 06/09/2009, -6/+23Damn I love your president!
- papastout, on 06/09/2009, -3/+20Top two stories on Digg right now:
Colbert Gets His Head Shaved in Iraq (Video)
Video: How to Clean a Skull (Hint: Flesh-Eating Beetles)
....excellent - http://www.jeremystout.com/content/uploads/2009/06 ... - teamgwho, on 06/09/2009, -1/+17could this be the greatest episode of TCR ever?
1) Colbert on location is always a good thing
2) helping support the troops and raising their moral? even better
3) awesomest. suit jacket. ever
4) having Obama on was a major coup
5) Obama with an amazing self depricating sense of humor? (my ears are that big) Even better
6) getting his head shaved?
this episode was the gift that kept on giving. - BenTheTank, on 06/09/2009, -0/+14Better than being repeatedly punched to the beat.
- cyrix, on 06/09/2009, -0/+14Wasn't expecting that at all. This whole episode was pure win.
- Prayformojo777, on 06/09/2009, -0/+14Yes, that was the joke.
- inactive, on 06/09/2009, -1/+15Oh man, not only was that totally awesome, and I love what Colbert is doing for the troops, but that whole episode just had me in stitches.
- PDAIsAOk, on 06/09/2009, -1/+15Finally someone willing to put his hair where his mouth is.
- bioviral, on 06/09/2009, -1/+14Greatly appreciated eh <3
- unradical, on 06/09/2009, -0/+13It gives the flag the impression as if it were being carried by a standard bearer marching forward and not in retreat.
- kaidovak, on 06/09/2009, -0/+12The stars always go into battle first, just as it would have back in the days when someone would actually carry the flag into battle.
I'm actually more confused by the camo flag coloration, as it would certainly constitute "subdued colors" which I thought was not allowed. - TruPhan, on 06/09/2009, -2/+14Colbert is doing a great thing for those troops. THAT'S how you earn the respect of our soldiers!
- kaidovak, on 06/09/2009, -0/+12He didn't lose comprehension, he lost his ability to not laugh.
(I'm assuming you're running into an issue with semantic ambiguity?) - shapiro500, on 06/09/2009, -1/+12If you're too lazy to watch the full episode:
http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/4066/image1vga.pn ... - KGtheway2B, on 06/09/2009, -0/+10Should have told him harder!
That's awesome. - an0nymous, on 06/09/2009, -0/+10Think Hannity would do this?
I'm guessing no. - Moosejoose, on 06/09/2009, -0/+9As soon as it ended there was a next video button that said new haircut after the commercial.
- victorycig, on 06/09/2009, -1/+10Solidarity comes in all shapes and hairdos.
- exgiexpcv, on 06/09/2009, -0/+9Damn, I'm so proud of everything I just saw in those videos! The troops looked happy, my president stuck his head in, and Stephen was gold! I really love that man, he actually cares about our troops!
- inactive, on 06/09/2009, -1/+7Well, that's easy. The rebuttal will be "Blah blah blah mockery of the armed forces yadda yadda yadda exploiting hardworking troops for ratings, what a disgrace this liberal traitor is for doing this, etc."
- Feener, on 06/09/2009, -1/+7Why do the uniforms have backwards, black and white flags? I would guess black and white aids camouflage, but why backwards?
- CVL4317, on 06/09/2009, -1/+6This video reminds me of CnC Tiberian Sun , Nod Campaign video which Kane's head appeared on the big screen.
- moshazu, on 06/10/2009, -0/+5really, how great is it for our president to give 3 minutes of his time for some humor? When was the last time was saw this? Great job Comedy Central and great job Obama!!
- bdfariello, on 06/09/2009, -0/+5On the plus side, free mole removal surgery.
- fragMasterFlash, on 06/09/2009, -4/+8I can't wait for the dittohead rebuttal. Maybe Limbaugh & friends will finally shave their *sses and start walking backwards.
- mauri824, on 06/09/2009, -1/+5http://www.hulu.com/watch/76566/the-colbert-report ...
watch the ending - BenTheTank, on 06/09/2009, -2/+6The flag on the right shoulder appears backwards so that it looks as if the flag is flying against a breeze.
- orangester, on 06/09/2009, -0/+3Does anyone else think he looks like the guy who plays David Wallace on The Office now? Either way, Colbert never ceases to amaze me, and that's a good thing.
- inactive, on 06/09/2009, -0/+3dugg for C&C and Kane
- falconear, on 06/10/2009, -0/+3Colbert is becoming one our great Satirists. I know he comes from the direction of his "character" being a right-wing nutjob, but he's starting to become an equal opportunity mocker on a level Jon Stewart (who I also like, but is a firmly entrenched liberal) could never reach.
Did anyone else thing the female soldier he interviewed last night needed to lighten up a little bit? - bloodhound01, on 06/09/2009, -3/+6Jon Stewart needs to follow suit!
- Cl1mh4224rd, on 06/09/2009, -0/+3> "Can American's and UK'ers see the 'Canadian' link too? Just curious."
Pennsylvania, USA here and... nope. I get "Sorry, the video you are trying to watch is not available in your region." - publiclurker, on 06/09/2009, -0/+3You would have to borrow a pair from a man first.
- alexra, on 06/09/2009, -0/+3funny episode, especially the part where obama says, yes I do have ears that big stephen. funny, and obama has seemed to age a lot since january, maybe its just the hair color.
