- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -11/+29People who believe in ghosts and goblins should not be allowed to carry a weapon, that simple.
- existentialduck, on 01/07/2009, -1/+16that's Bill Murray
- inactive, on 01/06/2009, -2/+14This wins my esteemed "Title of the Day" award.
- eatsushi, on 01/07/2009, -2/+13I can't wait until they reveal the corrupt paranormal Chicago cops.
- GreatSunJester, on 01/07/2009, -2/+13In related news, a new law firm (Spirit, Specter, and Haunt) has announced they are suing these cops and A&E network for metaphysical abuse on behalf of their clients. They plan on digging up enough victims to form a class action suit.
- kakwakas, on 01/07/2009, -1/+10I think you accidentally a verb.
- bryson430, on 01/07/2009, -2/+11Exactly what we need: yet more terrible cable TV. Woo.
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -1/+9The only thing worse than an "unscripted" reality TV show is one where all they do is chase after infrared hand prints and spooky sounds. Id like to see an ET reality TV show where chartered accountants moonlight as alien chasers who stare at the night sky in exotic locations baiting themselves to be anal probed.
- aptanalogy, on 01/07/2009, -2/+10What those people have is a fantasy, one to which ghost hunters unfortunately caters, unfortunately.
- masterkenobi, on 01/07/2009, -0/+7If there's a steady paycheck in it, I'll believe anything you say.
- Bloodwine, on 01/07/2009, -1/+7Maybe they'll find where all the dead voters are hanging out.
- sauceantilles, on 01/07/2009, -0/+6"He is Vigo! You are like the buzzing of flies to him!"
Yeah I said it. Only worth a Ghostbusters 2 quote. - deeboe, on 01/07/2009, -0/+6"Given the team's law enforcement credentials, the format seeks to add a new layer of credibility to an increasingly popular reality TV genre which has featured ghost hunting teams founded by professional plumbers, college students and academics."
Why is it that because they are cops, we are supposed to think they are more credibile? This is a common thing I hear. I was watching a UFO show on History the other day and it mentioned the people that saw the UFO were cops, so it must be real.
Why? Some of the biggest liars I know are cops. - bagboyrebel, on 01/07/2009, -2/+7What about people who believe in an invisible man that watches you all the time and had to send his son (who is also himself) to earth to sacrifice himself in order to change his own rules?
- HeDiggMe, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5Who do you think supplies the ghosts
- Nauree, on 01/07/2009, -1/+6Not 911.
- confoundedjoe, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5what's a bomb ass?
- viper001, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5In 10 years, 99% of television will be reality shows.
- Kidtuf, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5What do YOU mean YOU PEOPLE?
- SnowStorms, on 01/07/2009, -1/+5Have you not seen Most Haunted? Ghost's are real.
The crew capture's chairs and stuff moving and get pelted with stones.
Maybe not Ghosts, Maybe they're Fallen Angels or some cool ***** like that. - astland27, on 01/07/2009, -0/+4Remember when "Roseanne" was the closest thing to Reality TV?
- danielrh9, on 01/07/2009, -1/+5He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms.
During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving TORG! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of A GIANT SLOR!
Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor THAT DAY, I can tell you! - Zippo, on 01/07/2009, -4/+8Who ya gonna call?
- YinofYang, on 01/07/2009, -0/+4Thank you, I agree.
There are still many things in this world that even science and logic cannot explain.
Maybe there aren't ghosts walking amongst us, but it is without a doubt that there are things beyond our understanding. - inactive, on 01/07/2009, -1/+5Believe what, that there are still strange and hitherto unexplained facets to our reality?
There was a time in our evolution that pretty much everything was paranormal. Things began to be categorized as normal as we developed the means to control and clinically observe our environment. But it stands to reason that phenomena still exist which are not directly controllable, and do not happen frequently or conveniently enough to be clinically observable.
And so it is arrogant, if not downright illogical, to assume that our understanding of the nature of consciousness and the reality which it perceives is complete, and that nothing "paranormal" remains to be discovered. - inactive, on 01/07/2009, -0/+3So yeah, no Bill Murrey.
- bjs3171, on 01/07/2009, -0/+3no. remember when Candid Camera was, though?
- fabkebab, on 01/06/2009, -3/+6Not exactly an original show idea...
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -0/+3"Whoa, did you hear that?"
"Something just touched me!"
"Look at the hair on the back of my neck." - Bloodwine, on 01/07/2009, -5/+8Who watches these ghost TV shows like Ghost Hunters? I don't see how anybody can believe that crap.
- confoundedjoe, on 01/07/2009, -1/+3what do you mean YOU PEOPLE?
- oldhick, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2Nicely played.
- stonebear, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2Shot him in the lower back, actually.
- slyzxx, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2what is it chicago cops have nothing better to do ? BTW they are the meanest cops ever.
- confoundedjoe, on 01/07/2009, -1/+3In 10 years, 99% of reality will be televised.
- zeropoint51, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2A&E is garbage. That network has had no purpose since it spun off History Channel and the Biography channel. If we had the right to buy channels a al carte it would be one of the first ones I would dump.
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -1/+3While God bashing is kinda boorish, your point is a rather excellent rebuttal.
- stonebear, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2LA area cops disagree. Stridently... with truncheons.
- mikbunn, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2It's a bomb ass-show.
- sadisticmind, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2someone else
- stonebear, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2Except for the part where it's not real.
- rexrep, on 01/09/2009, -0/+1I think Chicago cops and Oakland have something in common: shooting innocent people.
- rocor, on 01/07/2009, -0/+1 Chicago Cops Moonlight As Real-Life cops.
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -0/+1Then quit asking about Skull and Bones, skull and bones!
- Bronowyn, on 01/08/2009, -0/+1Actually, I think Ghost Hunters kind of stinks, too.
Actual "ghost hunting" is really boring. You sit for hours in a stranger's attic/basement/house, in the dark.
If something exciting happens... well, it's really really unusual. I am not in a group at the present time, but I used to do this as a hobby.
Ghost Hunters is technically bad. From a ghost hunting perspective.
Paranormal State is scripted, but the concepts are sound. When they are talking about things that are paranormal, they aren't putting you on. They stick real life ghost hunting stuff in there. - bagboyrebel, on 01/08/2009, -0/+1Normally I try not to do it, but it just seemed so fitting in this case.
- Bronowyn, on 01/08/2009, -0/+1I also agree.
There's an area near Puerto Rico in the ocean, where there is a chasm 5 miles deep. It has yet to be explored thoroughly, as we do not yet have the means. As it goes with most of the oceans of the Earth.
And what about the areas in the southern hemisphere where the magnetic fields are reversed, for no reason we can determine.
i think that earth exploration is the next frontier. Once we wrap that up, THEN we can move on to the Final Frontier. - dext3r, on 01/09/2009, -0/+12 6 7? TWO?
