- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -5/+84thats way off. The peanuts characters are kids, not 20 year olds.

http://brianmckenna.org/files/charlieanim1.jpg - igjoe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+53and apparently anime charlie brown has scoliosis.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -19/+67It's not Awesome. It's somewhat cool. No need to get a boner kid.
- Atom, on 10/12/2007, -11/+49The anime bandwagon left weeks ago. Make it interesting and jump on the hentai train.
- gDubz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26Not awesome, dude. Aren't they supposed to be kids, not busty 16-23yr olds?
You can't even recognize them. - DonSlice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19Charlieee... Charrliiee... Wake up charlie! We found a map to Candy Mountain!

- monkeybutler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8The point of these "gone anime" things is the merging of the original and the new style. Requiring a picture of the original over the head of the anime version only proves the artist didn't accomplish his goal in doing a true update.
- shortarabguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Mirrors, sort of. These were the three that I could get:

I thought the running joke was that those two girls were lesbians or something... I would have expected the anime version of that to be something a little more promiscuous than an arm on a shoulder... - ihatemakingscre, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Not to mention the fact that there is no real resemblance. Not even their clothes look the same. No one would be able to grasp the Charlie Brown connection from these pictures alone.
- Pobotrol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I immediately thought "No Snoopy/Woodstock, No digg", but then I learned that Peppermint Patty and Marcie were girls. Dugg for educational content.
- tmpoirier, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I agree. The drawings are very good indeed, the resemblence leaves a bit to be desired.
- CompUSAEmployee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6The meadow better be on fire or something
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Even anime Charlie Brown needs stupid anime hair.
- ggko, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9OrderSponge, take a closer look at Lucy's shirt.

- Mulo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I guess Woodstock would look like an eagle and Snoopy like a wolf.

- slantyeyed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4no digg, lame . . . nobody would know these drawings are supposed to be charlie brown and friends unless you told them so . . . looks like generic anime pics.
- omninode, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The drawings are mediocre at best.
btw I don't like the implication that Anime = today's culture. It's certainly not a big part of MY life. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Charles Schulz would be spinning in his grave if he knew about this.
Anime characters are the freakin' same, just with different hair and clothes. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I didn't know if I was going to like it only because it's such a classic, but I have to say that was very cool.
- Mudger, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I'D HIT!
- mediaphile, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5and most diggers don't visit image boards regularly. hence this showing up here.
- Alchemeron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Anime is hardly an accurate end-all-be-alll reflection of modern culture.
Anime and manga are where taste goes to die. - ronfez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Image boards such as???
- everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5that's why the anime gods created Loli.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This proves one thing, not everything was meant for Anime
- alf86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've enjoyed the anime renditions lately, but this one isn't so good. It completely fails to capture the characters. This is pretty much just a loose interpretation based on their hair styles.
- meatwad2567, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3My hatred for anime increases. Peanuts becoming anime would just ruin it.
- s0nicfreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2These are not in ANY way anime. These are crappy drawings in the crappy wanna-be-anime style that is all the rage nowadays. Why is this on digg?
- osc1882, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Holy *****, I forgot the I, I better go kill myself now.
- Aang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That is what creativity and art are about. If Schultz would have been upset, so what? That is the problem with the near unlimited copyright that artists and their estates enjoy; it stifles artist creativity.
Some of the best work has been founded on the shoulders (and backs) of previous art. Are we really worried what Shakespeare or any of the biblical authors are thinking when their work is stretched and pulled into new art?
Do any of you listen to rock music? This is the easiest example to show where previous art from gospel, blues and country were fused to create a new form. Do you really care what Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters or Hank Williams think when you turn it up to eleven? - incubus13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Lucy is hot.
- LuxFX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2does anybody else think that Charlie Brown looks like Spider Jerusalem?
- everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2wow, how old is this?
- marinist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I grew up reading Peanuts, and I even have their comic books from the '50s (from my 'rents.)
Reading through the whole history, there _were_ some changes until Peanuts basically froze in time.
I know Peanuts is a cultural institution and all, but I eventually got bored wanting them to do anything diffrerent. I now see these characters as middle-aged people. While this anime interpretation is poorly realized, it somehow casts a younger look onto Linus, Chuck, and Lucy. (Well, perhaps a little too much *something* for her). - benc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Everybody wish Snoopy was here? And Woodstock? Everybody wish Snoopy and Woodstock was here? Well they're DEAD!
(obligatory Family Guy reference, http://youtube.com/watch?v=6K0N6t1ehuo ) - hooksie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm not even going to bother explaining why you're a retard, but you are one.
- 4bit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Actually, I figured out who they all were before I even noticed the ones up top. So, I think he did just fine...
- bdbr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well really the Peanuts kids are probably close to retirement age by now...
Somehow its not all that surprising that Charlie Brown has grown up to be a psycho killer (at least that's what he looks like in the picture!). He did catch a lot of grief growing up. -
