      Somehow its not all that surprising that Charlie Brown has grown up to be a psycho killer (at least that's what he looks like in the picture!). He did catch a lot of grief growing up.

      Anime Violet could just as well be a Betty & Veronica fusion.

    This is NOT a knock at the artists or anything, but why are we so worked up and excited over this? I knew people doing this over 10 years ago. There almost seems to be a smug attitude from the fandom along the lines of, "See, we've taken your tired and uninspired art and made it cool and relevant thanks to the magic of anime/manga. We win."

    Hell, I used to have drawings of a more westernized looking version of anime/manga characters from the 90s and i don't see too much interest swinging that way. Can I start posting more Americanized looking DBZ and Ranma 1/2 drawings and get bizarro dugg*?

    (*Unfortunately, since they'd be from the 90s, they'd look like Rob Liefeld's Ranma 1/2 and Todd McFarlane's DBZ)

I can't for the life of me fathom what this fascination with Japanese anime is all about, all the characters look the same and have the same overexcited or bored facial expressions.

    Anime is to cartoons what Rap, Nsync or Jessica Simpson are to good music.

      This isn't tribute! This isn't even an homage! This is a Great Dane lifting his leg and pissing on Sparky's legacy. There weren't any hidden agendas about sexuality between the characters; these represented characters out of Charles Schulz's childhood. Damn, I know that these days we don't treat some things as being off limits for damnit, respect the source material. If this glue-sniffing choad was hellbent on reimaging the peanuts gang, why not leave them innocent kids instead of twisting them up into slackers and their girls who model for Import Tuner? The only thing missing on Charlie Brown was a pierced lip and pit bull Snoopy. Besides, everyone knows Linus would be full-on emo.
