Will you stop spamming us with your dumbass link to Linkin Park? *****. - grayghst83, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28i agree with the article that they need to get rid of niki/jessica and her entire family... my friends and i groan at the sight of her. her story isn't in the least compelling. her husband is the only one with potential, but they haven't done anything interesting with that character.
- lasombragh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24A lot of people do enjoy Heroes because it's a very well done show. Now you've just got a bunch of non-conforming asshats conforming to hate it first.
- TheSatan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17It has already been renewed. There will definitely be a second season.
- Otto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15I know. I keep expecting her to be useful to the main plotline at some point, but she's just... not. Unless they have some way to integrate that thread in a really amazing and fascinating way with the rest of the main story, then they need to kill Jessica off. And her "power" of crazy psycho split personalities is rather lame as well. What's the point?
- j4son, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Bears can climb faster than they can run.
- imamessy1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Dear gnarbuckets,
The internet isn't much better.

These shows are pretty good:
Heroes, The Office, My Name Is Earl, Friday Night Lights, and Andy Barker P.I. - TGDina, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10It's mainly to do with Sweeps. They have a long break in March/April so you have as many episodes as possible in February and May when you need ratings at their highest to get the most money from advertisers.
- mym6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7No doubt. Can anyone list some superior shows so I can feel like I fit in with the "right" crowd?
- louapol, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12@Bluteau
Lost "was" a good show that is now lost itself. Those writers ran out of good ideas a while ago... - afeitarse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Well, it's partly what people already said and partly because the the network wants to lengthen the tv season without having to come up with more than ~22 episodes. I personally like this structure because it makes it seem like there's less time between each season and because it allows writers to set a series of 'mini-seasons' like acts in a play, each with their own climax and cliffhanger. I think this helps keep the plot arc tighter and prevents a lot of filler episodes that writers pad in to wait until they ratchet up the suspense for the season finale.
- Hockey37, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I wonder what Skylar would be like if he absorbed her powers?
What about Peter as well? - lasombragh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@ Sabarsky
Sure, it's absolutely possible that Heroes isn't crafted for elitist show snobs. It's also possible that the writers know a thing or two about pacing, intrigue, composition, some genre-bending, and even manage to conclude things here and there instead of answering questions with questions.
Imagine that. - tdogg241, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Several years ago, I would have agreed with markj3450's assessment. But in recent years, I think network TV has received a major boost in creativity and quality, which is more than I can say for mainstream films.
- chrisreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Her husband is actually a pretty cool character. They just need to get him in a different situation away from the rest of his family because he has cool powers.
- ZebraCrew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4While i do agree that she should be done away with, i think her real power is super strength (i believe i remember her throwing her husband across the room with one arm) and the multiple personality thing is more of a mental problem that might be sorted out later
- madmordigan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one hating Niki's storyline - it was just never compelling to me. I did however read a good explanation of her powers and what would happen should she meet Peter or Sylar:
Niki's power is super strength - nothing else - she just happens to be crazy as well. So if she meet Peter or Sylar they will just get her strength not her madness.
And then Sylar can kill her...
Works for me ;)
Arg! ZebraCrew beat me to it :P - robharper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4gnarbuckets: Thanks for the insight, jackass.
- RexMaxus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5But then I won't be able to read all of the 'Heroes is the best show on TV! comments because I dugg them down.
- Memles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Parkman was seen briefly in the beginning of 'Parasite' and has never been free ever since being captured by Primatech at the end of 'Company Man'.
- srodolff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Let's see. After the last episode I predicted that Peter's wound would self-heal and Sylar would be thrown acrossed the room by Peter's powers.
Let's see just how close I was. - andyzies, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Finally... the world can go on! :)
- Memles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Heh, I apologize for that. I wasn't so much expecting the popularity, and the inside reference was more for close friends. Muppet Family Christmas is a true classic, though.
- BobbyMC, on 07/21/2008, -1/+3Even that article was too vague. I don't remember Parkman getting caught again. These hiatus are officially more than just a bit annoying, they now work against the progress of the storyline in my book.
- alikataz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I agree that the break has just been annoying. (I hate to admit to having read this, but...) At least the graphic novel on the NBC site has been filling in some of the blanks during the hiatus. Apparently Linderman saved (healed) Mr. Petrelli (Peter/Nathan's dad) in Vietnam, etc.
- bbhh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2their kid is kinda cool too. but she's just messed. her power isn't even cool or anything, it's just messed up dual personalities. i hope her husband kills her, or she gets shot with a power removing weapon, or... anything.
- fabio1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3haha! Dugg for quoting Dwight.
- fowleryo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2you can take Andy Barker off that list since it's been cancelled :(
- mbradbury, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Shouldn't Peter have a the powers that Sylar has as he is in close proximity.
- srodolff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So, do I ROCK or what?
I swear that I didn't know how last night's episode would come out. - nathanwalker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So Hiro has his sword, Peter is getting cut up by Sylar, and Nathan is talking to Linderman. I have this show set for Tivo-ing.
- stevewmn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think you're on the right track. He'll lose his greasy emo-kid bangs and have to grow up a little. I doubt Claude will jump in to help with a psycho like Sylar. Peter is the save the world type. Claude is out for himself only. Peter will somehow escape Sylar's attack (way too easily) but Sylar will slink off and lick his wounds to come back and fight it out another day. Somehow he or Peter and Nuclear Ted need to cross paths during sweeps.
- sweetrelease, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@sabarsky
oh God forbid someone makes a superhero show that isn't aimed for a niche comic book audience - lilrabbit129, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Shouldn't Peter have a the powers that Sylar has as he is in close proximity."
He already does, but as can be seen in other episodes. Anything that requires control ( ie. not somethign like Claire's healing) takes time for him to master. - sweetrelease, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Network TV dramas are doing really well. Its Sitcoms that are slipping lately. There are really no good ones out there besides How I Met Your Mother.
- tdogg241, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1TGDina's response is the only correct one. Any prime time TV show worth keeping on the air (from a profit standpoint) *always* has new episodes during November/February/May sweeps, which usually results in reruns/hiatuses so that new episodes can be aired when they'll make the most money from advertising. Conversely, TV shows that are performing poorly will sometimes be pre-empted by either new shows or new episodes of established shows during sweeps periods (this happened with Arrested Development's 2nd and 3rd seasons).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweeps#.22Sweeps.22 - degeneral, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Niki/Jessica: Psychological State: I don’t even care anymore...Honestly, can we just kill her off?"
I love it. Good article - short and to the point.
As for the latest episode, pretty good, but it kinda glossed over some things really quick. Sorta makes the long break seem unnecessary - why couldn't they have just broken up the episode into 2 parts and focus on some more development? my 2 cents. - TGDina, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0It's mainly to do with Sweeps. Most shows have a long break in March/April so you have as many episodes as possible in February and May when you need ratings at their highest to get the most money from advertisers.
- Tigrou, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Funny how we all agree; I think they tried to do that with having her turn "both" of them into the cops. Then some bonehead writer decided to bring her back in. The woman can't act; just get her off the show.
- OwdenBowden, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1This is a great show but it would be better if it was on a pay channel like HBO - only because they would be able to do so much more with it.
- goldenhearted, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0It's time to save the world! :D Can't wait!
- Makubex, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2I sat through a minute and fourty five seconds of the muppets for that? Come on now.
- wibambau, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3I love heroes. Its renewl is imminent.
- superheroboy, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2They're only given a certain amount of shows by the network to see if it's a success. If it is, they have to hurry and make more episodes. If they can't make them in the time it takes to run the original episodes, they go on hiatus.
- rubicante, on 10/12/2007, -12/+5Yea, you'd think nerds would like this X-Men-esque TV show. Maybe there an uber-nerd somewhere that decried this show sucks and so now it sucks. Or there is too much soap opera drama in the show. Or they add to many subplots. Don't all network shows do these things, though?
- Shuk, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Say what you want about 24, but once that show starts, it keeps going! Why can't popular shows like Heroes just start seasons later and be consistent!
- markj3450, on 10/12/2007, -12/+2Lost is crap too ;) ...as well as 24
- cortlandjim, on 10/12/2007, -16/+2whats up with the long hiatus anyway?
