CNN's Larry King Live Panders To Big Oil ‘Heroes’
thinkprogress.org — CNN’s Larry King Live offered a cavalcade of oil, coal, and nuclear industry apologists last night, telling watchers that “all of us” are to blame for high gas prices, oil companies are “heroes,” and that we should convert coal to gasoline, drill for oil in the North Pole, and build more nuclear plants.

- jacothedevil, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4i cant stand larry king. he always makes me change the station from CNN. the first time i seriously gave king a shot, he interviewed someone about their alleged alien encounter video (the video was not shown). he's an antique; an outdated voice, not to mention a tool.
- InvisibleInk, on 07/01/2008, -1/+3We should abolish the Federal Reserve and their periodic and idiotic inflation of the currency supply, which is what results in higher prices across the board. They simply create money out of thin air to bail out corporations run amok with unsound investments and awash in so much debt they can't even maintain any cash in the bank for their unsuspecting depositors to withdraw.
They create artificial booms with their low-interst rates, tempting financial institutions to make specualtive, highly suspect investments, then try to curb their own inflation-creation stupidity by raising short term interest rates, creating busts of the very unsound booms they previously created!
What cost $100 in 1913 now costs $2100.00 today. It's outrageous what their inflation of the currency has resulted in. One day soon what happened to Japan (0% interest, 0% growth) in the nineties will happen here, gauranteed unless the federal reserve system isn't abolished.
They tell us inflation is low, but they purposely leave out energy and food from their "core inflation" calculus. They are corrupt and useless, even worse that useless, they're outrigt swindlers of the American people.
