- futureisours, on 10/12/2007, -1/+68I don't know about the Shaun of the Dead comedy emphasis, but I think a realistic zombie tv series with depicts a group of survivors battling zombies and trying to survive or rebuild civilization would be a nobrainer (haha).
- calebhawk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8http://iconsoffright.com/news/2007/04/exclusive_pictures_babylon_fie.html
pictures from pilot shoot - themastersb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10An I the only one who cant see the pictures?
- boberto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Looks like adblock is blocking them
- mandarin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Theres pictures???
- AWeeBitInsane, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1CBS announced that despite their pale, lifeless faces, their lust for human flesh and their seeming invincibility, the worst thing about these Zombies is that they have used horrible racial slurs in the past like "nappy-headed hos". The good guy in the pilot is the CBS network who fire the Zombies later over the use of that word (thus making the series consist of only the pilot), especially after Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton protest and call for boycotting the zombies.
- mikeyj10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I like the zombie show Idea, but one of these networks has got to make a ninja show soon.
- stellamaris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pictures worked for me in Safari, but not Firefox.
- dpcamp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4How come they look like dirty bums instead of zombies?
- crashflow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"one of these networks has got to make a ninja show soon"
its called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I nearly shat myself when I read the description of the digg submission. I'm a big zombie nut and I know I'll watch this show no matter what it's like. (If you only the crappy movies I've seen just to get some more zombie action.)- fotd42, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10agreed. I just read World War Z, been reading bits and pieces of The Zombie Survival Guide, and couldn't put down Dead Rising. I could definitely see myself getting into this show.
- SlackerCSB, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9'I'm a big zombie nut'
Oh yeah? - theantix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9If you're a huge fan of zombie fiction, I'd suggest you also check out The Walking Dead comic series by Robert Kirkman. Best zombie fiction in any medium besides what Romero has done, much better than World War Z.
- Kypt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I concur. I read World War Z and fell in love with the book. Then a friend (wrongly so) told me that same author of the WWZ was making a comic book so I got into it. I realized his mistake as soon as I saw the cover and saw "Robert Kirkman" but hell I the art was amazing so dove in. Haven't looked back ever since. The Walking Dead is kirkman's "never ending zombie movie". Its focus is not the zombies. The zombies are a tool to show us the real story. A story about survival and adaptation and how dark the human heart can be in times of great pressure. I LOVE IT :D
- JCSaint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1theantix,
I have the two hardcovers on order from Amazon. =)
- DarkReign16, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I was just thinking about how cool this would be the other day. But I am still not sure how the zombie format will translate into a series, I guess we will find out!
- erkayae, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17They could make it as non-sensical as Lost and I'd still watch it
- teamparadox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I love Zombies and if the show was done well I might turn on the TV for once..
- raybury, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10And the TV will suck out your brain, continuing the zombie cycle.
- nakatomiplaza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well said.
Although the PG 13 "horror" films makes all the box office $, so it could be successful on the small screen.
- number5, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2last i heard about this,it wasn't Eat your Brain Zombies. But people are coming back to life and returning to there life's
- DarkReign16, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17I hope not. I want a survival horror zombie series. Not a Joe the zombie gas station clerk show.
- sacherjj, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2So kind of like Dead Like Me? Only a few people in this world can get by with there life, when they can only say "BRAINS!"
- DarthTurducken, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12"last i heard about this,it wasn't Eat your Brain Zombies. But people are coming back to life and returning to there life's"
Save your zombie grammar for YouTube, buddy!
- naes341, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9A primetime zombie show would be great. Then I would have something to watch when american idol is on.
- mjparker75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+57I thought American Idol was a primetime zombie show...
- DarkReign16, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9The zombies look more like homeless people...they better start adding gore.
- masterkenobi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25I think the last thing on the zombies' mind is global warming...
- betovarg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3yeah, those zombies are awful... its just a bunch of dirty ol' mates
- Palaceguard, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Zombie women are hot
- RexMaxus, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5Do you actually have a penis? Or are you just choosing not to use it's better judgment?
- ArmyOfFun, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Reminds me of this movie:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0480772/
*shudder*
- RexMaxus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I thought it said 'CBS Zombie Plot'
I was all excited to learn what CBS had in store in case of a zombie attack.
Oh well... I guess I'll have to stick to my 'hide in the attic until they go away' plan.- kevinchai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I first thought of a zombie flying planes.
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Deal or no....AHHHHH...IT JUST BIT MY HEAD OFF!
- Cruelapollo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10How could you still be speaking then?
"This doesn't seem physically possible!" - chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It is...trust me...I've seen it happen.
- naes341, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Zombie law and order, or CSI zombie?
- jspegele, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Next season of Survivor?
- crashflow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Survivor: Zombie Island
throw in a chain saw challenge, hidden ammo stashes, secret zombie contestants...
instant TiVo in my book.
- theNazz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8...'Day of the Living Dead.'...
That must be a new remix of Night of the Living Dead and Day of the Dead...- BluesX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Why is he being dugg down? He's right, it's Day of the Dead.
- SpenceMasta, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4im a huge zombie fan, but i have a strong feeling this would be a terrible terrible show, sorry for the pessimism
- MonkeyHeart, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I hate Zombies! Filthy undead, ruining it for everyone. And whats with the flesh eating anyway? Its not as if they have a functioning digestive system. Gluttony is what it is.
I do love zombie movies however. The premise is promising. I hope they pull it off.- tszarathstra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree, I completely loathe the undead...but love their movies!
- crashflow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I on the other hand, love vampires (esp. one's played by Kate Beckinsale wearing an impossibly tight black suit. )
Vampires movies, however, suck.
- nurall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11a show that followed ppl during the zombie Apocalypse would be good if done by HBO.
- DarkReign16, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I didn't even think of that, all the zombie greatness will have to be edited on CBS, damnit.
- dewright23, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I have been hoping for a DeadWorld series based on the comics.
http://www.garyreed.net/Deadworld/home.htm
Great comic and a terrific idea for a series in my opinion. - Girlwho, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1This is totally believable...and may just be a hit. At SXSW Film Fest in Austin this year, there were 3 zombie films that screened, and two of them were sort of boy-next-door zombie themes. Here's a story about those films: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spe/2007/sxsw/general/stories/031307ledesxsw2007.ae01a88.html
Either way, I'd still watch it. I heart zombies. - needo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I really hope this makes it! I am a huge zombie fan. I constantly play Dead Rising for some good ole zombie killin'!
- holzp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I know CBS has traditionally had the older audience, but targeting the undead, novel!
- Dragular, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5First Jericho, a post-nuke show, and now a zombie show? CBS might not get any other viewers but my ass is getting popcorn ready.
- Gee1004, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0yeah, all the undead old pedo people will watch it
- maggieliz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5interesting - this could easily be based off of the Graphic Novels "The Walking Dead" by Robert Kirkman
http://tinyurl.com/236u2y
If you haven't read them, they're well-written with a tight plot and excellent character development. Good stuff.- FoolsRun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Well written" isn't a word I'd ascribe to that book. Well plotted, well thought out, sure, but more unrealistic, wooden dialog I have not seen in a long time.
- maggieliz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1reasonable minds can disagree - still, *I* liked it. Specifically how the survivors reacted to each other. Read a little deeper in the series - there are 6 books out now, and it gets *really* interesting when they hit the jail.
- hackiavelli, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I never could get into that one unfortunately. It feels far more like a soap opera than survival horror.
Maybe they should rename it. The Young and the Zombies. Days of our Unlives. All My Zombies. As the World Turns Undead.
- UrbanVoyeur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll just eat everyone in Jericho...
- Prathik89, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Now that would be awesome!
- kevinmotel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They filmed this in my town. Pity I didn't bring my camera to work that day.
- IceSabre, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5In later news, CBS, not to be one upped by Fox, has CANCELLED "Zombie Fields".
They also cancelled an unnamed show that one of the new writers they just fired was contemplating in the shower this morning. - MiyaKome, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2If they actually air this show, it'll be the first time in years that I'll actually plan on weekly watching a specific show.
- knightrider1919, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Too bad it looks like they are going for the Zombies come from the grave premise. We all know zombies don't awaken from the dead. Although if done right could be an interesting show. There is only one CBS show on a season pass on my TiVo ( Ghost Whisperer). Other than that, CBS has some of the worst shows on television.
- Tourney3p0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You clearly have never seen a good zombie movie or even know what a zombie is. I suggest you look it up. I mean actually look it up. Not draw upon some obviously incorrect predisposed idea you have of it.
- JCSaint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Tourney,
In nearly all "classic" zombie movies, they arise from being bit but if they're already dead and then get infected, they stay dead and don't become "undead." Exceptions include Return of the Living Dead, Re-Animator which hold a special place in my heart but are definitely only for those willing to watch "B" movies.
- donkz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Hmm sounds like NBC ripoff
Ordinary zombies discover their disordinary appetites - bigtizzle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm curious to see how they'll pull of a show like this without being able to depict the violence inherent with typical zombie entertainment. They'd never be able to show any zombies getting their heads blown off or feasting on flesh the way we're all used to in the movies. Still, I do love me some zombies. . .
- TurdFaceManLove, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Hmmmm... I'd be more excited if it was an HBO original series or something of that nature... the basic-cable-sponsor-whores won't do it justice, they never do. How can you have zombies without excessive blood and violence? And as much as you guys wanna lie to yourselves, you have to admit Heroes is an awesome idea, but the execution is horrible. It's ***** cheesy and the dialogue is for *****, but that's what you get with basic cable drama. I wouldn't get your hopes up.
- ArmyOfFun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1CBS and NBC are television networks, not basic cable channels. You don't need cable to get them.
Also, Heroes' dialogue has shown improvement over the season. Actually most aspects of that show have gotten better.
- ArmyOfFun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1CBS and NBC are television networks, not basic cable channels. You don't need cable to get them.
- Dudeee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I hope it's brain eating zombies, If not it's gonna be a total borefest.
Titles of this makes it seem like CBS was in a zombie plot or some sorts - vcleniuk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Could be a good one, if done like Shaun of the Dead.
I would think the premise might wear thin quickly, though. - Neem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5A zombie show made in the way 28 days later was, would kick ass.
- diggB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Trust me, before it even makes on the air ...
It'll be dead on arrival!
(ducks) - digiguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1zombie movies gives me the munchies
- Tourney3p0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"Ordinary people" meeting zombies would be more like Night of the Living Dead or maybe the beginning of Dawn of the Dead. In Day of the Dead, the world is already pretty much given up and people are having to live underground in army compounds just to survive. Needless to say, this is widely considered to be the worst of the original trilogy.
I really hope the description was wrong. - Hortinstein, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this is probably the most exciting thing i have seen on digg, since i have wanted this ever since getting really into walking dead and the whole zombie genre...than I saw that people credited with Dexter and Six Feet Under are helping too, which is awesome
if anyone wants a good zombie Comic thats only one issue read "Pieces for Mom" by Steve Niles...one of the best zombie books out there
www.zombiedefense.org is anothter good website for preparing yourself for the zombie apocolypse - Depthfunction, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Awesome. I'm all over this show. I love zombie movies. The crucial question, though, is whether these will be slow, lumbering zombies, or quick, running zombies?
- gcodori, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0For those who RTFA - it sounds like these will be the family safe happy zombies, not the brain eating kind. It seems the dead have been given a chance to rise and seek help solving their crimes. So think of this like Raines with zombies instead of figments of imagination.
No clue why they would all be leaving the graves at once though. Maybe they have to be rounded up and put into holding cells until the authorities can figure out what to do.
Maybe some escape being caught and attend high school as goth kids. - bnitro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Great now i have to watch CBS
- woodchuckrules, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't think its a zombie show folks. Sounds and looks like something else to me.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0955219/
"The dead return to earth in an attempt to restore old wounds." I see Lost type show with people alive again. Not living dead.- woodchuckrules, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Of course I could be wrong.
- radio1mike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1About the Ninja show--
It was called 'The Master', NBC aired it in 1984.
Zombie show does look promising. - g30ph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Please. If this Zombie show sees the light of day, CBS will order 13 episodes, air 7 of them before canceling it, and then Sci-Fi will cancel something you would have preferred to watch in order to show all 13 episodes which they will advertise as if it's a new and complete series.
Well I'm not going for it. - Krakn3Dfx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1"The premise has the dead returning to life literally and figuratively as they ingratiate themselves back into society and relationships"
Bleh, sounds more like They Came Back, where people just come back to life and go back to their lives as normal. No zombies per se, just...crap.
Bored already.
