Brokaw Wins Emmy For "Global Warming: What You Need To Know"

treehugger.com — Last night Tom Brokaw was awarded an Emmy for his work on Global Warming: What You Need To Know. The two-hour special decoded eco buzzwords and armed viewers with clear definitions and visual depictions to explain the greenhouse effect, carbon dioxide emissions, CFCs, effects on weather and rising sea levels.

  • kageki, on 10/10/2007, -8/+6Um no it does seem like BS. CFCs were originally attributed to ozone layer depletion, but that seems like BS because they forgot to mention they tested a couple hundred nukes in the atmosphere and all over.

    Why is there still no mention of the Sun? We are right smack in the middle of a sunspot cycle which has historically shown to have great effects on this planet even wars.

    Winning an Emmy doesn't mean squat. I guarantee everyone here can look at the latest round of winners and find at least a few actors/shows that have no business being nominated for an award, let alone winning it.

Everyone knows that since the beginning of time, scientists have agreed that the world is round, that Earth revolves around the Sun, that the Sun is the center of the Solar System, and that the Solar System is just a normal system in a galaxy in a universe. There were never any differing opinions and those who did think differently were clearly crazy.

    When people's who policy is spreading the word on climate change and your friendly politicians and news anchors tell you that we're all going to die because man has warmed the earth, you had best believe them.

  • inactive, on 10/10/2007, -12/+4I saw that program. It was a while ago but I am pretty sure that they did not mention that we are between Ice Ages right now. Global warming is a load of crap. Even if we INCREASED emissions, we could not stop the next Ice Age, which would cover the top one-third of the Earth with ice. This happens EVERY 10 or 15 thousand years so it's just a matter of time. Scientists who are honest will tell you this. The History Channel, in fact, had a program about the history of the Earth and explained this.
