- inactive, on 10/26/2008, -14/+45Hold on a minute... is this supposed to attack Joe Biden? Honestly it makes me like him even more...
- TBagwell, on 10/26/2008, -16/+44wow I've never seen so many failures in one article's comments. hilarious. did you guys even watch the video?
compare this to the comments in http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Biden_Slammed_Du ...
Those questions were all softball textbook McCain campaign talking points -- the interviewer made a fool of herself, only to be outdone by some of Biden's responses. - p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/26/2008, -12/+35This was THE most unprofessional and OUTRAGEOUS interview in this 2 year campaign cycle.
To compare ANY Presidential candidate in a major party to Karl Marx is unspeakable.
This woman should be summarily fired. - johnboycanada, on 10/25/2008, -39/+59Tough questions are one thing but leading questions are another... Could another journalist take a Adolf Hitler quote, attach it and make comparisons to McCain's own policies? Would that be acceptable journalism? I don't think so, not by a long shot!
- jakereilly, on 10/26/2008, -5/+22Exactly. It's pretty obvious that these lame mccainbots saw the title and assumed it was biden "losing" when in reality the questions were ridiculous and stupid and he explained everything very well.
Comparing him to Karl Marx? WTF? Who does that? Even loony neocons steer from going that far.
Anyone digging this is a moron, plain and simple. - duckbillgates, on 10/26/2008, -12/+28Sample "tough" question: "Are you forewarning Americans that nothing will be done and America's days as the world's leading power are over?"
Asking a vice-presidential candidate something you swiped from a loony e-mail someone forwarded you isn't tough journalism. You do know this, right? You have to know this. Right? - kingofinternet, on 10/26/2008, -17/+33'angered'? 'tough questions'?
BWAHAHAHA
cuckoo cuckoo
you guys are better off carving backwards B's in your faces. - TBagwell, on 10/26/2008, -5/+20I think we just stumbled upon a wal-mart republican circle-jerk
- jakereilly, on 10/26/2008, -8/+22Did you even watch it? He answered every god damn question very well, while she compared him to Karl Marx.
got under his skin? wow, you are desperate. mccain is losing and you call that desperate, WOW.
lol at mccain supporters, soooo lame! - HappyScrappy, on 10/26/2008, -14/+27Those questions were ridiculous. Biden did his best answering them, he didn't cut off the interview or refuse to answer any of them.
But come on, putting out false information and then asking him if he's ashamed? She should have led off with "Have you stopped beating your wife?"
The point of an interview is to find out info. I'd be even better if we found out info that might change our opinions or votes. Instead she chooses to try to make her own reality. Putting forward false info just leads to denials like you see here, and that's not any kind of useful info. - jakereilly, on 10/26/2008, -3/+15Watch the video, asshat.
- DodgeV83, on 10/26/2008, -0/+12Um...they both have the same youtube video source. Just different comments.
- ligyron, on 10/26/2008, -6/+17I think he was just being classy. He burns her in his answers, but here he's giving her the benefit of the doubt that she's not so stupid as to have written those questions. I'm sure she appreciated him saying that, because she said nothing after he made that comment, suggesting that she did not in fact write those questions
- col381, on 10/26/2008, -5/+16Oh ***** DCMAT. You say it is 'ok' for Obama to get compared to Marx but that is crap. If you knew even a little bit about what you were talking about you would know that Marx's theories were nothing like the policies Obama is suggesting, since when has Universal Healthcare and ensuring the Middle class get a fair ride been "Communist" - do you consider Canada to be a Communist country??
The point johnboycanada made was that the slur was made because Marx represents the "Far left" and since Obama is a left politician you think this is a fair comparison. Well, using those terms why would it not be equally fair for someone to compare McCain with Adolf Hitler who was after all, like John McCain, another "right wing conservative" politician. There is your comparison and there is the point. This type of 'label' slur is low down, dirty and just plain disgusting. Biden was angry because he had every right to be angry, in the same way as McCain would be angry to be compared to Hitler.
The fact that idiots like you buy into this kind of crap makes me sick, show a bit of intelligence and make your opinions based on facts, not what you have been told to think. - dremango, on 10/26/2008, -24/+35McCain has been calling him "Joe the Biden" lately, hillarious!
- threat42, on 10/26/2008, -14/+25Republican shills have discovered Digg! Welcome, you mindless sheep!
- inactive, on 10/26/2008, -6/+16If that was Joe Biden while "angered," then he has a much better control over his temper than that clown McCain does.
- andersan, on 10/26/2008, -1/+11GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN!
- SpenderH, on 10/25/2008, -8/+17Let someone try to take my guns. I dare them.
- IllBeBack, on 10/26/2008, -6/+15They realize that Americans will recognize the lies of McCain's talking points.
- IllBeBack, on 10/26/2008, -4/+12When you lose you wife and child in a horrible accident, you will cry too. If you don't, you're simply a sociopath.
- col381, on 10/26/2008, -2/+10Sadly I don't think so. It seems the majority of the people making comments on this post are morons who don't have a single opinion in their heads that they put there themselves.
- col381, on 10/26/2008, -2/+10You have REALLY low standards.
- Neiby, on 10/26/2008, -12/+20Yes, by all means, write her and thank her for doing her part as a Republican shill.
- xforge, on 10/26/2008, -3/+10No, that was Barbara West. I lived in Orlando for 40 years; we should not only be asking who wrote questions for Barbara West, we should also be asking who's got their hand up her back working the absolutely hollow puppet head she has perched on her injection-molded neck. Yes, I've met her in person and yes, she literally redefines the word "vapid." I am not joking.
- HappyScrappy, on 10/26/2008, -7/+14He didn't GIVE them anything. He hired a company to do get out the vote work. Like you see in this story: http://digg.com/politics/The_McCain_Campaign_may_n ...
See those people she interviews? Those are the same kind of people Obama hired from a company. Do you think people who just go out to canvas actually influence McCain's policies? How about Obama's?
And the company Obama hired wasn't ACORN, it was a for-profit company that often works with ACORN. - threat42, on 10/26/2008, -4/+11And Sarah Palin would do a heck of a job as second in command. How many VP candidates are under investigation for abusing power before they even make it to the White House! Ha!
- IllBeBack, on 10/26/2008, -6/+12Why should he need to answer questions based on lies? The interview questions sounded like all of the asinine talking points from McCain rallies.
Additionally, the same interviewer had interviewed McCain earlier and had given him all soft questions. The station's new director, however, said that they don't ask softball questions. *****. Why then did YPM not come up?
This is not REAL reporting. It's a thinly veiled attempt at hiding the fact that she is simply another neocon pig. - bhrgero, on 10/26/2008, -3/+9the tough questions Palin has had? like what?! Are you talking about the one about the newspapers she's reading or the simple one about the job description of the position she is running for?
At least Biden is out there and answers questions.
Also, if you could show me the part were Biden is curling up in fetal position... All i saw is him whooping her ass for the stupid lies and talking points she is spreading as statements not as questions.
(he should have stopped the interview when she came up with the lie that sweden is a socialist country.. you guys have no idea what socialism really is) - inactive, on 10/25/2008, -78/+84Good for her, she got under his skin. What does he think its going to be like if he were VP? Not easier than that but harder.
- SpenderH, on 10/26/2008, -32/+38Biden "We haven't given ACORN a dime". Lie. Obama gave them $800K in the primaries.
- Latentk, on 10/26/2008, -2/+8A famous guy once said:
‘‘No freeman shall be debarred the use of arms (within his own lands or tenements).’’
Yeah, I think his name was Thomas Jefferson or something. You may have heard of him. Spender I am with you. The day the government ATTEMPTS to take my arms, peacefully or not, will be the day I've simply had enough. You want to see the quickest way to the 2nd American Revolution? Try and take our guns away. - absentmindedjwc, on 10/26/2008, -12/+17I dont know about you... but the difference here could possibly be this:
McCain/Palin are nazis - shown on the comedy family guy as a joke
Obama is a marxist - shown on the news as factual...
hmm, your right, I see no difference at all... - woodrow8292, on 10/26/2008, -0/+5That's about the dumbest comparison I have seen. She asked questions that related to the issues in their campaign. She called him on the spread the wealth comment, asked about his ties to ACORN, asked about his socialist leanings, the "test of Obama" he mentioned. These are issues that are fair game. The guy is running for VP he should expect to be questioned about statements that have come out of his mouth and campaign.
I love how you go crazy when your VP is attacked but probably sat back and cheered with all the attacks on Palin. - inactive, on 10/25/2008, -16/+21Don't be a ninny. If it's a leading question, Biden is free to question the premise. If he's smart enough.
- txchica, on 10/26/2008, -12/+17http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/11/us/politics/11ac ...
- thinkresults, on 10/26/2008, -9/+14I doubt the "Left" will think of her as racist - a supposed right-wing shill perhaps - but not racist.
She was just lacing her questions with commentary and, therefore, should expect a push right back. I think her issue is not going to be the "Left" but her viewers now perceiving her as biased - especially since she was much more softball when she interviewed McCain earlier. Which is fine - if she can find a commentary spot and these question/comments were not just read off of someone else's writing. - xforge, on 10/26/2008, -1/+6So very, sadly true. And that really should be the last word on this. I mean, my God. Just... wow.
- Latentk, on 10/26/2008, -10/+14Keep living in your disillusioned world. You call us tools? You bite at the very WHIFF of Obama's scent.
PS: Spreading the wealth around means exactly that. You are attempting to redefine something Obama said under differing conditions and preconditions. I am sorry, your godsend is very much so highly socialistic in ideals. I do not want to pay for other folks, nor do I wish to see the top 1% pay for me and others like me who have yet to really make it. They ***** made it, congrats, now let them have their hard earned cash.
Its so easy to take and spend money that is not yours. - independents, on 10/25/2008, -71/+75 How refreshing! Though it may be a bit late in the game for the media to make an attempt to undo their blatant bias....The media has lost all credibility - though I truly appreciate this woman's courage in her attempt to be fair. Don't be surprised if she will now be branded as a racist by the Leftist Loons!!
- NorthMass, on 10/26/2008, -0/+4I don't like McCain or Obama which I actually explained in another post you replied to so you're absolutely pathetic attempts to discredit me fail.
- jakereilly, on 10/26/2008, -8/+12inbox, i hope to god that you are kidding because if not, god help us all if there are really people as dumb as you in our society.
- these3remain, on 10/26/2008, -6/+10"That isn't any better than reporters who are very biased the other direction." The problem being that the vast majority of reporters and mainstream media are extremely biased and in the tank for Obama. So it's rare to see an interview conducted by someone from a different perspective. You probably can't cite another incident like this. And when it finally did happen, the Dems cut them off.
- cheviot, on 10/26/2008, -14/+18He was referring to the fact that her husband is a GOP policy advisor. Try doing some research next time.
- inboxnews, on 10/25/2008, -16/+20We all might be sent to the gulag. I fully expect hate legislation and the (so-called) fairness doctrine to pass congress in the first 60-days of an 0bama administration, followed up with a ban on all guns. After which you better watch your ass.
- Sogladtobehere, on 10/26/2008, -3/+7That was sexist how exactly? Her questions were obviously written by the McCain campaign! They were his talking points almost word for word. C'mon guys. Comparing the Obama campaign to Marx??? Get real.
- woodrow8292, on 10/26/2008, -1/+5So Biden didn't say that the world would test Obama and his decision would be unpopular? Obama didn't say " I just want to you know spread the wealth around". Obama doesn't have ties to ACORN? I don't know how those are lies. Now granted there are tons of stupid things floating around about Obama, he's a Muslim, he isn't a citizen and all that crap. Now if she asked about those I would have agreed there were all lies but she did ask about real issues that are out there and even asked him to explain what he was talking about in one of his own statements.
- ductcleaner, on 10/26/2008, -3/+7HOW UNFAIR!!! - I thought we all agreed, no tough questions for democrats. What does she think she's doing? Certainly there must be something we can do about this! There should be some sort of doctrine or something that would prevent the media from asking tough questions of ANY democrat. This MUST be stopped! - Tough questions should only be asked of those nasty, selfish republicans that don't want to redistribute wealth. I just don't understand. Why wasn't she asking the usual questions which their handlers gave the? She should've been asking questions about what they are going to do when elected and questions about how they feel about rich republicans or if Sarah Palin should have redistributed the money she spent on her wardrobe by giving it to the poor. This is so unfair!!!!
- inactive, on 10/26/2008, -1/+5Looks like the lefties found this news bit and dugg down posi comments.
Why don't you have enough trust in your VP candidate to tackle tough questions? If the reporter asked questions with ridiculous premises, isn't Biden smart enough to call her on it? - petermcghee, on 10/26/2008, -4/+8I think the tides are turning. In the past few weeks, McCain signs have been popping up everywhere. I think these polls are wrong.
