- haackers, on 10/10/2007, -2/+41The IT Crowd FTW!!!
- Lobstertacular, on 10/10/2007, -0/+20I will be extremely angry if The Big Bang Theory goes anywhere. The media blitz only makes me hate it more (see ad-bar above and to the right).
- AlanOrozco, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10The ironic thing is that this whole page is filled with ads for "The big Bang Theory".
- Mewchu11, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11The Big Bang Theory is so bad I'm almost willing to call it an affront against geeks, nerds, and Bill Nyes everywhere.
- diggydougie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10They left out the real tech shows like the screen savers.
Or maybe there aren't any. - saleem, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8All on one page http://www.wired.com/entertainment/hollywood/news/ ...
- Jrr6415sun, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6NBC May Unplug 'IT Crowd'
http://www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-nbcmaydroptheitc ... - Jrr6415sun, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I couldn't watch the Big Bang Theory for more than 2 minutes, the lame nerd jokes and obsessive laugh track made me cringe. I can't believe people watch this stuff and actually enjoy it.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I justed watched the episode of the IT crowd where they went to Gay the musical.
Holy *****, funniest episode of anything ever. - miyamotofreak, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Why did they rate Chuck above the IT Crowd?
- LoadStar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Eureka is a returning series. This is an article about new shows this season.
- Narfmaster, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3In the article they state "...whose first question is always, "Are you sure it's plugged in?"
WRONG - Myonosken, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Can I please ask why ALL British shows get taken to the US and redone? Aside from a handful, most lose any charm and turn out *****. Coupling and Red Dwarf being two that come to mind.
US shows get ported directly overseas, so why on earth does the US market see the need to "localise" everything (which in the case of coupling was lose the intelligent-sexandrelationships-comedy and switch it for tit and ***** jokes). - geminitojanus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Apparently you haven't seen any previews for "The Big Bang Theory" or "The Cavemen."
- lunarworks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2For the first time in YEARS, I'm actually interested in the new TV season.
- airiox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I thought Chuck was bearable. Nothing special, but bearable.
- Protoss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2One of the guys from the UK is apparently going to be in the US version.
- Protoss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Haha I'm glad I wasn't the only one that caught the faux-Jack Black sidekick in Reaper.
I really hope Pushing Daisies, Chuck and Reaper make it at least a season. - TROGDOR42, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Most of us don't see ads. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/186 ...

But I agree, after seeing the pilot, it's just kind of lame and offensive to geeks. - in2deep, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I really like Chuck and Pushing Daisies. Sort of meh about Journeyman, just because I don't really like the whole "travel back in time to help a random person out" concept. Big Bang Theory just proves that most Hollywood writers dont' understand nerds at all.
- CoolJammer00, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2what the *****.
the only bad thing he could find to say about Daisies was that it looked different than other ***** he's seen before. That's *****. And he gave Chuck 7 dots? that's *****. - LoadStar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I watched it and it wasn't that bad. The worst problem was that pacing was way, way off, which caused the episode to just drag along during many parts. Also, there were several underdeveloped details that could've been dropped from this episode and introduced in more detail later on (for example, "Starbuck's" owner/boss/whatever and whatever shadowy organization they belong to.)
- LoadStar, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I really wanted to like Pushing Daisies, I really did... but the whole thing just seemed to try way, way, WAY too hard to be quirky and different. It reached the point near the end that I wanted to grab the powers that be and scream "YOU'RE TRYING TOO HARD! STOP IT!"
There's definitely some heart in the series... the main two characters were plenty likable (not sure how I feel about Chi McBride in this). The concept is interesting as well. However, it was like an assault on the senses with all the Technicolor over-saturated filming and the narrator that you eventually want to shoot because he just friggin repeated what you just saw 2 seconds previous, except rephrased as if he were reading the world's most pretentious fairy tale. Plus, they had to include nauseatingly cute details, such as calling a travel agency the "Boutique Travel Travel Boutique" (which pretentious narrator had to go and repeat about 10 times, as if the audience couldn't get the joke the first time).
Besides, I wouldn't group this show under "geek TV." It's certainly non-standard fare for TV, but that doesn't necessarily make it "geek TV." There's not a single thing geeky about it. - lonegeek, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Is anyone else worried NBC is going to ruin IT Crowd?
- LavaHot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Big Bang theory wasn't that bad, it's multitudes better than Chuck. There was the classic, "Nerds get beat up and pants stolen by buff guy" plot line, which I hated, but within the context of the rest of the show, was forgivable. For the most part, I believe the nerds are real people.
- quack, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1And he makes mention of a "laugh track". That's a live studio audience, not just some canned laughter. Why is it so hard to believe that real people are actually finding the show funny?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Chuck sucks,From the creators of The OC....We know ***** about the internet.
- Luigi239, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I watched the Pilot on iTunes, and it was just Ok. Some of it looks funny. I will probably watch a few more episodes before I decide if I like it or not.
- crossmr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1"design geeks"? you know they're stretching to fill their list at that point..
- JasonQG, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I think Pushing Daisies may actually have a chance. It's easy to write it off as another quirky show that people won't watch, but there's real, genuine buzz about this show amongst "average" viewers who don't care about what the critics say. And it's such a charming show that just about anybody who watches one episode will come back. Given the buzz and the fact that ABC has been promoting it well, it stands to have a decent premiere, which is all it needs. From there, it should at least retain most of its initial audience, if not grow it as word spreads.
- JasonQG, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The only good thing about this show is the original theme song by Barenaked Ladies. Maybe they can just pair that with a better show.
- juventusc, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5THE IT CROWD, it's way on top of those shows.
- PixelVision, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Although, having said that, they would need 24 episodes or so for a season. There's about 6 or 7 episodes in a UK series. Network executives still usually bugger things up though.
- crossmr, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Thank god...
- PixelVision, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Network execs are notoriously scared of anything different. If you ask me, they're in the wrong business.
- dschrute, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1There is no way the American IT Crowd can be as funny as the real thing. The actors are a huge part of it's success. One of the funniest shows on right now. That God for torrents.....
- culbeda, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Oh you mean the show that Mr. Anderson gave a *6* out of 10?
I'm sorry, but it's a good thing he decided to insult the IT Crowd last or half of the readers would have stopped reading as soon as they saw it. How can I honestly trust the opinion of anyone who gave the IT Crowd a *6*?!? - Balk2K, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah, but the IT Crowd is in it's second season now, it didn't really pilot this season
It is awesome though - uptown, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I swear I pushed the submit button once.... sorry for the dupe....
- Jrr6415sun, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3people talk about the IT crowd but have you actually seen the US version? The last I read it was being recast and rewritten because it was done poorly.. maybe i'm missing a torrent of it or something, but I can't see how people can get excited for a show without actually seeing it... although the british version maybe good, that doesn't necessarily mean this one will be.
- lilxvietxboi, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Actually, I went to the TV Taping of the pilot for The Big Bang Theory and thought the jokes were very clever. I'm interested in how the rest of the series will go.
- airiox, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1It doesn't give Bionic Woman a bad enough score, a 5 is extremely overrated. I was really expecting great things from this, but the pilot is one of the worst pieces of TV I have seen in years. Yeah its that bad. Don't even bother wasting your time to figure out how bad it is for yourself.
- RandomGuySteve, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0NBC has a good track record with office comedies.
- JiMiThInG, on 10/10/2007, -7/+6Journeyman and Pushing Daisies are both very good, and very well done. Chuck is horrid. I don't get why Wired seems to like it. Chuck is not only the worst of the new geek shows, but maybe the worse new show period.
- loneraven, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2Maybe my sense of humor is on the fritz or something, but I didn't find "The Big Bang Theory" all that bad. That said, I don't think it'll last that long as well.
"Chuck" is stupid, and I cannot find any real reason why it's getting such rave reviews. After watching the pilot, I may watch one more episode and that's it. The whole plot is ridiculous to swallow (especially for a geek show). I dunno, it's missing something.
I'm surprised that wired didn't like journeyman much. Sure, it's a rehashed idea, but the pilot was very enjoyable, albeit a little confusing. - melonhedd, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Not ironic.
- uptown, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2I watched the pilot for Chuck .... found it to be pretty bad. It's overly formulaic and seemed to throw in tech references just for cheap laughs and for some viewers to have that "i know what they're talking about 'cause I'm into tech" moment ... not because it felt natural to the storyline. It didn't hold my interest for the whole episode. Maybe it'd be better as a half-hours show (not sure if that's what it'll be after the pilot) but it's not something I'll be tuning into watch.
- bwayne1, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1Anyone want to handicap the chances of these shows? I think Chuck is probably has the best odds... for better or worse. Pushing Daisies is getting incredible critical support... but we know how much *that* matters (or, doesn't, rather). I think it's a bit too quirky for most audiences.
