- mwalker05, on 01/06/2009, -1/+27i love that anchors and reporters are just saying "taint." this has to be a running joke between some producers and writers that they haven't told them what its slang for
- shauncorleone, on 01/06/2009, -0/+18I just watched this during lunch, and I have to say it was hilarious. No matter your political leanings, the character Colbert has developed is delivered superbly every night.

How does this thread have anything to do with Ann Coulter? - stormywest, on 01/07/2009, -1/+10That's excellent. Colmes has plenty of experience working for a comedy news satire.
- inactive, on 01/06/2009, -9/+17'to make more room for Sean Hannity's neck'...
Yes next to Alan Colmes who is a subterranean hermaphrodite, I guess he would seem a little meat-heady. - jba68, on 01/07/2009, -0/+8that spot between our acehole and balls..
- bcos, on 01/07/2009, -0/+8Technically he isn't the report co-host, Colmes is the co-host in Stephen's new show, Colbert and Colmes. ;)
- savvvy, on 01/07/2009, -0/+8Aw Snap - Colmes gets fired at the end of the episode - http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-vi ...

- afractus, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5It's cuz black people like watermelons.
- TravelBizMaster, on 01/07/2009, -2/+7While I lean right, I always thought Colmes had some reasonable arguments until I heard him say the other night that he thought it would be OK for the government to force doctors to perform abortions even if the doctors found it morally objectionable. Jeez! What an idiot!
- jba68, on 01/07/2009, -0/+4he gets bought off.... WIN

- ouzome, on 01/07/2009, -1/+3Colmes is the worst debater on TV, he can't even be honest with himself.
- djholybolt, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2The Colbert Report is one giant Hyperbole. It's intended to act in a right-wing, high-strung (almost christian)conservative way while yet making fun of it's own standing by pointing obvious facts that show just how rediculous they are.
- shauncorleone, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2There are people from all points on the political spectrum that have no sense of humor. Unfortunately, there are definitely some self-proclaimed conservatives who have no ability to laugh at the (sometimes stereotyped) extremes of their own ilk. Fortunately for me, while I am a fiscal conservative I also have a broad and twisted sense of humor that allows me to find the entertainment value in almost anything, including Maher, O'Reilly, Coulter and the rest of these entertainers.
Colbert's character moreso illustrates the idiocy pertaining to the blind followers of all those extremists than the "celebrities" themselves. - inactive, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2I can find you some 'conservatives' that'll whine about Steven for you. And the best part is, these same neocons produce an unfunny attempt at competition -- albeit understandably with a laugh track & WITHOUT anything like Colbert's live audience! Real (that is, fiscal) conservatives like me find Colbert a blast.
- dafragsta, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2Taint the balls
Taint the ass - Kidtuf, on 01/13/2009, -0/+1That's where you are wrong sir. I'm actually just a nazi.
- brucial, on 01/07/2009, -3/+4colmes obviously has no idea who gallagher is. watermelons?!
- KublaiKhan, on 01/07/2009, -0/+1The Colbert Report is the far-out foil to the more subtle Daily Show, I think. They're two different types of shows...Jon Stewart is a master of satire, while Colbert needs to go over the top to keep in character, giving his show a kind of silly or occasionally slapstick-y edge.
That's my take on it, at least. - jmark13, on 01/07/2009, -3/+4This is by far one of the funniest things I've seen in my life. Up there with the first time I saw "In Living Color," Several Futurama episodes, the Far Side and Saturday Morning Breakfast cereal. Well played Corbert, well played.
- drunkenoaf, on 01/07/2009, -3/+3Taint = It ain't?
- michaelrsa, on 01/07/2009, -14/+3Frankly I am getting a bit tired of these bits on the Colbert Report. Isn't the point of a satirical news show that it is a subtle affair? I mean it's got to the point where his methods of running a show seem to fall into the Daily Show, I've seen the British news anchor dress up in a top hat while drinking tea, isn't that a bit over the top? Whatever happened to the days when you could watch a satirical news show and nearly believe that it is a real one? Nowadays every show has a bunch of jumping around and stupid skits like that one where Stewart, Colbert and O'Brien fought. What the hell happened to subtly in the satirical news industry? It's a damn shame I tell ya, a damn shame.
Digg me down now, I know it's coming.
