- sjbdallas, on 11/21/2008, -5/+176And yet Dancing with the Stars is still on TV.
- kaosethema, on 11/21/2008, -6/+157i love 'pushing daisies'
the cute darkness and Kristin Chenoweth make it watchable. - inactive, on 11/21/2008, -8/+134Dear ABC, please cancel Grey's Anatomy. Thank You.
Signed,
Every man in America - Rothbardosaurus, on 11/21/2008, -6/+100Pushing Daisies is fantastic. Which is why they're cancelling it I guess. TV that good just isn't allowed.
- 12916studios, on 11/21/2008, -7/+81Pushing Daisies... I'm absolutely gutted by this move. This is like Veronica Mars getting canceled all over again. This is one that I will never get over.
- mcbechtol, on 11/21/2008, -6/+80I will miss 'Pushing Daisies' *sniff* *sniff*
- inactive, on 11/21/2008, -5/+78not Pushing Daisies...
:-( - shadycuz, on 11/21/2008, -5/+70I agree, Pushing Daisies was a great show.
- shenaniJen, on 11/21/2008, -7/+68The other two, yes, axe Stone and Money... but Daisies? WTF!
- Shirleycakes, on 11/21/2008, -6/+62Pushing Daisies was one of the best things to happen to television in the last couple of years. I could care less about Stone or DSM but why Daisies?
- diesel73, on 11/21/2008, -1/+54"The Facts Are These": ABC has no clue how to promote good TV.
RIP Pushing Daisies :( - NeoCortex, on 11/21/2008, -1/+54Can't Pushing Daisies just touch itself? I can think of a dozen shows that could drop dead to keep it alive.
- BoostedAxela, on 11/21/2008, -5/+46I love Pushing Daisies! I actually was surprised it showed up for a second season, and always figured it was too odd for network TV. Here's to the Pie Maker.
- DWillms, on 11/21/2008, -6/+44Everyone in the office looked at me quite strangely when I screamed at the computer screen in anger.
Pushing Daisies was such a great show, thanks for nothing Network TV... - Agger, on 11/21/2008, -3/+36No, not Pushing Daisies!
- keeganspeck, on 11/21/2008, -1/+33Sigh. Pushing Daisies had the awkward cuteness, creativity, amazing storyline, humor, and characters that I've always wanted in a show. It's by far my favorite show. It's a shame that it's lived up to its title.
- uberlad, on 11/21/2008, -7/+37I suppose they'll make a show about housewives with dirty, sexy medical conditions to take Pushing Daisies' place.
The other two always sucked. - freq, on 11/21/2008, -6/+32Pushing Daisies was too weird and whimsical to survive :(
i heart you olive snook! - tonberryqueen, on 11/21/2008, -2/+27Gah, I don't watch much TV, but I love Pushing Daisies! It had such a great, quirky, Roald Dahl sort of charm to it.
- bigteebo, on 11/21/2008, -0/+25I will truly miss Pushing Daisies. It's wonderful to watch in high definition, and it's so old-fashioned. The sets & props remind me of Edward Scissorhands.
- uncleguito, on 11/21/2008, -5/+28Another vote for the cancellatioin of Grey's Anatomy- I don't know how people can watch that crap. Hopefully they don't cancel Life on Mars, too- it's probably ABC's best show other than Lost.
- trogdor282, on 11/21/2008, -2/+19PETER: Bad news, we've been canceled.
LOIS: Oh no! Peter, how could they do that?
PETER: Well, unfortunately, Lois, there's just no more room on the schedule. We've just got to accept the fact that Fox has to make room for terrific shows like Dark Angel; Titus; Undeclared; Action; That 80's Show; Wonderfalls; Fastlane; Andy Richter Controls the Universe; Skin; Girls Club; Cracking Up; The Pitts; Firefly; Get Real; FreakyLinks; Wanda At Large; Costello; The Lone Gunmen; A Minute With Stan Hooper; Normal, Ohio; Pasadena; Harsh Realm; Keen Eddie; The Street; American Embassy; Cedric the Entertainer; The Tick; Louie; and Greg the Bunny.
LOIS: Is there no hope?
PETER: Well, I suppose if all those shows go down the tubes, we might have a shot... - mittio, on 11/21/2008, -1/+18There has got to be a better way to say that.
- homerjs, on 11/21/2008, -3/+19unbelievable, no wait believable...networks do not recognize good tv when they put it out. Arrested Development all over again. These shows are just too smart for mindless Americans.
- spish, on 11/21/2008, -9/+24***** me, here we go again. "America doesn't get it" shows get canceled while the more intelligent Canadian viewers get left out in the cold with crap cop drama shows again. What gives America? Can't step out of your comfort zone and watch shows that make you think? All you want is guns and dead people? How many ***** CSI's do you need? Dirty Sexy Money is one of the best shows running right now. Pushing Dasies is friggin BRILLIANT... Serves me right for watching smart TV. I'll never understand.
Who can we write at ABC? - lovek, on 11/21/2008, -3/+18Love PD and sad to see it go. I never felt that DSM lived up to the hilariously awesome pilot (close sometimes, but never quite there). And although I really wanted to like Eli Stone, something never clicked with me.
In the end, I think this is 3 bad moves for ABC. You don't have 3 hours of worthwhile TV to put in their place, so does it really hurt to let them be at least through the season?
Can't wait for the "special" episodes of SuperNanny and Extreme Makeover... - inactive, on 11/21/2008, -2/+17Pushing Daisies IS a great show.
- pyroglass, on 11/21/2008, -0/+14Pushing Daisies was by far one of the greatest shows on television today. It was a fun and quaint show which was a very nice breath of fresh air from the redundant crap that is on TV today.I just don't understand how such well written shows are thrown out the window like this. This was a show that just made you smile. It didn't make you laugh out loud by the comedy or make you feel bad about society by the 'crime' aspect. But at the end of the show, it just makes you feel good. It was a warm show and it's a pity that ABC decided to end such a 'happy' show in order to compete with one of the 12 CSIs or 10 Law and Orders. ABC has lost my respect. All that's left for them is Lost and that's over in 2 seasons anyway
- bruins72, on 11/21/2008, -2/+15Pushing Daisies is such a unique show and I'm really going to miss it. It's one of my favorites that I really look forward to every week. I think network tv just isn't a place for such a unique show. The average joe schmo major network tv viewer can't appreciate something like that. They need another cop, lawyer, or doctor show. Or maybe another family sitcom with a laugh track? That's what they want. A show like Pushing Daisies needs someplace that it can be creative and find it's audience. I'd say FX but they just like dark and gritty shows. Somebody else here mentioned Adult Swim. I'm not sure that's right either. USA does quirky but I don't know if they'd be the right fit. What about Showtime? I could see Showtime doing right by this show.
- shaka776, on 11/21/2008, -1/+14Meh, get your own dang networks.
I like my TV shows like I like my women: Dumb, predictable and once a week.
/s - TSCheredar, on 11/21/2008, -1/+14Following Kevin Rose's lead: Its time to cancel TV subscriptions and literally stop watching shows anywhere except for the Internet.
And yes I know ABC is not "cable" - that doesn't matter. - protogenxl, on 11/21/2008, -0/+12"Bryan Fuller, creator of the critically acclaimed "Daisies," said he hasn't even been DIRECTLY INFORMED of ABC's verdict,"
That seems to be a stand practice at ABC just listen to the commentary for Clerks: The Animated Series. - roomforpanic, on 11/21/2008, -1/+13Dancing with the "Stars." There, I fixed that for you.
- andrea1rp, on 11/21/2008, -1/+12ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Who decides these ratings anyway?
Pushing Daisies is AMAZING and highly imaginative.
this happens all the time, with shows like family guy and firefly that people love but then either get back on or a movie.
I hope even more for daisies - Urbanninja622, on 11/21/2008, -2/+13Pushing Daisies is the best show since Dexter. How was this weeks rating low, the episode had Fred Willard AND Paul F. Thompkins
- CaptMonkey, on 11/21/2008, -2/+13It was probably my favorite new show from last year, and I was very excited to see it come back. Unfortunately, it just never gained an audience. It's too bad too, I know a lot of people who probably would have enjoyed it never even saw the show. I think if more people had given it a chance it may have caught on.
- Griminald, on 11/21/2008, -0/+11I could never get into Daisies or Stone -- but I'm a bit surprised they pulled DSM. There are an awful lot of shows that are suffering from 15-25% ratings drops from last season, like the recently-cancelled Lipstick Jungle.
Now if only they didn't replace poorly-rated "shows" with just-as-poorly-rated "crap". - Treshnell, on 11/21/2008, -1/+11Season 2 of Dasies hasn't been nearly as good as the first, but it's still a very novel show and really fun to watch.
- ethbone, on 11/21/2008, -1/+10Canceling Pushing Dasie's is bad news bears! With a few exceptions every good show that has ever been on network TV has been canceled! What's next? 30 Rock?
- krschuerman, on 11/21/2008, -0/+9They are probably just making room for another cop/legal drama.
- bluejays47, on 11/21/2008, -2/+11ABC does it again. *****. First "Sports Night," and now this...
- MindTrigger, on 11/21/2008, -3/+11Hey... at least we have ***** Knight Rider!
- lunachique, on 11/21/2008, -1/+9I haven't felt this way about a show in a long time. It truly touched my heart and just made me feel good. The music, the quirky characters, the beautiful colors, the narrator, Swoosie Kurtz and Ellen Greene, it was just great. I think maybe the problem was the fact that if you just started watching it now, you'd be lost or have to have someone explain to you what's going on. Otherwise it just appeared to be too odd and an acquired taste I guess. Either way, I'm completely bummed. I just hope that this talented cast can find something amazing that suits them because I adore them all.
- Stavrosian, on 11/21/2008, -0/+8Apparently Digg loves Pushing Daisies but hates Dirty Sexy Money. Sorry buddy, wrong side of the fence.
- pseudo.hero, on 11/21/2008, -1/+9If ABC would have put it at a consistent freaking time I would have been able to watch it more. I caught only one this year!
- palewook, on 11/21/2008, -0/+7ABC cancels PD then i cancel ABC. Done watching anything on ABC.
- inactive, on 11/21/2008, -1/+8But it's good though, it keeps every woman glued to the TV on Thursday nights and you can head down to the local sports bar and watch the NFL Network game... but this is digg though.. I suppose not many people care..
- acero47, on 11/21/2008, -3/+10Couldn't care less.
- Tubilakken, on 11/21/2008, -0/+7Pushing Daisies was by far one of the greatest shows on television today, hopefully it will get pick up by another channel
- orthodoxDrew, on 11/21/2008, -1/+8i like it too. seems like it is a victim of that writers strike.
